We recently had an Infinity Home built. This was a very unpleasant experience. This builder cuts corners every opportunity. It is up to the home owner to be diligent. The builder will only address poor quality if the home owner makes him aware. There is no Quality Management System for this company. The QA is the homeowner. This company is just a network of subcontractors. These contractors have no respect or pride in the house they build, only how fast they can complete the job and move on. We are 2 weeks in the house now. we decided to take possession of the house to stop the damages. The contracts were causing more problems than fixing. We turned in multiple list to the builder, only to be disappointed with the results of the fixes. i.e. we had hardwood floors throughout the house. The contractor installed the wood and had no supervision. The wood was not shuffled properly. One of the rooms the floor shading disparities were significant, an entire box of light colored wood was used in the center of the room. It stretched 5 boards wide from one side to the other. After some discussions the floor rep came out and offered to replace. We were skeptical, as we knew the repair would be noticeable. Well they assured us that it would not. Well of you only look at it from distance, they are right. We just happen to live there and can tell each seam is raised from the previous glue that was left on the floor. 75% of the flooring in that room has wavy floors. Looks like a floor after it has been water damaged. We are not sure what to do with this floor, the only way to really fix this floor would be to take the entire floor up and float the floor to keep the same thing from happening again.
My wife and I are creating a list of repairs that we will start on. Not hard to create, kitchen cabinets. Usually the doors open and close. Our hinges are from China, so they only open a couple of times before the doors fall off. Cut corners to make a buck...We will start replacing the current tie wraps we are using with real hinges. We will also start painting. We have a lot of work to do. The lack of QA allowed the trim, doors, etc to be painted without sanding, removing dirt, debris, etc. If you brush against the doors you will most likely get a splitter or snag in your clothing. The paint is coming off as the sheet rock dust was never removed.
This builder charges higher prices for better quality. I can't see it. We spent a lot of money for lessons learned. I hope this posts educates future home buyers. This builder needs some seriuos quality management systems put in place and better contractors. We put an additional 75K above the listed price. Only to be told by the owner of infinity that our house was snake bit, everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Well we know that, we are the ones that pointed out all the debacles. Again, lack of supervision and sub-contractors that take no pride in their work.

I will also be posting on Angie's list. I am not sure the builder understood when I informed him I was journalling the build. I have all my notes with pictures to provide detailed information to future home buyers. We are fortunate and can put the necessary money into the house to correct these problems with a quality contractor. I would hate to think of someone borrowing money to build their house and was stuck with this type of quality.

Hope this review provides some insight as the builder was not too concerned.
