to sit through the entire thing and paid $cash and used a $gift certificate to make up the
differenceAs the customer is not of the proper age to obtain a tattoo without parental consent a form
was signed by the parent giving consent for this tattoo to be applied and copies of both IDs were taken
Also, the customer Was required to fill out a contract prior to this tattooOne that very clearly states in

Review: I recently wen to the ink well in Nanty Glo pa and got a tattoo well part of a tattoo I only had one session but the tattoo is so obscured the lines are so inconsistent and all over the place not only that but there is ink where is not supposed to be I am embarrassed to take my shirt off and to have this on my body permenately I have talked to other artist ones who have been tattooing up too 20 years and the all say the same he went to deep the lines are messed up and it needs to be fixed he had even went over sopts of the tattoo with no ink but a dry needle when confronted he tried to explain that it was on purpose and a technique of tattooing when other artist have said this is not a proper technique this is an embarrassment I can not fix myself nor do I want!Desired Settlement: I would like for them to pay to have this fixed they put something terrible on my body permenately and it needs to be fixed which I do not have the money to fix their mistake they have even denied a refund I feel its their responsibility to fix this under the supply of goods and services act of 1982 this service was not done with skill or care!

Response:

To whom it may concern:

This letter is in response to the complaint received 08/18/2014. The customer in question here inquired

about receiving a tattoo that he was informed would take more than one session. An tstimated time of

8-9 hours was quoted due to the magnitude of this piece. The customer insisted that Oiey would be fine

to sit through the entire thing and paid $150 cash and used a $50 gift certificate to make up the

difference. As the customer is not of the proper age to obtain a tattoo without parental consent a form

was signed by the parent giving consent for this tattoo to be applied and copies of both IDs were taken.

Also, the customer Was required to fill out a contract prior to this tattoo. One that very clearly states in

bold lettering that “No Refunds will be given for any reason”. They sat for roughly, 4~ minutes to obtain

what is done thus far of said tattoo. This amount of time was not sufficient enough t&completely finish

the outline. In addition, the customer was unable to sit still in certain areas causing s~eral lines to not

be completely straight. The customer claimed that he was unable to finish and made an appointment to

return when the area that had been worked on was healed.

Later that evening, we received a message over Facebook asking If it was possible to let some of the

money that was paid returned because they were not able to get the complete piece finished. It was

explained once again to the customer that he had signed a contract that clearly stated no refunds would

be issued. The customer stated that this was fine.

The next morning, we received a new message stating that because the tattoo was ufinished and

some of the lines were not completely straight they were going to take legal action. And, it was

explained to the customer that obtaining a tattoo is a process and that an 8 hour tattoo can simply NOT

be completed in 40 minutes. We offered to meet with the customer AND the parent who had signed

consent to discuss in person as opposed to over the internet to listen to their concerns and explain yet

again how much work still had to go into said tattoo. The customer refused to bring t4te parent who

signed consent in order to discuss. Instead, they came alone to ‘show” the tattoo. For a third time it

was explained to the customer that a tattoo of this magnitude takes time and that o~ can not judge

what the finished piece will look like based off of a very short session. It was explained to the customer

that although no refunds would be given, all remaining sittings would not require any payment as the

tattoo was paid for. The customer insists that several other artists had “looked’ at pictures of the tattoo

and said that it was horrible. This is subject to opinion and opinion alone. We expressed to the

customer that in this situation, the tattoo is not going to look right until the piece is completely finished

and explained that we were still more than willing to finish the piece according to what was originally

planned. The customer claimed that he did not wish to have this tattoo finished at our location and that

he wanted to go elsewhere. Although we hate for any work to leave unfinished, this is the customer’s

choice. In making this choice to go elsewhere, they are in no way entitled to receive money back. There

is not a “buyer’s remorse” period on a tattoo.

A week or two passed without any further contact from the customer until I received; phone call. The

customer had called in order to discuss once again their concerns. All of these had been addressed

previously- I explained for the fourth time how tattooing is a process and reassured tile customer that

when finished ,the tattoo would be a beautiful piece. The customer claimed that he had to attend a

consult scheduled with another artist before deciding if he wished to have the tattoo finished or not

where it was started.

Nothing else was mentioned of this matter until I received (on Facebook) yet another message

where the customer stated that he would not be returning to have the tattoo finished and requesting a

refund of $50’. I explained AGAIN that according to the contract that he signed, no refunds would be

given and that although disappointed that he would not be returning to finish the tattoo I would respect

his decision.

The customer still has the ability to have this piece completed. We are in no way refusing to complete

this tattoo. lam including a sample copy of the contract that is required at this location in order to even

obtain a tattoo. If it is necessary, I also have copies of all messages sent and received via Facebook

regarding this interaction. I do not believe it is the obligation of The Ink Well to pay for this customer to

have this tattoo finished by a different artist when we have explained time and time gain the process

of receiving a tattoo in addition to repeatedly attempting to have the customer return to finish this. Per

the documentation signed before receiving the tattoo, the customer agreed to all the terms laid out. As

of this time, we have exhausted all attempts to reason with this matter.
