I had an emergency power situation on a Friday night at 11 pm of the August long weekend at my business which could have resulted in thousands of dollars in lost frozen foods. One phone call and without hesitation Martin was there within an hour and worked with me the next twelve hours to insure no losses and had the power back up. I highly recommend this company.
From the quote to the end of the job, Great Dane arrived on time, were professional, polite and talked to me about what they were planning to do and why so that I understood the reasons things were being done.
I renovated my basement and Great Dane was the only contractor who adhered to their scheduled start and end dates. If they were going to be late or not able to make it I was notified, usually in advance, which showed me a great respect for my time.
They advised me of any issues they ran into (fortunately, very few) and told me in advance of any changes that were required and the approximate cost associated with it. It allowed me to plan for and be aware of changes to the final bill as they happened so there were no surprises come the final bill.
The work was done quickly, it was clean, they cleared away all refuse and made sure every single outlet and switch were working before they left the job site.

I found Martin and Tom of Great Dane polite, professional, patient, and knowledgable. The work they did on our home (lift power line, new meter and panel) required a full day of labour that coordinated with Enmax and the City of Calgary Inspections seamlessly. We had a minor problem the next day and they were able to come back and fix it in a timely manner.
We had to replace our old outdated electrical breaker panel so we could have an air conditioning unit installed. Jeff and Martin were both incredible to work with. They are friendly, attentive and kept us well informed of the progress. As the home is a duplex and is in an older area of the city there were issues with the power lines and Enmax. Martin worked directly with the city inspectors to ensure that everything was completed to code while still meeting our needs. We ended up having the other duplexes breaker box replaced at the same time because of the work they did.
We would highly recommend GD Electric and Controls for any electrical needs and will certainly make them our company of choice.
