RevDex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Regards, [redacted] I am accepting that protech is giving me a refund of my $91.95 in money form not as a credit to have repairs done on my vehicle.

Customer service and satisfaction is our #priority here at Protech Autocare We strive to exceed customers expectations and always do our best to fully inform customers about their vehicles needs. We provided Mr*** with a quote to replace a lower control arm on his vehicle which
had been diagnosed as being worn/faulty at another shop At that time, he did not have the vehicle with him for us to inspect Based on the estimate we provided, Mr*** scheduled the repair to be performed During the removal of the lower control arm, we discovered one of the bolts to be badly rusted/seized into the frame This is an uncommon situation We immediately stopped what we were doing to alert Mr*** about this condition There were a few possible scenarios in which could pose unplanned costs My technician was very concerned that the bolt was going to break off in the frame As a possible solution to prevent this, we were going to cut an access hole to the rear side of the welded nut to apply some heat and penetrating lubricant in the hopes of getting the bolt removed without it breaking offThe customer did agree with the extra labor expense to perform that procedure We explained that we could not risk going any further with the repair due to the possibility of the bolt breaking off which would require a substantial additional amount of labor At that point, we reassembled the vehicle back to same condition as it was when it came in We did not want to bind the customer into a further repair that was not planned on which was the reason we stopped the repair and made the call We did contact Mr*** regarding this issue on the 26th of January (Prior to our being aware of this complaint being filed with the Revdex.com) We offered to show Mr*** exactly what we were dealing with on his vehicle for a better understanding of the specific rust/seized bolt issue to which was declined We also offered to apply the towards the cost of repair to which was also declined We then suggested that Mr*** get a third opinion on his vehicle to which we believe would net the same results as far as the needed repair We are happy to refund Mr***'s Again, customer satisfaction is very important to us While we feel that we did everything we could, we could not take the risk to proceed with the repair knowing that the potential additional labor needed was not agreeable with the customer It is not often when repairs exceed the original estimated quote, but with things like rust being factors, it unfortunately does happen We appreciate the opportunity to respond.Thank you
