Had after market alarm with keyless entry installed. I provided alarm, instructions, wiring diagrams and informed that it was still the factory keyless entry that worked doors and back hatch and the book that came with the truck had wiring diagram for truck in it as well. Install took from 10:15 am until after 2 pm. Talked with owner while waited for it to finish. As pulling out after paid he jumps in from passenger side and tells me that only the lock and unlock buttons work. Figured the rear hatch and the panic wires along with other unused parts were in box as promised, empty. When could finally call because throwing up all morning asked why the panic and rear hatch doesn't work, where unused parts are and told that alarm is not working right it only locks and unlocks. Owner blamed alarm, when unlocked door with on phone it chirped and he said see it is working. No, that was the unlock. Can slam against it, pull on handle, unlock with key and start it and it never goes off. That's the alarm not us. Valet mode must be on. Looking for valet switch, when found it noticed several holes and cracks and breaks and not put back correctly, voiced it and he said it was like that. WRONG! Told want old keyless put back in and my money back. Refused to give me money back only in store credit as it says so on the invoice he printed and gave me after I had already paid for install. Hung up found book and put in and back out of valet mode. Tried setting parking break and found alarm only works with parking break and it only works on passenger side if someone slams against the side. So sensitivity needs to be adjusted. Called back asking about damage they had done and what to do to fix it and explained about alarm and wire diagram torn out of book. He said they're professionals and wouldn't do that he gave me the diagram. Then tried to blame on me and said took pictures before left it was in perfect condition like when I brought it in. He said to bring it back Friday and after that I can take to court.Product_Or_Service: alarm keyless entry install Desired SettlementI want a full refund in cash or back on my card. I was not provided with information before hand that all purchases would not be refunded before purchase only on receipt. I also want all the damage they did fixed at their expense as it was all original from factory never messed with I expect it to be proper year and without cracks or damage like it was when it was delivered to them for install and I want it put back together properly not just drilled and bolted to other areas. Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] Contact Phone: [redacted]Contact Email: [redacted]Customer brought in a Pile alarm, which is low quality cheap alarm, to install in her 1993 GMC which still had factory keyless entry. Customer was informed that the alarm brand was low quality and we would not be responsible for the alarm itself. She said it was fine, that her alarm was good and to install it. Customer paid for a BASIC installation rate of $120.00. This consists of lock and unlock (keyless entry) and the alarm. If customer wanted any other features installed that would have been extra and our prices AND our return policy is prominently posted. Every wire that needed to be installed during the paid installation was installed, there were no extra wires. Customer was told installation would take at least 4 hours, she agreed. Installer may have removed wiring diagram from the book to install the alarm, however this diagram is Not something the customer would ever need and if they are altering the installation in way, we are no longer responsible for that installation. After installation, customer was given the receipt. Showed how to use alarm keypad and shown all features installed and that each one worked. She had zero complaints at this time. Customer called the next day and said alarm is not working, I asked her to bring the car back. She asked for gas money, we told her we don't provide gas money. She then said I want my money back, I told her we don't provide cash refunds. Bring your car in. She called again later that day and said my alarm is still not working and asked where the valet switch was. While I was on the phone, she got under the dash and pressed the valet switch until the alarm chirped on. I said see you have been messing with the alarm, you had it in valet mode. She said I'm still going to bring it in. And asked again for gas money and a refund. I told her we don't have refunds and I don't provide gas money. I told her again that her alarm did not gave a warranty, only our installation and that the installation warranty was void if she was messing with the alarm. At this point she said oh you broke the plastic cover under the dash. I said no, we did not break anything. I said in fact We take pictures of any damage to a vehicle that we are working on, and we have a picture of the crack and 2 holes under your dash from before installation started. The crack is old, the car is a 1993, and the screws are from some previous installation, customer had purchased the car a week or two prior to the install. After I told the customer that I had a picture, she got nasty and threatened to take me to court and I told her to go ahead and do that. We installed her alarm professionally. We asked her to bring her car back when she claimed it was not functioning properly. She has repeadtdly tried to get money from us, whether it's gas money or a refund of an installation that was done correctly. Customer finally showed up right before closing on a Friday night, we looked at the alarm. Everthing was functioning correctly, we told her this is what your alarm is capable of and she said please don't blame my alarm. We adjust the sensitivity per customers request. She wanted it set to the most sensitive setting. When customer left our shop, her alarm was functioning at full capability and to her satisfaction. We showed her all the functions once again (multiple times) and she said thank you and left and the was last we heard from her. We will not give a refund for an installation done properly. Our refund policy is printed on our receipts and is clearly displayed in our store. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)1. I was told 1-2 hours like everywhere else I called not at least 4 hours. 2. I was never told it would be extra for anything else. I did however tell them when I called I did not want them to cut any wires and make sure that I got the book back because I was going to have the extras added later therefore I would need the wire diagram. They said that would be fine, but if anyone else did the work it would void their warranty. No one else touched when this was happening 3. ripping the wiring diagram out of the book also caused the other page it was attached to to go missing and that was the page that told how to program the alarm and use the panic button which was not shown by them. 4. the valet switch call was the first call not the second and was explained to him at the time the chirp was the car unlocking it does that when it unlocks and he said see the alarm is working. It did not have to do with the valet switch. He did accuse me of messing with it and that was the second call when asking about the panic button not working if it was a programming thing and how to get it to work because it wasn't in my book. 5. I had to take it back a 3rd time called the day after the 2nd time because the doors would not lock only unlock. It turns out the "t-tap" wasn't on right, it wasn't closing and came loose causing the problem. 6. after getting the add on's I took it to someone else for install and all the wires had been cut for the add on's and another wire had been cut for the original unit that was need then wire added to lengthen it so it would hook to a wire under the steering wheel. I had to have unit replaced due to them cutting wires I asked they not when I made appoint for install 7. There were no holes or damage before as can be seen from pictures they were not dusty or worn. 8. they didn't show me how to work anything he jumped in my truck as I was backing out and said only these two buttons work okay and showed me the lock and unlock.
