Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint The blower was running non-stop, BUT IT WAS BLOWING COLD AND WORKING IT JUST WOULD NOT SHUT OFF When the technician arrived, it was working and cooling the house He opened up the panel, messed with wires, arcing them together which cause two loud pops, and the house filled up with smoke As soon as that happened, everything quit working He burnt our system up! The blower motor, relays, sensors, etcwere burnt from him touching wires together! When we contacted the home warranty people they told me I had to take it up with the contractor because I needed to file a claim against his insurance and that they don't have anything they can do in regards to what bad service he provided to us I also want to note that this was a lie, that our contract with our home warranty company did NOT start the day of the call for him coming out We had a different home warranty company for about years, and switched to the new one, which was in effect days after we purchased it, which started the *** of *** *** Our house is a ***, our unit is not over years old to start with We have had work put into this unit and had MANY components replaced including sensors, coils, blower, relays, thermostat, etcseveral times before There was no reason for him to cause us over $worth of additional damages to our unit just to try and force us to buy a brand new unit from him
Regards,

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  I have had it with this business trying to make accusations and assumptions to put everyone else off as the scape goat on this matter.  [redacted] was not present when this happened either! My [redacted] was with my [redacted], and she called me when this was all taking place and the technician was there.  She said there were two loud pops and the house filled up with smoke.  I heard her even ask the tech if she should get her child and get out of the house or not even!  [redacted] declined the coverage because of the lies that the tech gave them as a diagnosis over the phone.  [redacted] went off what the tech told them had happened to it, and never bothered to tell [redacted] that they touched wires together and burnt up/shorted out the blower motor on the system.  An accident did happen, your tech touched or crossed wires causing the system to short out.  We had to replace several items that were burnt up as a result of this "accident" that you are not taking responsibility for.  [redacted] initially told me when I called that we needed to file a claim on [redacted] insurance, because [redacted] is not responsible for the errors or problems that the tech caused and we had to take it up with [redacted] directly, so we did.  We have had several AC companies out since the incident, and they have all indicated that it was burnt up from the tech crossing wires, wiring it up wrong, touching the wires causing an arc, etc. And yes, we most certainly went with another company after you all darn near burnt the entire system up!  No one in their right minds would have trusted you to fix it after you wont accept your responsibility for negligance first off, and caused further damages and wouldnt own up to it!  [redacted] is just in the business of causing further issues so that your whole system needs replaced and costs you more money.  They don't get paid enough from [redacted] to cover the work in their opinions, so they try to make it worse, so you will end up paying even more for a small repair, by telling you that you need an entirely new system for thousands of dollars, which is not true.  The warranty company has nothing to do with this at this point.  The point is that [redacted] caused damages and burnt up the blower motor and they should pay for it!
Here is the email from another company (who also did not fix it for us) based on their opinion of what they found.
"The only way to short out the blower motor would be to call for two speeds at once.Example high and low energized at same time. The tech could have told the home warranty the motor was bad and left out the fact he accidentally shorted it out. Then you would have been happy, the company wouldn't have lost money and all of this could have been avoided."
I am by no means an AC or electrician, but common sense prevails here.  IF THE BLOWER IS RUNNING, WORKING AND COOLING WHEN THE TECH ARRIVED, AND THEN IT IS BURNT UP AFTER TWO LOUD POPS AND THE HOUSE FILLS WITH SMOKE, AND THEN THE BLOWER ISN'T WORKING AT ALL ANYMORE (NOT TURNING ON, BLOWING OR COOLING AT ALL ANYMORE)...IT GOT BURNT UP BY THE TECH WORKING ON IT.  I f I take my car into the shop, and it starts and runs just fine, and I only need an oil change, when I go back to get it they tell me the engine is burnt up, then they must have done something wrong to my car.  It's really a common sense math problem.  It is blowing when you arrive...you start to work on it, and it no longer blows...you did something to make it no longer blow!
Regards,[redacted]

I was originally dispatched to this call through [redacted].  I informed them of the problem I discovered and what it would take to repair the unit. This included replacing the blower motor, sequencer, and blower relay as well as cleaning the blower wheel and coil.  [redacted]...

[redacted] denied the claim due to the fact the home owner called in for service the same day as purchasing their policy as well as a lack of yearly maintenance.I was also instructed by [redacted] at that time to leave and that they would contact the home owners.I feel that we should have never been dispatched to the call in the first place under those circumstances. I have since spoke directly to the home owner who expects me to cover the cost of the motor and labor which I cannot justify. The blower motor was already shorted or it would not have been running continuous with no call from the t-stat.Also the entire unit in question is over 20 years old and in horrible shape, it is beyond it life expectancy and needs replaced.
