Review: The current and most pressing issue is the flashing where the garage abuts the house. It is pulled away and not fastened down. Our issues with Infinity started at the misrepresentation at sale of the job with [redacted] and his son. I was told when I asked about our fascia boards being swollen that it would be no problem to replace when we replaced the roof. We discussed changing from the current wood fascia to a composite material. Again, I was told that was no problem. When first contacted about the job beginning, it was by the individual that was going to do the rain gutters. He called and left a message asking if it was okay to come and remove our old gutters. When I checked my messages {as we were out of town at a function}, my husband called back to say we would prefer they did not at this time as we were not home. We were told it was too late they had already taken them off. I was then contacted and told my roof would be done the following week from that call. I stated I was still painting the fascia boards at this time as we were unable to find the composite material in town. I was then contacted and told they would be here at noon the next day. It was late that evening and I was finishing the last of the painting. I was then contacted and told they had moved the job up to 8 or 9 that morning. I stated that the boards were probably not dry and that my husband still needed to rip the boards as all we could find in town were 12 inch wide sheets and he was not going to be back until shortly after noon. I was again told that would be no problem they could do it after the roof was on. My husband arrived on schedule and cut the boards. He then went down to the lumber store to purchase new boards for the corners of the house as the boards that abutted the fence had some rot at the very bottom. We painted and replaced these boards the following weekend. I then received a call about the rain gutters and again I asked about the fascia boards. I was then told by [redacted], the contract did not include the fascia boards. I stated that this was discussed at length. She stated the contract only covered rotten fascia boards and none were rotten. I was then contacted after she spoke with the gutter guy about the fascia boards and told he would not do it as if there was rot it could involve our trusses. She stated they had a handyman they use and he could do it for a dollar a linear foot. We replaced the fascia boards in front of the garage ourselves but then contacted Infinity again to accept the contract. We stated that we did not need the front of the garage done as we had done it ourselves. The handyman called and stated when he would be out. The first day he replaced the boards in front of the garage. When I called and spoke with him, he stated he was not told not to replace those. When [redacted] called back, she stated he was told in an email. The handyman came back the next day to do the rest of the fascia boards. There was now a near hole in the front east corner of the soffit of the home where it appears they pried against the soffit to remove the fascia. We also noted some of the boards were still 16 foot pieces and we had only 8 foot pieces here as we had no way to transport the 16 foot lengths. We asked [redacted] to come discuss this and he declined saying he would call us. All the material we had on hand for the job was gone including the corner pieces that we knew we purchased over the amount required. [redacted] stated he didn't like the look of the 8 foot pieces and purchased the 16 foot lengths himself. We were unable to find prepainted ones and asked where he found them. The paint we had purchased was locked in the garage. I has sent a picture of the damaged soffit to [redacted] and [redacted] and also to the cell phone of [redacted]. I called our insurance regarding further checks I had received and they sent me a copy of a work order they had received from Infinity. My husband spoke with [redacted] as the bill showed new vent caps but none were put on. She stated they were back ordered and they would put them on when they had them. They appear to now have been changed though we were never contacted that anyone would be on our home to do this. We then had the gutter guy show up on a Saturday stating he was here to do the gutters. We went ahead and had him put them on as there was no way to exit the home without taking a bath. We then received an email with a nonitemized bill from Infinity. My husband called and spoke with [redacted] about the damaged soffit and the flashing that needed repaired. She stated someone would be out to look at it. We then returned home on a Saturday to find a print out of the emailed bill in our door. The next day a [redacted] showed up to collect our bill. He assured us these problems would be resolved the next week if we only paid. We paid and have seen no one since. I emailed [redacted] and let her know that [redacted] had promised this and there has been no reply. My husband called and spoke with the office at [redacted]e and was told they would get a hold of whoever was taking care of that area. [redacted] then called later today who stated he would make sure everything would be taken care of but that this was the first he heard about it.Desired Settlement: Repair the flashing where the garage abuts the home. Infinity can work out payment of [redacted] and we will have the Soffit repaired by a licensed contractor. [redacted]'s payment would include the extra material that is missing and no further discussion of the boards that we are nearly certain had a nail put in without being replaced. This would be very easily settled by scraping a small amount of paint from the boards in question. If they are new, there will not be a blueish-green color underneath the white.

Response:

Hello,

These people are pushy and rude. I also didn't appreciate garbage being left in my yard.

After the hail storm that hit in May, a rep from Infinity came to the door, discussed their services and left his contact information. A week later I contacted him to come by and do a free inspection. We have a flat rubber roof and so he had to bring someone by who specifically worked with that material. After the inspection I was told that the seams were damaged and if left until the snows hit, that water might get under the seams, swell when frozen causing seams to pop and water to get in. I made an appointment for an insurance adjuster to come out and meet with the roofing rep so I could file a claim. The claim was filed and I signed a contract with Infinity to handle the repairs - this was in July. I was told that due to the nature of our roof it would probably be a month before work could start. The claim was filed for a complete roof replacement and I received a check in the mail. In August I was told that the roof didn't meet current codes and Infinity would be working with my insurance company to request additional funds to bring the roof up to code. One of the reps from Infinity who visited my home during these inspections told me that not many companies would even take this sort of claim and implied that I should be thankful they were taking the time to work with me. A sample of the roofing material was removed, and portions of the interior of my home were inspected. After several weeks I got a follow-up from my insurance company explaining that additional funds were approved to bring the roof up to code and another check was mailed to me. This brings us to September when we entered a period of silence from Infinity and no work was done or scheduled. (The rep did, however, come out to check that the portion of roofing material removed wasn't creating any leaks). I was told by the rep that they were having trouble finding a reputable contractor to do the work, but that it would begin soon. I expressed concern about the weather turning and was told that even were snow to be on the roof the work could still be done. The rep also apologized for not knowing enough about my type of roofing to handle the details regarding code and scheduling work sooner. As I got frustrated, my husband contacted a supervisor with Infinity who knew nothing about the delays nor could explain why it was taking so long. In mid October I was contacted that a roofer had finally been located, but that the work to be done no longer included a new roof but a process that would cover the old one. My husband and I expressed concern about this not being what we had signed a contract for nor what the insurance paperwork detailed. The rep came out and spoke with my husband promising a new contract and a follow-up with the insurance company to address any problems. On the projected start date I received a call from Infinity asking how the work was going and if I was satisfied - I responded that work had not begun and the caller was confused and promised that someone would follow up with me immediately. One week later, the rep called my husband leaving a voice mail saying that the job was over his head and Infinity was "bowing out". He left the contact information for a subcontractor who we could personally contact to get the work done. We met with the subcontractor who told us what type of process he would suggest - again not a roof replacement and because we were not a commercial business the manufacturer would not warranty our materials although he said he would give us a personal warranty but only for ten years. At this point my husband contacted Infinity to ask for paperwork releasing us from the contract (which would have given them legal ground to sue us should we get work done by another company). The supervisor he spoke to had no idea that any of this had been going on but did send the paperwork. Now it is November, the snow is here, my roof is not repaired (and actually has a small portion missing), and I spent the summer under contract (which left me unable to find another company to do the work) with the assumption that work was scheduled to begin. I have insurance checks that will be void if the work isn't done in a year and the possibility that if the rep was correct, my roof will leak once water freezing opens the seams.
