We purchased kitchen cabinets from Innovative Cabinets & Design and signed a proposal on July 19 2014. Under the 'bid description' section of the proposal, item #8 stated that 'The cabinetry exposed sides will be wood veneer'. The total amount of $18,971.46 (including delivery) was paid to said business prior to delivery.Upon delivery, only one exposed cabinet was wood veneer. The rest were not. I have attempted to resolve this issue with the owner, [redacted], via phone calls and email, to no avail. The offer to split half the cost of the wood veneer skins with me is not satisfactory.Product_Or_Service: Kitchen cabinetsAccount_Number: Proposal date 7/19/2Desired SettlementI would like Innovative Cabinets to remedy their non-performance in this matter. All exposed sides of cabinetry to be delivered as per signed proposal ie: finished skins in wood veneer. Business Response We are very disappointed that [redacted] is not satisfied with his cabinet purchase. On the day [redacted] finalized his order, we spent several hours making changes to his design in order to meet his stated budget. By making changes to the design, door style, finished ends, etc., we were able to reduce the sales price from about $27,000 to down below $20,000. Of course one of the changes was to change the finished ends to matching wood laminate in lieu of wood veneer. This was a considerable cost savings and was done in the presence of [redacted]. I believe [redacted] must have misunderstood what "matching color wood laminate" would actually be. The designer [redacted] worked with believes he explained it to him properly.Our first notice of this issue came from [redacted]'s father who called and became very aggressive and used foul language during his first and several subsequent phone conversations with our office. We agree that there was a clerical error on the proposal; this clerical error was because of the many changes made with [redacted] and the proposal template was changed quickly, but not thoroughly, while [redacted] was waiting.We have explained this unintentional error and have offered to split the cost of the wood veneer skins with [redacted]. Considering that [redacted] was not charged for the wood veneer ends and the clerical error, the offer to split the cost should be considered a reasonable compromise.After emailing [redacted] the above offer, we have not heard from him. The letter from the Revdex.com was our first, and only, notice that he has rejected the offer.
