Production Overstated
Infinium installed a 13-panel residential system on my house. I chose Infinium for the highest advertised energy production at a reasonable price.

Installation was very quick and professional. Infinium also installed a 240V EV charger of my choice in my garage. Electrical conduit was painted to blend in with the house wall. Very professional and polite crew. Inspection and PG&E process handled smoothly and quickly. So, 5 stars for the installation process.

However, first year production was 15% lower than advertised (see attached pictures), which is a big deal for me, as I was planning to buy another EV. Reached out to Infinium. Response from the owner: one or two panels are getting partially shaded in the afternoon by the chimney and the nearby tree, that is why peak production is lower and is in May, instead of June-July. My take: this doesn't add up, as 15% production loss implies that 2 out of 13 panels are fully shaded 100% of the time (2/13=0.15), and this is plainly not the case for my roof (see attached picture). So, 1 star for overstating production and not addressing my valid concern.

In summary, buyer beware: I did not get an honest deal from Infinium.

Sold discontinued Solar panel and was not told they were 7 years olds
I have been talking to *** to resolve the 14 panel system I was sold back on 4/08/2109, 3.4Kw system in total Once installed it was nearly 35%-40% less efficient than the invoice describes. I have since hired 2 technicians(1 recommended by ***) to find out why i'm not getting what I was sold, and they both have said these were previously installed panels and only getting under 31V(should be open circuit 38V), drops to mid 21-22V under open circuit. After I pressed *** he informed me these panels were discontinued and sitting around the warehouse for 7 years. I am not convinced these were not from another job.
When I received the palette of panels they were not wrapped. I questioned him at that time and he assured me they were new panels.
We agreed to replacing 6 panels(1 string) at a higher wattage to bring the system closer to what I purchased and to offset the 8 panels that are used. He was going to meet me in Sacramento on his way to a job in Roseville 7/15/2019. We were going to exchange the panels at my house and move on. I paid to have the 6 panels brought down to my house in Sacramento for the exchange. The new panels he explained were 270W Mitsubishi and will do the job.
He has just informed me he does not have those panels and he does not have anymore for the exchange.
He wants to refund me for the 6 panels leaving me with 8 that are way under performing.

I am out of pocket $950.00 for 2 technicians and 1 6 panel pull down.
If I was sold a system that meets what we discussed I would not be out the $950.00 in technicians and labor!

I was told a used system when I thought I was getting a brand new system.

On a positive note.
Everything up to and including the front end delivery of the entire package I am pleased with. Its the resolution of used panels when I was promised new panels

Desired Outcome

I don't want the 14 panels and I cannot pay to have them taken down and driven 3 hours away to there warehouse for a refund. If they want them they can come take them down since I paid to have them put up. They are used and of no value I need new panels that meet what I was sold or $*** which includes refund of panels and half the out of pocket labor. This $*** will go towards new panels and labor.

We went to Infinium Solar with some questions for our DIY solar system . We met with *** at the office and he spent time going over the different component options along with pricing options. We compared the prices to some online stores and they were the same and even a little better. Great customer service and knowledge. Thanks

A 10 watt Infinium solar panel purchased in July 2016 has a 5 year warranty. Seller will not respond at all for warranty claim info.
Unit was purchased thru Amazon order ORDER # *** July 18, 2016, with a 5 year warranty. Panel has quit charging, will not function. Seller was contacted via voicemail and email, both direct and thru Amazon but will not respond with warranty claim instructions.

Desired Outcome

Some simple customer contact would be appreciated. The unit needs to be replaced. The warranty should be honored or the seller needs to stop advertising the units he sells as coming with warranty.

Infinium Solar Response

We received a message on our company VM form *** on a weekend. When we re-opened Monday the customer was called but not reached. We are not open on the weekend and apparently *** didn't have the patients to wait so he filed this case on that Monday. This order is from almost 2 years ago. The warranty is with the manufacture NOT our company. Although*** had not warranty claim with our company we honored his request to return the panel as clearly identified on the attachment.

Probably *** should have actually waited to talk to our technician to trouble shoot his issue but he was clearly not interested in that and demanded a return. Upon the return of the solar panel it was inspected. It tested GOOD. It has full voltage and full current. Probably it was just a loose connection but we will never know.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I do accept their response with one comment. It was well before May 8 that I started leaving messages, on ML Solar's contact number with no one calling back. However, they are correct that the fault was mine as I subsequently found an underground cable from the panel had been nibbled on by gophers and corroded. I have tried to correct any complaint I made, including feedback and here, to show ML Solar was not at fault. I do stand humbly apologetic.
