Tell us why hereThe complainant is correct that installing ball joints, wheel alignment and installing four tires are what we had agreed uponHe brought us in one ball joint with the vehicle and upon inspecting the vehicle we saw the other ball joint was loose as wellOne of the days of
downtime was waiting for him to bring in the other ball joint (we usually refuse to install customer’s parts for warranty issues but we were trying to help out a new customer)He was correct that the job was taking longer than anticipated but not for the correct reasonsGary didn’t just keep disappearingHe was having some medical issues where he was too dizzy to stand most of the time and therefore can’t very well work on vehiclesMy other tech was a no call no show and two sets of hands were required for certain parts of the jobHe might have called once to check on the progress but otherwise I made sure to call him every day to let him know my setbacks and make sure it was ok or we would have given him one of our personal cars to drive in the meantimeHe always told me it was not a problem and just to keep him updatedYes he did not have his own vehicle for Christmas but we did make sure he had our personal CR-V at that time so he did not have to go through the long holiday weekend without some sort of transportationI am a little confused with what he said about our encounter when he came to pick up his vehicleGary had a meeting with his little brother from the Revdex.comS program and was not there at the time I remember him walking in and us having at least a minutes conversation where he did not ask any questions about the vehicle (to my recollection)I apologized to him and thanked him profusely for being patient with us on the usually long time frame we had his vehicleI figured the conversation was done and told him that the keys were in the vehicleHe never tried to stop me to talk about the vehicle so I was unaware that I upset him in this way.After doing an alignment you need to take the vehicle for a test drive to make sure that the steering wheel is straight to verify you did the alignment correctlyOn that test drive there was no sensation of a loose wheelWe are not like most shops and use torque sticksWe hand torque all wheels to make sure they are all even and will hold the wheel on properlyI always have my customers sign an agreement on their receipt that states to make sure the wheel doesn’t fall off I need to re-torque the lugnuts once miles are put onHe was supposed to come back in for that and never saw him afterHe was supposed to bring in the rest of the payment by Friday noon and I never saw himIt wasn’t until after that did I get a very aggravated phone message on a Saturday expressing his issues with the alleged loose lugnuts and accused me of calling the police on his expired license plates because he got pulled over shortly after leaving our shopI can’t say for sure if the lugnuts came loose or notIt is a possibility but that is why we have them sign and say they will come back for us to double checkWhat I don’t understand is if this truly did happen right after he left then why did it take him four days to call and let us know that happened.See attatchment to verify I had his signature for re-torqueing the lug nuts and a signature at the bottom saying he would pay the rest of the bill.Thank you Erin ***
