American Marble has made good on any issues the client hadAfter going back out to address what they thought were issues, even after the owner had stated that the install was correct, we had a field foreman go to their home, and after reviewing the work and talking with the home owners, he left their home with out the need to do any work, and the homeowner paid in full right after his visit This whole situation started when the homeowners would not return our numerous phone calls and emailsThey sent photos of the underside of a sink install, as they thought it was installed wrongThe owner reviewed the photos and replied to their email that the sink was installed correctly and he would have it installed just like that in his own homeThey never responded to the owners emailAfter a few more attempts to get final payment, we had no other choice but to inform the home owners that we would be filing a mechanics lien if not paid in fullWe sent the notice via certified mail, the husband signed the notice, but refused to call us stillHis wife finally called a few days later asking us to please hold off as her husband was out of the country, and he needed to be aware of thisI them asked her how could her husband not be aware of this, when it is his signature that signed for the certified mail? American Marble installed a countertop in our home. The quality of the installation was low. Their customer service was terrible and confrontational. They refused to remedy the substandard installation properly. They only offered a repair that would have made the situation even worse. I filled a complaint against them with the Revdex.com and you can read for yourself. I finally chose to just pay them and get them out of my life. They used they fact that I paid them and signed off on the work against me in that Revdex.com complaint and were able to keep their A+ rating. In no way would I recommend anyone deal with this company despite their Revdex.com rating. It is misleading. They didn't do good work and were very rude and confrontational when I asked them to remedy the situation. My bottom line recommendation is to take your money elsewhere and get good solid recommendations from previous customers. LOOK UNDER THE SINK OR COUNTER TOP INSTALLATION and check the quality. You might be surprised at what you see.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I asked for an apology for [redacted]'s rude and confrontational behavior.  Her response was defensive and in no way resembles an apology.  In [redacted]'s response she claims that the workmanship was done to THEIR satisfaction.  I again point out that the workmanship was poor.  Her representative that came out to the property and agreed that the work did not represent the kind of work that they wish to display.  Their offer of repair was going to make the quality issues even worse and I did not trust them to make further repair.   They in no way offered to redo their work.  They only offered a bandaid fix hopping that the poor workmanship would no show on the surface.  I decided that this was a no win situation in dealing with this company on this particular issue so I paid the bill to get them out of my life.
I stand by my claim that the workmanship was shoddy and [redacted] was rude and confrontational when I pointed out the poor workmanship.
One more thing.  I have since discovered that under California State Law  A contractor's down payment can't be more than 10% of the contract price or $1,000, whichever is less.  American Marble demanded 50% down payment.  We paid a down payment of $1,400 dollars.  This was not in accordance with California State Law Business and Professions Code section 7159.5
My complaint should stand.

Dear Revdex.com:
The response from home owner is an outright lie! We spoke with our foreman that went out to their home and he was shocked by the allegations that were stated, as he said he never told the homeowner that our workmanship was poor. He will be willing to make a statement to such fact if needed. There is nothing wrong with the product that the home owners received. From what the Foreman had stated, is that they thought the sink fixture might have been too close to the wall, but when measured it was the standard 2 1/2". Their complaint is more of a cosmetic placement of the sink and faucet and has nothing to do with our quality of work. As for an apology, there will be no apology for something that is not true. As stated, I have 3 people, one being the owner, in my office when I was on the phone with Mrs. [redacted], and everyone has told me I was in no way rude or confrontational. I was trying to explain the situation as to what lead up to us filing a mechanics lien, but again, Mrs. [redacted] did not like what I had to say because that is not want she wanted to hear. The [redacted]'s never responded to the owners reply to their email regarding the photos that they sent...in fact, they ignored all other emails & phone calls regarding payment. I can send proof of all the emails we sent trying to contact them, but received no response until we threatened to file a mechanics lien. We have been in business for 29 years, and have never had such type of complaint from a customer. I have also attached an email we received from Mr. [redacted] right after our Foreman came out. The same one that they are saying claimed our work was not good. If their entire story is true, then why such a nice email after his visit and being more than happy to pay, especially if they were not satisfied.
Once again, we are requesting that this complaint be removed.
Thank you,
[redacted], Controller

American Marble has made good on any issues the client had. After going back out to address what they thought were issues, even after the owner had stated that the install was correct, we had a field foreman go to their home, and after reviewing the work and talking with the home owners, he left...

their home with out the need to do any work, and the homeowner paid in full right after his visit.
This whole situation started when the homeowners would not return our numerous phone calls and emails. They sent photos of the underside of a sink install, as they thought it was installed wrong. The owner reviewed the photos and replied to their email that the sink was installed correctly and he would have it installed just like that in his own home. They never responded to the owners email. After a few more attempts to get final payment, we had no other choice but to inform the home owners that we would be filing a mechanics lien if not paid in full. We sent the notice via certified mail, the husband signed the notice, but refused to call us still. His wife finally called a few days later asking us to please hold off as her husband was out of the country, and he needed to be aware of this. I them asked her how could her husband not be aware of this, when it is his signature that signed for the certified mail? I had several people, including the owner, standing in my door way while speaking with her, and I was in no way Rude or confrontational. I was being however firm and explaining the situation, but she did not like what she was hearing and therefore filed this complaint. All this going back & forth, for us to come out and have nothing to repair and ended up being paid in full. I am requesting that this compliant be removed from our file.
Sincerely,

Mr. S inspected our to be new home. This was arranged by our then realtor who was later described as a "dear friend". It was our experience that the inspection failed to identify problems that we will now have to manage at our expense. The larger problem, however, seemed to be this gentleman,s hostile attitude which both my wife and I experienced from our individual first conversations with him. It was me who identified the concerns we had - something that admittedly an be difficult. My wife on the other hand simply attempted to set up a time for her to meet him at the house.

Long story short - I would encourage folks to avoid these potential problems by choosing another option. We will not use or recommend either Mr. S or the realtor in the future.

Sorry for the delay. In regards to this complaint, this has nothing to do with us or our installation. The counter top that the homeowner is referring to was purchased from IKEA. It was a Caesarstone product, and we were just the installers of this product. We di d not supply the product. ...

The homeowners concern was passed onto Caesarstone to deal with the issue of the quality of the product that the homeowner bought from IKEA. I would appreciate our name being removed from this complaint. Thank you, [redacted]Controller | American Marble1280 N Melrose DrVista, CA 92083** [redacted]
