Innerspace Electric Reviews (1)

I really wish folks would be honest, but then, they wouldn't have anything to cry about.
The customer pleaded for immediate service. I pulled a crew off of a scheduled project in order to help him out.
Based on a phone conversation I told him it sounded like something that could be found in 4 to 5...

hours.
We understand people live in their homes, and do not expect anyone's him to be spotless, but my crew had to spend an excessive amount of time moving stacks of boxes from one place to another just to get at buried plugs. He never offered to help clear a away, and got upset because he expected us to move his junk around for free. If the home is cluttered, how could he possibly expect my crew to get to the places they needed to?
I do not operate a moving company, if it takes 15 minutes to clear a path to a plug then they are still on the clock, if you don't like that then move the stuff yourself.
My journeyman called me extremely frustrated between having to move boxes into a pile to get to a plug, only to have to move those same boxes to get to a different one, and their cat wouldn't leave them alone. He asked them to pleas deal with the cat, they would move it to another room, and it would just come right back and become a nuisance again.
They were dealing with extreme issues that should not have been issues, in addition to the home had a lot of illegal electrical work done by others. There was obviously no permit for a good portion of the remodel.
There were live cables laying in the attic, building cables incorrectly installed at the breaker panel, and an entire extra circuit panel that was hidden seven feet off the ground behind a shelf full of stuff.
In spite of all this they worked very hard to find the problem. After my journeyman called I personally went down there. I arrived just after [redacted] did.
I attempted to assist in the troubleshoot, but [redacted] continued to ask questions, forcing me to stop and explain every single step.
He asked my journeyman a question hew should have asked me, and became upset over the answer, it was an obvious excuse to become belligerent and ordered us off the property.
This happened just after I informed him that even once the problem was discovered, by Washington State law, I am not allowed to modify any part of a circuit without bringing it up to code.
This is not an option. If I do not comply with Washington State Electrical Code I can lose my license, as well as it would leave a hazardous and illegal condition.
I am not willing to jeopardize my career because someone doesn't want to do the right thing.
He wrote a check for the crews labor, I did not charge for my own time, and we left.
If you check most of my reviews I alweays go out of my way to help people out.
I understood he was over stressed, the journeyman was already on overtime, and just wanted to go home, it was apparent in his lack pf patience with the cat and having to constantly move boxes.
I have never had anything like that happen before in my life, and felt bad.
Even though  I knew we did nothing wrong, I called him up and offered to come out on my own time for free to find the problem. He would have to fix the illegal work himself, I did not even want to perform any further work there.
I was very nice and he thanked me for the call, and said he understood there were issues on both sides.
His check then bounced.
Instead of filing fraud charges, I allowed him to write a new check, and I cut the bill in half, to $400.00
So when he says it is a $800 bill, that is also just not quite true, it was $400, and I would up losing.
Like I said, I really wish people would tell the whole truth.
I'm not saying my journeyman was perfect, he was not. But I did everything I could to fix the problem, including cutting the bill in half instead of suing for intentionally writing a bad check.
If anyone else is considering doing any work for him, be aware, all his past illegal work will fail someday, and I'm just glad I can't be held responsible.
