While ignoring my better judgment, (I don't usually take on previously started jobs) It's unfortunate that I took on this jobI had originally quoted this job and spent so much time designing and helping *** pick out materials and didn't originally get the job, she ended up hiring someone else
and when *** called me Months later to ask for my help, (the contractor bailed out on her) I went out to see the project and the way she made it seem was that the contractor had taken advantage of her and I felt so bad for her, that I agreed to helpUnfortunately, shortly after getting started, I started to notice that *** has a very difficult time making decisions that she can stick with, she changes her mind time, after time, after timeAnd not only does she change her mind, but she also comes up with some unusual ideas & requests, that only lead to a big waste of timeI can truly say that despite all the waste of time and confusion, I really tried getting her Job done on a timely and professional manner, but unfortunately as time went by, it only became more and more difficult to work with herAnd as for her list of complaints, here are my answersThe storage under her bench seat: unfortunately this bench seat started out at a good size bench that I had agreed to make her a door to utilize the space as a storage (for a few extra shampoo bottles, soaps, etc...) But after changing her mind about the desired size times, (I actually had to Re-built it times and the last time, I had to have the Custom bath tub Re-Hot mopped) we ended up with a MUCH smaller bench that would make it next to impossible to make a storage out of it and I informed her of this many months ago, so why she is filing a complaint about this, is really beyond my comprehensionFooting Under House; She was concerned about the integrity of this footing because the wall above it, is showing cracks on the drywall, and even though I knew it was not a foundation problem, but instead a bad Sheetrock install/tape job, (by the original contractor she hired) I still cut out a hole on the floor to inspect it for her because she just "had to make sure it was safe" and once again, I informed her of this matter and don't know why she is complaining about thisAttic Insulation & Rat Droppings; I informed her that we installed insulation between ea2Xand as for the rat droppings in the area we insulated, it was all removedPaint & Texture Wall in Hallway: I told her it would get done at the very end with any other final paint touch up that may be neededBut let me explain why this was needed in the first place, after being all done with installing her new doors, texturing and painting, she decided that she wanted her master bedroom + hall closet swinging doors, replaced with pocket doors, so I had to cut & frame walls to make this happen for her, and that caused the need for additional drywall repairsPlugs in master & spare room: once again, after being all done with painting and electrical, she decides that she needs to cancel plugs in spare bedroom where she changed her mind again on some built in cabinets/desk we had installed in her closet space, (she had me remove the cabinets) and now also warned the desk height plug removed, and not only that but she now wanted a new plug ran to her master bedroom wall for her to plug in a lamp and her cell phone charger, so I asked her to measure her Bed and night stand + mark the wall for me, on where she wanted the plug installed, which she never did, but kept asking me to install this plug, but knowing her by now, I didn't want to install a plug until she approved the spot she wanted it, so I made a special trip to her house (when she would be home on a weekend) to help her figure out the position of this plug and I got all this done for herSo why she is complaining about this, is really beyond my compehansion"Faulty Fans": I Lost Count on how many times she complained about this, And how many times I showed her how to operate the remotes, it's really not complicated to use a fan/light remote, but since she had her previous contractor install several can lights in each of her two small rooms and she had him install a separate light switch for eaCan light(She has like light switches for eaRoom) and if the fan/light switch is on the off position and she tries turning on the light or fan by using the remote and it don't turn on, she then goes to the fan and starts pulling on the chain switches and since the wall switch is on off, she gets frustrated and even broke the chain switch once (which I had to repair) so with me having already explained to her that she needed to make sure to always leave the fan/light wall switch + Chain switches on the on position, and only use the remote to operateI don't know what else to do for herTV cable & Plug; Once again, after being done with all painting and electrical, she decides to request a plug and coax cable for a wall mounted tv in kitchen, which I crawled in her 120* attic to take care of for her and it's all doneWhy is she is complaining about this? It got doneShower wallThe Middle One" and we had already agreed that the shower finish wall would go up to the Ceiling but not on the ceiling because it's to heavy and I don't recommend installing it on ceilings, + the last time I met with her, she had actually decided on using one of the products I had originally showed her, I believe one of her friends liked it, so now she likes it too, But then a few days later she sends me an email asking me to give her a price to tile the shower instead of using a slab/sheet as she had originally requested and we had prepared the wall forSo once again, her changing her mind and confusing me after me thinking that the last time I met with her, might lead to me being able to finally finish her jobLaundry Light; Another extra / change order, after being done with all electrical, but she bougt it, and I already installed itSo once again, why is this on her list of complaints? I have no clue! Trench: she called a plumber because she has very low water pressure in her house and they told her to expose the pipe from main valve to her house valve, and she is simply stating that this is what she needs to do, mainly because I haven't been able to test her water heater for leaks before turning it on, due to there is very low water pressure, to truly test it for leaksPaint Floor Boards / wall base; after we finished painting the house and all other needed repairs Prior to installing laminate flooring, she decided that she wanted to