Review: My daughter, [redacted], took driving instruction from Instructor's Choice at their [redacted], Virginia location in the summer of 2012. She completed the 36 hours of classroom training June 25-July 5, 2012 from 2:15 - 5:45 p.m. and took six of the seven in-car driving instructions needed to pass the driving school. We were told the seventh in-car driving instruction would be her test to pass her driver's exam. Because of [redacted]'s busy schedule, having to learn how to drive a manual transmission, and our understanding that she needed to complete 45 hours of driving to pass the exam (this was not explained well by Instructor's Choice), we did not call them until June 2014. At that time, Instructor's Choice said they could not find her records of attending their school or did not know who did the in-car driving with her, but would search and call me back. I called them back three weeks later and they said they had a record of her attending their school, but no records of her completing anything. They told me she would have to take the whole training again for $250. I am willing to pay a reasonable "penalty" charge (though not $250)for them to give her the last in-car driving test, but she should not have to take the entire training all over again because of their shoddy record-keeping. My daughter is 17 and needs to have a driver school completion certificate to apply for a driver's license. Your help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.Desired Settlement: I would like for Instructor's Choice to find their records or reconstruct them based on the information they have & I've provided here & give my daughter her last in-car driving instruction. It was my understanding that there would be a $50 penalty fee for any extension beyond the normal time frames. She has had her driver's permit for two years so does not need to take the classroom training & has over 45 hours of driving experience since taking the driving class, & wants to get her license.
