This vehicle was illegally parked in a no tractor trailer parking zone at a private property that Ingram's towing Services have the authorization to service. The customer called our office demanding illegal and personal information that pertained to the business and nothing that was relevant to the two itself. By law, we are not required to release any insurance or personal information about the business to anyone who is not a DOT representative or inspector. Once this was explained to the customer , he had no other issues and proceeded to pick up his vehicle.

Mr. was not and is not certified delivery driver of ***-*** where his truck was towed. I have communication from store management advising he was not delivering to ***-***. When he called our office to set up a time to get his truck , he advised office staff that he had a load on the back of the truck that was due to be delivered out of town the next day. His truck was parked in a no parking zone and there are signs posted as well as Ingram's Towing signs posted advising that semi tractor trailer parking is not permitted on the property. Mr. was not charged $4000 to release the truck. After he came to the location to retrieve his truck , he continuously called our office back numerous of time communicating threats etc. Ingram's Towing has a contract with ***-*** to tow any vehicles or semi trucks that are parked illegally or unauthorized. Pictures attached will show where and how he parked his truck on the ***-*** parking lot as well as Ingram's Towing signs in the ***-*** parking lot.

Car was wrongfully towed from apartment complex and suffered substantial damages while in tow companies possession.
My car was parked at the *** property on Thursday night April 11, 2019. I was parked in the front of the building in the "future resident" parking spot after office hours. The complex allows residents and guests to park in these spots as long as it is after their hours of operation, which is from 10am-7pm. I also have parking credentials to park on the property as well so my car is allowed to be parked on the property. I woke up the next morning and that is when I realized my car had been towed because it was not there. I went to the office and talked to the property manager about the situation and she had not received any form of communication stating who towed my car or why. She informed me that the policy is all towed cars should be documented and reported to the property managers but none of that was done. No one reached out to her or myself to inform either of us of the tow. I was also told that it was okay to park in this area, during the designated hours allowed, and she did not understand why my car got towed. According to the properties parking policy, and management, I was not in the wrong and should not have gotten my car towed. So she called the owner of the company, Mr. I, and he explained to her how one of his guys towed my car the night prior and also went on to explain how my tire busted so they went into my car, forcefully, to get my car jack and spare tire, proceeded to put it on, and when they pulled off afterwards the spare tire busted as well. They tried to say something was wrong with my car and that is why the tires busted, however there was nothing wrong with my car and the only thing I can say that probably caused that issue is the fact that when I park my car I always engage my e-brake. So my e-brake being engaged could've caused my tire and spare tire to blow. The property manager got Mr. I to agree to bring my car back to the property, he said all he had to do was get the tire replaced and he would bring it back. Hours go by and we get no word from Mr. I or any updates. The property manager gave him my number to communicate with me because she had to clock out at this point, but he never reached out to me to discuss the situation. I eventually got his number and contacted him about my car. We agreed to meet that night at his lot where he keeps towed cars at *** so that I can retrieve my vehicle. When we get in the gate the new tire is resting on my car and the spare tire is still on, blown to shreds. He explained to me what happened as far as both tires getting blown, and also explained how when the tire busted there were black marks all around that area of the car that he or one of his drivers wiped off and tried to clean. There are scrapes on that side of my car also that were not originally there and Mr. I even asked me if they were there before which I replied and said no. He was also explaining how they had to forcefully get into my car and get my spare tire and my jack out of my car because my jack was also laying on the ground next to the new tire. So I helped him remove my shredded spare tire to put on the new one that he got. I got in my car and started driving off of the lot and noticed that my "Brake Lamp Light" notification light was illuminated on my dashboard, whatever they did messed with my braking system apparently because that light was not on prior to them towing my car. All of this occurred on Friday night April 12, 2019 so it was too dark to see any damages to the car at this time other than the one spot we viewed together and my "Brake Lamp Light" that was on. I checked my car again first thing Saturday morning April 13, 2019 and this is when I noticed the extent of the damages to my car. I messaged him to discuss imbursement to pay for the damages to my car, and sent him pictures as well. Mr. I and his associates denied any wrongdoing and refused to pay for the damages. He told me to call my insurance.

Desired Outcome

I am seeking full imbursement associated with fixing the extent of all of the damages incurred to my vehicle by Mr. W company and his asssociates while my car was in their possession including any body work, framework, painting, and brake work as well. Or full reimbursement of the fore mentioned issues if I have to go through my insurance to get it fixed, plus any other applicable fees.