re-paint her walls with a high gloss paint, and since I told her we couldn't help her with that, she said she would paint it her self, and the house sat unworked on for many months because she had surgery on her arm and couldn't paintBut once she finally finished painting it, I was planing on getting her scheduled to install laminate, and she told me she "first wanted to paint floor boards before they got installed, so I didn't schedule laminate install and was waiting for her to tell me wen she planned to have her floor boards painted, so I could get her on my schedule, and install laminate + floor boards at the same time, but that last time I went to her house, she had allready hired someone to install the Laminate, and unfortunately, they didn't have a clue on installing this laminate according to manufacturers requirements, And I advised her to call the person that installed it, and have them install it correctly or it will eventually get damaged, and I won't be able to help her with any claims against the product I sold herDrawer needs to move up: Per her request, I had udjusted the height position on several of her slide out cabinet drawers and then she decided, that she also wanted this one udjusted, which we did and it's all doneWhy complain about something that's done? The back door has a huge step down: I didn't build the house, but since she had asked my opinion on what could be done to make this safer for her in her older years, I advised her to have the contractor that was about to pour a new concrete driveway for her, to also pour a bigger step for her, so that she felt saferBut by now as I answer to all this complaints, I'm starting to get concerned about her memory, she just might be forgetting things, because besides the fact that she can't really make many decisions that she can stick to or seem to be happy with many of the decisions she makes, she is also complaining about so many things that are done or been allready discussed & answered to herAnd now about her settlement request; I have an Email from her (sent on 8-17-16) where she is telling me that she has given me 30K and requesting from me to give her all the change order expenses + expenses for all additional work she requestedAnd now she is saying that she paid out $50K? I'm not sure if she is forgetting things or what's really going on, but now that she has hired a 3RdContractor to finish her job, I will prioritize balancing out her job, so we can get all this behind usAnd for her to request for interest on holding her money + lost of income for not renting her place for the past months, I would recomend that she analyzes the true facts about why this project dragged on so long, and never got finished, before thinking this would even begin to be a fair request on her partI will email *** a job balance sheet on or beforeSeptember 19ThAnd once she reviews it, I can meet up with her to go over any questions she may have, so we can hopefully resolve this, and move on without any further conflicts*** *** ***

pick out materials and didn't originally get the job, she ended up hiring someone else and when [redacted] called me Months later to ask for my help, (the contractor bailed out on her) I went out to see the project and the way she made it seem was that the contractor had taken advantage of her and I felt so bad for her, that I agreed to help. Unfortunately, shortly after getting started, I started to notice that [redacted] has a very difficult time making decisions that she can stick with, she changes her mind time, after time, after time. And not only does she change her mind, but she also comes up with some unusual ideas & requests, that only lead to a big waste of time. I can truly say that despite all the waste of time and confusion, I really tried getting her Job done on a timely and professional manner, but unfortunately as time went by, it only became more and more difficult to work with her. And as for her list of 13 complaints, here are my answers. 1. The storage under her bench seat: unfortunately this bench seat started out at a good size bench that I had agreed to make her a door to utilize the space as a storage (for a few extra shampoo bottles, soaps, etc...) But after changing her mind about the desired size 3 times, (I actually had to Re-built it 3 times and the last time, I had to have the Custom bath tub Re-Hot mopped) we ended up with a MUCH smaller bench that would make it next to impossible to make a storage out of it and I informed her of this many months ago, so why she is filing a complaint about this, is really beyond my comprehension. 2. Footing Under House; She was concerned about the integrity of this footing because the wall above it, is showing cracks on the drywall, and even though I knew it was not a foundation problem, but instead a bad Sheetrock install/tape job, (by the original contractor she hired) I still cut out a hole on the floor to inspect it for her because she just "had to make sure it was safe" and once again, I informed her of this matter and don't know why she is complaining about this. 3. Attic Insulation & Rat Droppings; I informed her that we installed insulation between ea. 2X4 and as for the rat droppings in the area we insulated, it was all removed. 4. Paint & Texture Wall in Hallway: I told her it would get done at the very end with any other final paint touch up that may be needed. But let me explain why this was needed in the first place, after being all done with installing her new doors, texturing and painting, she decided that she wanted her master bedroom + hall closet swinging doors, replaced with pocket doors, so I had to cut & frame walls to make this happen for her, and that caused the need for additional drywall repairs. 5. Plugs in master & spare room: once again, after being all done with painting and electrical, she decides that she needs to cancel 2 plugs in spare bedroom where she changed her mind again on some built in cabinets/desk we had installed in her closet space, (she had me remove the cabinets) and now also warned the desk height plug removed, and not only that but she now wanted a new plug ran to her master bedroom wall for her to plug in a lamp and her cell phone charger, so I asked her to measure her Bed and night stand + mark the wall for me, on where she wanted the plug installed, which she never did, but kept asking me to install this plug, but knowing her by now, I didn't want to install a plug until she approved the spot she wanted it, so I made a special trip to her house (when she would be home on a weekend) to help her figure out the position of this plug and I got all this done for her. So why she is complaining about this, is really beyond my compehansion. 