We contacted our customer and reviewed the issue of his concernOur reinspection concluded that the issue was not in the roofThrough further inspection of the surrounding roof areas we noticed a small trim board rotted and was deteriorating causing separation from the other trim board against it
There was no caulking left in the area of separation allowing any rain to penetrate down inside the chimney wall into the home It is a natural assumption that anytime water is seen inside the home coming from the ceiling that it would come from the roof however chimneys siding, woodwork and trim are often overlookedwe discussed this with the homeowner and recaulked resealed the area of concern This was not a warranty issue or a roof issue
