On April 1, we had a local contractor named Phil *** provide an estimate for installing two interior doors He quoted $for the entire job and was quick to take his down-payment of $ He was to begin the job the following Friday but for numerous excuses he did not begin for nearly a week later When he did arrive to complete the work it was nearly 7:pm He installed one of the doors and found that he had purchased the wrong size for the second He then asked for the remaining $so he could buy the correct door He was paid and then did not finish the door until nearly a week ago(we thought it was finished, but he is yet to trim the back sideDuring all of this he provided a quote of $to replace the bead board and soffit around the house Again, getting Phil to commit to begin the work was difficult After many texts and phone calls he only finished the work because he was informed that he would not be paid It appeared that Phil finished the job so he received payment He was informed that a painter would be coming on May 5th to determine if the painting job could begin The painter stated that there was still a substantial amount of work that needed to be done Phil stated that he would return to complete any work that was needed He sent a text saying that he would be coming to finish The work is still not done and Phil is nowhere to be foundReview

I would not recommend Phil despite his workmanship The communication, and issues of timeliness far outweigh the benefit Finally, in order to get work done payment must be withheld Once he receives money either he disappears completely or places your job on the “back-burner.”