6. "Faulty Fans": I Lost Count on how many times she complained about this, And how many times I showed her how to operate the remotes, it's really not complicated to use a fan/light remote, but since she had her previous contractor install several can lights in each of her two small rooms and she had him install a separate light switch for ea. Can light. (She has like 4 light switches for ea. Room) and if the fan/light switch is on the off position and she tries turning on the light or fan by using the remote and it don't turn on, she then goes to the fan and starts pulling on the chain switches and since the wall switch is on off, she gets frustrated and even broke the chain switch once (which I had to repair) so with me having already explained to her that she needed to make sure to always leave the fan/light wall switch + Chain switches on the on position, and only use the remote to operate. I don't know what else to do for her. 7. TV cable & Plug; Once again, after being done with all painting and electrical, she decides to request a plug and coax cable for a wall mounted tv in kitchen, which I crawled in her 120* attic to take care of for her and it's all done. Why is she is complaining about this? It got done. 8. Shower wall color: the samples I showed her and originally left at her house, she didn't like, so I gave her the names of a few stores to go look at other shower slabs, but not sure where she saw "The Middle One" and we had already agreed that the shower finish wall would go up to the Ceiling but not on the ceiling because it's to heavy and I don't recommend installing it on ceilings, + the last time I met with her, she had actually decided on using one of the products I had originally showed her, I believe one of her friends liked it, so now she likes it too, But then a few days later she sends me an email asking me to give her a price to tile the shower instead of using a slab/sheet as she had originally requested and we had prepared the wall for. So once again, her changing her mind and confusing me after me thinking that the last time I met with her, might lead to me being able to finally finish her job. 9. Laundry Light; Another extra / change order, after being done with all electrical, but she bougt it, and I already installed it. So once again, why is this on her list of complaints? I have no clue! 10. Trench: she called a plumber because she has very low water pressure in her house and they told her to expose the pipe from main valve to her house valve, and she is simply stating that this is what she needs to do, mainly because I haven't been able to test her water heater for leaks before turning it on, due to there is very low water pressure, to truly test it for leaks. 11. Paint Floor Boards / wall base; after we finished painting the house and all other needed repairs Prior to installing laminate flooring, she decided that she wanted to re-paint her walls with a high gloss paint, and since I told her we couldn't help her with that, she said she would paint it her self, and the house sat unworked on for many months because she had surgery on her arm and couldn't paint. But once she finally finished painting it, I was planing on getting her scheduled to install laminate, and she told me she "first wanted to paint floor boards before they got installed, so I didn't schedule laminate install and was waiting for her to tell me wen she planned to have her floor boards painted, so I could get her on my schedule, and install laminate + floor boards at the same time, but that last time I went to her house, she had allready hired someone to install the Laminate, and unfortunately, they didn't have a clue on installing this laminate according to manufacturers requirements, And I advised her to call the person that installed it, and have them install it correctly or it will eventually get damaged, and I won't be able to help her with any claims against the product I sold her. 12. Drawer needs to move up: Per her request, I had udjusted the height position on several of her slide out cabinet drawers and then she decided, that she also wanted this one udjusted, which we did and it's all done. Why complain about something that's done? 13. The back door has a huge step down: I didn't build the house, but since she had asked my opinion on what could be done to make this safer for her in her older years, I advised her to have the contractor that was about to pour a new concrete driveway for her, to also pour a bigger step for her, so that she felt safer. But by now as I answer to all this complaints, I'm starting to get concerned about her memory, she just might be forgetting things, because besides the fact that she can't really make many decisions that she can stick to or seem to be happy with many of the decisions she makes, she is also complaining about so many things that are done or been allready discussed & answered to her. And now about her settlement request; I have an Email from her (sent on 8-17-16) where she is telling me that she has given me 30K and requesting from me to give her all the change order expenses + expenses for all additional work she requested. And now she is saying that she paid out $50K? I'm not sure if she is forgetting things or what's really going on, but now that she has hired a 3Rd. Contractor to finish her job, I will prioritize balancing out her job, so we can get all this behind us. And for her to request for interest on holding her money + lost of income for not renting her place for the past 12 months, I would recomend that she analyzes the true facts about why this project dragged on so long, and never got finished, before thinking this would even begin to be a fair request on her part. I will email [redacted] a job balance sheet on or beforeSeptember 19Th. And once she reviews it, I can meet up with her to go over any questions she may have, so we can hopefully resolve this, and move on without any further conflicts.

Inside Out Construction recently remodeled our bathroom. A complete job including a new tub/shower, toilet, vanity, recessed med cabinet, towel cupboard, paint, and lights. The job was complete in about five days, including dry times for adhesives and paint. The workmanship was fine. I highly recommend Inside out for bathroom remodel project consideration!
