Information Services Corporation of Saskatchewan Reviews (2)

ISC began sending information the wrong address.ISC is charging our non-profit twice for its corporate registry info because their mistake.I am the treasure for the [redacted] Community Association and have been for the past 3 years. We file our annual return with ISC in the spring every year, and all our mail is received at our PO Box listed as the mailing address with ISC. (Entity # [redacted])We filed our return and payment this year and it was received by ISC as the cheque(#[redacted], May6) was cashed May 23, and a letter reminding us to submit our financial statements by Oct 31, 2014 was received June 11, 2014, as usual. ISC then sent mail (July 15, 2014) stating the annual return had not been filed to the registered office address (which is not current) and not to the mailing address which they have been using for at least the past three years ([redacted]). This mail was received only by chance. (contact with the person who received it) I then contacted ISC and asked them to direct mail to the mailing address listed and confirmed that they had received the annual return and cheque. (July 18 - case #[redacted]) ISC said they had received the return and cheque so we would not be charged, but there were some corrections with the return so they would send a new one. They sent a new return to the mailing address and the old registered office address (which I told them was not current) and is charging us to file again plus a late filing fee.Desired SettlementDirect all mail to the mailing address on file, and not charge us to file the annual return again and no late filing fee. This appears to be an issue on their end, we have submitted our return and they received payment on time. We will submit the return info again as requested. [redacted]Business Response [redacted]Information Services Corporation (ISC) is responsible for operating the Corporate Registry on behalf of the Province of Saskatchewan. This responsibility includes ensuring that the information contained in the Registry is accurate and complies with legislative and regulatory requirements. We are required to record two addresses for non-profit corporations: a mailing address and a registered office. While the mailing address can be a post office box, the registered office must be the physical location where the records of the business are held (that is, a street address or rural legal land description). While the mailing address is used for initial correspondence (including annual return notices), other priority notices (such as final notices warning of pending strike off) are sent to the registered office. In this case, it appears that when the 2014 Annual Return was submitted, it was discovered that certain changes from the 2013 Annual Return had not been made to the Registry records. This meant that the information included on the 2014 Annual Return as submitted in May was also incorrect. When the error was discovered, an internal correction was made. A new 2014 Annual Return was generated and sent out to be reviewed and signed so any changes that had been made between 2013 and 2014 could be recorded in the Registry. It was requested that the updated 2014 Annual Return be returned within 1 month. When the updated 2014 Annual Return had not been returned within the month, a second priority letter was sent to the registered office. At this time, the $10 additional late fee was requested. There was no requirement to repay the original $10 Annual Return filing fee, although our standard form letters may not make this clear.Since this issue was caused by our initial error in not properly recording the changes from the 2013 Annual Return, we will waive the late filing fees for this Annual Return. The 2014 Annual Return, signed and dated, with any changes that have occurred since 2013 noted should be submitted to ISC. No additional payment is required, as the original payment made in May will be applied. A note has been placed on the file to ensure that the late fees are not applied. However, for the reasons outlined above, we will not change the registered office address in the Registry records, unless a new physical (street) address is provided. [redacted]

Complaint[redacted]I applied for a business name registration using the Information Service Corporation's online service on February 25, 2016. I noticed as of February 26, 2016 that I had been charged three times for this service when only one charge is applicable. I notified the ISC on March 11 of the overpayment, and was informed my complaint had been forwarded to the accounting department for review as of March 16, and given case number [redacted]. I contacted the Information Service Corporation on March 30 to inquire as to the status of my refund of $113.10, and was informed that the refund would take 4-6 weeks to process. [redacted] Desired SettlementI demand to be refunded the overcharged amount of $113.10 immediately as this is a result of an error on the part of the Information Service Corporation. [redacted] Business Response [redacted]The refund was processed on March 31, 2016. Our apologies for any inconvenience resulting from the delay in completing the refund.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
