Infinity Home Renovations Reviews (1)

This letter is in response to Infinity Home Renovations IncI have read the letter submitted to the Revdex.com in regards to complaint number Although most of what the owner has stated is true, there are some issues that still need addressed and clarifiedOn February 5, my husband and I signed a contract and the work was supposed to begin April 7, Mr [redacted] was given $upon signing the contractThe work did not start on schedule and was delayed at least a weekUnfortunately, this was the first of many times Mr [redacted] was late to our house or simply did not show upThis was frustrating for my familyWhen [redacted] started the job, he was given another $This again was according to the contract that 1/of the total cost is due upon signing, another 1/at the start of the job, and the last 1/upon completionOnce the floor did get finished, the grout did not have a uniform color and Mr [redacted] agreedAt this point, he did not grind out the grout as stated in his letterHe grouted over the original applicationWhen that proved not to solve the issue, we discussed other optionsWe came to the conclusion that the grout needed to be ground out and re-doneI went [redacted] picked out a new grout color and even purchased a grout sealer based upon the recommendation of a Home Depot employeeBecause the contract states that Infinity provides “customers with a one year satisfaction guarantee” I should not be charged extra for thisHe even agreed that the job was not satisfactoryIn addition, in the last couple weeks, we noticed that the grout is cracking in a particular spotBecause Mr [redacted] is not responding to our phone calls, we have been unable to communicate this to himWhile the floor was being repaired, [redacted] did go and file for the building permit [redacted] then informed us that there was not a survey done on the propertyMy husband and I then contacted a surveyorThe survey showed a property line encroachment unknown to usThis meant that a hearing needed to be scheduledAfter the hearing on May 22, [redacted] did explain that he could not build the extension because of the approximately square feet of property, located under our roof that belongs to our neighborIt must also be said that regardless of this piece of property, our neighbor still did not want us to build the extensionDuring this week Mr [redacted] and I discussed that because we were not going to be able to build that a refund was owed to usMr [redacted] agreed and was to give us a breakdown of the cost of the kitchenI have yet to receive this breakdownWhile [redacted] was repairing and demoing our kitchen, an issue came up with our boiler for the hot water heatPart of the demo as stated in the contract was to cap off a pipe for the hot waterUnfortunately, the job became more complex than originally thought and [redacted] said that he would not be able to fix that part of the jobWe had to call another company that specialized in hot water heatingThat cost was an additional $to fixIn order to re-rout the water line, a hole in the ceiling was neededBecause the company would not fix the hole in the ceiling, I asked [redacted] if he would fix it and he said yesUnfortunately, the hole is still not completely finishedI do not feel that he should be paid for thisOn Monday June 2nd [redacted] was supposed to come to our house to finish the repairs to the ceilingHe never showed upWhen I texted him, he said he was stuck in New Castle and could not comeMy husband and I were very upset because he never communicated to us that he wasn’t coming and my husband had re-arranged his schedule to be homeHe did come the next day and put a coat of plaster on the ceiling and said it needed one maybe more applicationsAt this time, June 3rd, we again discussed the refund and I again requested the breakdown of the kitchenHe said he was going to e-mail it to me that nightHe did notOn June 5th, I texted him again saying that I did not receive an e-mailHe texted me back saying that is was still “working in New CastleI will have it all ready to you this weekend.” By Monday June 9th I had not received the e-mailI texted him, called him and e-mailed him with no responseAt this point my husband and I became concerned that he was not willing to return our moneyI then submitted my complaint to the Revdex.comWe then found out that he went on vacationHe never communicated this to usIt seemed to us that he went on vacation with our moneyI also sent a certified letter to Infinity Home Renovations, which was never claimedIt was only on June 18th that he responded to me via e-mail because he received the complaint that I had sentHe said again that he owes us a refundAgain, I did not receive a break down of the costIn my e-mail back to him I expressed that I would rather talk about this issue and that we should have received the refund weeks prior to his departureOn June 25th, my husband tried to reach [redacted] again and left him a voice mail [redacted] did not respondIn the letter sent to you by Mr [redacted] , he said that a refund of is what he agreed toHe never gave me a priceWe believe that more is owed to usThe total cost of the work, according to the contract was $11,To date $has been given to himIf he only gives us back the $3867.00, that would mean that the kitchen work, which is only approximately square feet, and the demo, some of which had to be completed by another company and the ceiling that is unfinished, was costing $This cannot be true, even if this price includes the permit feesOther estimates that we had prior hiring Infinity Home Renovations never came close to this amountWe want to pay him a fair amount for the work that he did do but we believe a refund of $is owedThis would put the cost of the kitchen floor and demo at $Again, we believe that is a fair amount for the workWe have waited long enough for this refund and want this resolved within weeks timeThank for your timeMy husband and I look forward to a timely response
