To Whom it May Concern,Thank you for bringing Mrs. [redacted]'s complaint to my attention. The guests had two rooms for two evenings. As mentioned in the complaint they took "all" their belongings which made us clean the room as a check out, not a stay over. Removing garbage, changing sheets etc......

The donuts were left with the trash and taken out. No baggage was left in the room. I have wonderful surveillance here on the property to confirm that. After listening to their accusations on a staff member taking "boots" authorities were called. They looked at the tape to confirm nothing was taken. No police report was ever given to me, Mrs. [redacted] might have to get it for herself,  if they have one. With her being upset, I offered to put them up at a different hotel for them to feel "safe" and they refused, staying at my property another evening.  She did not pay at the property but through a third party and I told her to have them contact me and we will resolve the payment issue. I never heard another thing.  Thank you for taking time to look this over. I feel, as a "seasoned" manager, I did all I could for these guests. Once again. after talking with them and the authorities, offering a refund or putting them up somewhere else, they continued to stay here. Thanks again.

Review: To Whom it May Concern: I had reservations for 2 rooms at Inn Am[redacted]a in Lewiston , Idaho for 10/9 and 10/10/15. The rooms were paid for through EXPEDIA. Our son and his wife arrived late on 10/9/15 with minimal luggage, a bag containing a pair of shoes, a book, a magazine and papers for her dissertation. We had travelled from Illinois and brought 6 dozen specialty donuts, which we placed in their room, on the TV credenza. The next morning 1/10/15 we left early to attend to business in Grangeville. My son and his wife took their travel bags but left the donuts and other bag in the motel room to retrieve upon our return the evening of 10/10/15. Upon our return the donuts (6 dozen) and the bag were gone. As stated before, we had paid for the room and had not checked out. We reported the missing objects to the front desk clerk, [redacted]. He contacted his manager, [redacted], who told him he would check into the situation on Monday 10/12/15. Our son was leaving early 10/11/15. After multiple requests, [redacted] came in to review the tapes. He also indicated that while his staff had “taken” the donuts they had not taken the bag of belongings. The excuse given was that they were told they could have them (the donuts) because the people in the room had left. [redacted] was extremely defensive and reluctant to admit to or compensate us for missing items. He barely stopped with his defensive communication to even listen to the concerns. Finally , he indicated he would “comp us for the rooms” in lieu of the stolen food. Given his demeanor and attitude, we filed a police report regarding the loss of the items. An officer came and took a report. We have yet to receive a copy of the report and or compensation from [redacted]. We were never “comped” for the rooms or the stolen food. [redacted]’s behavior was irritation, inflammatory and condescending. My guess is this is not the first time there have been “occurrence” at Inn America. Unfortunately, we have not been able to find out who actually owns the facility. They also had a stairwell blocked with broken mattress and bed, a potential hazard to guests. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. I doubt [redacted] will correct this situation since he didn’t correct as he said he would. Maybe this is a pattern for his managerial practice. We do know that we will not recommend Inn Am[redacted]a to anyone and will share our story with as many people as we are able. It’s not about the donuts (value $60.00) it is about the lack of honesty and excuses given to us. Given [redacted]’s behavior this letter will probably be insignificant to him and his staff. They had no right to anything in that room, as it was paid for. He just gave a lot of excurses, covered up theft and is generally a poor excuse for a manager. If there is any outcome to this please let me know. I am sending a copy to [redacted] so he knows that others have heard about this event. Not that he will care. [redacted]