Ingram's Towing Service Response • Apr 27, 2019

On April 11,2018 , the customers vehicle was towed from Blvd 98 after violating the parking policies. The customer was illegally parked in a "Future Resident" parking spot in the apartment complex. The car was towed by one of my workers and in the process of towing the vehicle , the customers tire popped at no fault of the driver. The driver had to pull to the side of the road and change the tire using the spare that was located in the customers trunk. The next day when he called to get his car , he was made aware of what happened with his tire and he advised the owner that he drove on his spare for two weeks and he was aware that he needed another tire. We went out and bought him a tire for his car and put the tire on once he came to pick up his car from our tow lot. The car was given back to the customer for free due to miscommunication between a new employee in the front office. About two days after the customer came and got his car , he called the owner stating that he seen scratches on his car where the tire was. The customer was referred to his insurance because he stated that someone broke into his car and broke his ignition switch etc.

Customer Response • May 03, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I was not "illegally parked" as fore mentioned. It was after office hours so "future resident" parking serves as guest parking or in essence "open" parking. I discussed this incident with the office management and they told me that parking in the "future resident" parking spot is permitted to everyone after the office is closed. If I were parked there during office hours and Mr. Ingram's employee towed my car during the day then he would be absolutely right. However I was parked in this space after hours and my car was towed in the middle of the night so that completely discredits the claims and motives for my car being towed in the first place. Also I know that I was wrongfully towed because I am the only person to be towed from this parking spot after hours. The office management has no history of anyone else's car, that was parked after office hours, being towed from this spot even though people park there every night, I am actually the first instance of this happening that they can recollect. People still park there now, you could drive past the property at any time of the night and see cars parked in "future resident" parking. So I refute the whole idea of me parking "illegally" because it is not accurate. Secondly, we did discuss the spare tire and that is honestly water under the bridge at this point. He put a new tire on my car so I have no issue there. It is the actual damages to my car that are the problem, on top of the unwarranted towing of my car, which brings me to my final point. When I reached out to the company to discuss what happened to my car, it was the next day after I retrieved my vehicle the night before. I got my car the night of April 12, 2019 and I reached out to him midday on April 13, 2019, I still have the messages, call log, and time stamp from these conversations, and I discussed with them the damages on my car that were not there prior to it being towed. Mind you my car stays locked in a garage when I am home, so it is not possible for someone else or their vehicle to have caused these damages to my car. Also I never stated that my ignition switch was broke, that was never a complaint because my ignition switch is completely fine. However there is a part of my door panel that is broken off from where they used their tools to get into my car, dent on my door frame from them applying pressure to use their tools to get into my car, brake system failures from towing my car with the e-brake engaged, and a host of other problems that I have discussed with Mr. Ingram and his associates, along with pictures of all the damages we discussed. The company does not want to admit fault to their negligence, mishandling, and unwarranted towing of my car from the apartment property nor are they willing to accept responsibility and accountability for their actions. I have been communicating with my insurance and I am currently waiting to have an adjuster come out to look at my car to assess the damages and costs of repairs, also any potential increase in my insurance coverage charge because of this mishap. I am seeking full imbursement or reimbursement of repair costs to my vehicle plus any additional costs and fees associated with these repairs as I previously stated before.

My car was towed from an apartment complex in which I was a visitor and I was incorrectly parked not in a visitor spot. I am not disputing the reason for my car being towed I broke the rules and I understand those consequences. However the sign posted on the entrance of the parking deck in which the business name is advertised says the towing fee is $180. When I contacted the number I was told I had to pay $275 in all cash to get my car out of impound. A substantial difference from the advertised fee of $180. It was explained the extra charges were due to a storage fee and because I had an all wheel drive SUV. While these statements are correct those fees are no where advertised in your towing fee price. Why even advertise the fee if they are not accurate and other fees are not disclosed. Furthermore $275 seems like an astronomical charge for towing a car less than 10 miles and having it sit overnight. I was also not provided a receipt for this 'all cash transaction? which seems like shady business.

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment I would like a fund of the difference I paid from the advertised price on the sign. I paid $275 compared to the $180 advertised fee. I have a picture to prove the price on the sign. I would also like the sign amended to correctly reflect all 'extra fees? from the car being towed or the pricing removed all together.

Ingram's Towing Service Response

The customer xxxxx was illegally parked at xxxxx. The apartment complex has a copy of a new sign that reflects new prices and have had it for quite awhile but has not hung in up on their property. Impound transactions are cash only as many customers in the past have used a debit or credit card and cancel transactions which results in a loss for the business.
