Dear [redacted],Thank you for contacting InHome Oxygen and Medical Equipment regarding the recent customer complaint by [redacted]. We have taken the time to review the complaint and would like to iterate the course of events pertaining to [redacted]’s...

circumstances.[redacted], in fact, did receive a hospital bed from InHome Oxygen and Medical Equipment on 9/9/2013. Her insurance company, at the time, authorized the bed and covered the bed for 80% of the contracted rate with a patient responsibility of 20%,She changed insurance companies effective 1/1/2014 and failed to notify InHome Oxygen; however, when InHome Oxygen and Medical Equipment gathered her new information in mid January and attempted to obtain authorization from that insurance company, it was denied due to failing to meet the criteria for medical necessity. Her insurance company sent a letter of denial to the patient with that determination. We immediately attempted to reach [redacted] and spoke with a gentleman who identified himself as [redacted]’s grandson. He said that [redacted] was in New Jersey but would contact her to let her know that we needed to speak to her about the bed coverage.[redacted] called back and spoke to our billing and authorizations clerk, [redacted], in mid February when it was explained to her in detail that the insurance company denied the bed and that we needed to pick the bed up otherwise, she was responsible for monthly rental charges on the bed. We then attempted to pick up the bed, after that conversation with [redacted], and were denied access into the home by the gentleman we believe to be her grandson.Monthly charges accrued for the rental of the bed and monthly statements were sent to [redacted] at her home address. In May, we received our statement back in the mail with a message that stated she was "temporarily away". That is when we had no recourse but to place her account into the collection agency we deal with. We had 4+ months of exhausted attempts to resolve.[redacted] called in June and spoke to me. [redacted] (General Manager), I explained to [redacted] that the balance acquired is for her coinsurance from the beginning of the rental AND private monthly rental charges from the beginning of the year. In order to stop the charges, we would have to be able to pick the bed up, which was agreed to and completed on 6/16/2014.InHome Oxygen and Medical Equipment has adjusted off April, May, and June (which is half the private rental) as a good faith effort with the patient but September coinsurance, October coinsurance, November coinsurance, December coinsurance, January private rental, February private rental, and March private rental will be due fora total of $469.36 (invoice attached)We feel that is a fair resolution and would hope the patient agrees.Once again, thank you for your time In this matter and we hope you feel we did our part in attempting to resolve the complaint with the customer.Sincerely,

Review: For over 8 years I have used this company for a use of a rented bed My last bed from there was so old I was able to keep it. I rented a new bed ,I called my Insurance to find out that they had denied it back in January . with my new Insurance I need a letter from my Dr as to why I needed this .I have COPD, Chronic asthma ,as well as other illness, as of Jan 2014 My new insurance denied the payment of this bed .I NEVER was notify. I never went after it because I always dealt with this company and my other Insurance paid everything so I wasn't aware of this UNTIL I get a bill from a [redacted]! I called immediate to oxygen supplies to speak to [redacted] ,he is the President there ,not only that but he was a good friend of my late husband . well I was told he wasn't there, I asked for his voice mailed ,I was told he does not have a voice mail .I called back the next day June 11,2014 and spoke to "the office manager" [redacted]. After being put on hold for almost 10 minutes she come back and She tells me that they send me "notice" and they keep coming back ! I asked her how is it that now I get a bill from a collection agency ,her response to me was "I DONT KNOW BUT ITS NOT GOING NOWHWERE !!! I was shocked! I asked her I want the bed to be removed from my home and she said we can do that but that bill is not going anywhere!. I said that I will try to have my grand son at my house so they can pick it up since I am being charged $125.00 a day. the reason I am not at my house now is because I fell and broke my foot with two toes. Im pending surgery .but that's a different chapter that has nothing to do with this.Desired Settlement: I really would like my credit to be restore with this company and that I will not be found liable for any of these charges. As per many of other American I am on Social Security And I am on a limited income. I do Thank you for your help
