We have not receive a call form [redacted] Auto Part about the fuel pump. We called to [redacted] and asked if they had look at it. [redacted] said that they are still looking at it.  So we ask [redacted] to give us a paper that confirming that [redacted] still has the fuel pump. The document below is [redacted] confirms.

July 9, 2017   Revdex.com-Maricopa County Campus 1010 E. Missouri Ave Phoenix, AZ 85014   Re:  ID#[redacted]
On 5/27/17 this customer came for a tune up which requires changing the sparkplugs, and sparkplug wires.  He paid and everything was fine when he left. ...

On 6/20/17, he returned and said that we damaged his truck; specifically, he said that a headlight was not working and that his truck was turning off when he would the A/C on.  The headlight nor the truck turning off when the A/C is on has anything to do with the tune up.  The bumper below the headlight has damage to it as if it was hit or as if the truck hit something.  He wanted us to fix these issues for the same amount that he had already paid (tune up work). I informed him that the work we do is guaranteed.  The parts have a warranty as dictated by the manufacturer.  That same day (6/20/17) we checked the tune up work that we did and everything was fine. He wanted us to do a diagnostic check without paying for it so it was not done.  This is an addition charge because it requires that we check then entire vehicle using computer systems and checking various pressures.     We thought it was the low fuel pressure that was casing the truck to turn off when the A/C was on so we checked the fuel pressure in front of him and it was lower than what it should be.  I informed him that if we replace the fuel pump that would help solve the problem of his truck turning off when the A/C was on.  I recommended that he replace his water pump, radiator, and vacuum hoses.  I could tell by just looking at water pump and radiator that they were both leaking.  The vacuum hoses were falling and were rotting.  He asked us to replace his fuel pump and vacuum hoses. When we finished replacing the fuel pump and vacuum hoses, we put $15 worth of gasoline to test drive his truck.  During the test drive the truck did not turn off when the A/C was turned on.  He paid and left with his truck a day or two later.     A couple of days later, he came back in with his check engine light on.  We put the scanner on the truck to check the codes and it showed that the fuel was too rich, meaning too much gasoline was going in the engine. He did not want to pay for any additional services at this time. Since he did not want to pay for any repairs I told him that we could turn the check engine light off and that if it turned back on to bring it back and I would run a complete diagnostic test without charging him for the diagnostics test.  He agreed and left.  A few minutes later he called me and said that the truck was not turning on and he did not make it home.  I told him to bring it in the next day so that we could check it.  The next day he drove his truck to my shop.  We asked that he leave his so that we could have ample time to check it.  He asked for a ride because he had to run a few errands.  He was given a ride in his own truck so that we could also test drive it.  The truck made it to where he wanted to go and back to my shop running, but a little shaky.  We did a complete diagnostic test and we found injector #4 of the engine was staying open longer than what it should.  This causes too much fuel to enter into the engine.  We informed him of this and he did not want to pay for any addition repairs.  He wanted us to do this work for what he paid for (fuel pump, vacuum hoses, and tune up work).  He left and said he was going to get the law involved.  On 7/5/17, I was not at the shop but I was informed that He called and he stated that he was told that the fuel pump was the issue.  We told him that the fuel pump had a warranty.  He informed us that the fuel pump was already removed and asked for a new fuel pump.  We agreed and told him to bring it in so that we could return it to the auto part store and replace it.  It was brought to us by someone else with a business card from “Auto Electrico y Mecanica Rivera” [redacted].  When we looked over the fuel pump it did not look like the one put in his vehicle and it looked like burn marks as if someone heated it up with a lighter.  This seemed suspicious to us because the fuel pump is inside the gas tank so there is nothing that would cause the burn marks.  We sent the fuel pump to the auto part store ([redacted] Auto Part Store- where we purchased it from).  They also thought the burn mark was suspicious and they said they were going to send it out to be inspected.  As of today, we have not head back from [redacted]      Attached are copies of the Auto Repair Order from 5/27/17 and 6/20/17.  Desired Settlement: We wish to resolve this issue as soon as possible.  If we hear back that the fuel pump was defective then we will gladly exchange it for a new one and call “Auto Electrico y Mecanica Rivera” to pick it up.
