Review: Purchased a 2000 CAT 426C at Insurance Auto Auction Stock # [redacted] on November*.

Equipment was misrepresented. They mentioned on the description damage to the right side and all over.

Besides that, the equipment also has MECHANICAL damage that was not described in the auction.Desired Settlement: Looking for a partial refund of $4,243.38 to cover some of the mechanical damage on the equipment.

Review: on 9/**/2013 our company purchased on line a 2006 ford mustang gt from photos furnished by iaai. the pictures and details of car started that the car started at the time of being checked in at their site. .the vehicle has a car starts sticker on windshield. we purchased the car and picked it up. when it was delivered we discovered that the car did not start and couldn't because the fuel rail, engine computer, and body control module had been removed. the pictures from iaai actually show some of these parts that were missing. we contacted iaai and was informed that they had to be informed of this before the car left their lot. the shipping company has no way of knowing the condition of the vehicle as their job is to deliver damaged vehicles. the parts were obviously stolen by someone at their yard between the time I purchased and was picked up by the shipping company. their photos show some of the parts that was missing and obviously could not have started had they not be on the vehicle. we replaced all the parts that were missing and the car runs now and only damaged door, rear end and quarter as shown in picture are damaged as bought. the computer under hood cost 115.00 used, the body control module was purchased new from local ford dealer for 275.00, the fuel rail was 125.00 used and 269.34 for ford dealer ship to program. 100.00 rollback service to dealership. total repairs for stolen parts and repairing. 884.34 totalDesired Settlement: we fixed with used parts that we could find and 1 new part no labor from us. we would like 884.34 out of pocket money.

Response:

At this time, I have been contacted directly by Insurance Auto Auctions, Inc regarding complaint ID [redacted], however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]INSURANCE AUTO AUCIONS HAS EMAILED ME BACK AND INFORMED ME THAT THE MINUTE THE VEHICLE ROLLS OFF THEIR LOT THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANTHING MISSING.

THE DRIVERS OF THE TRUCK HAVE NO IDEA HOW THE VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT AND THEREFOR CANNOT TELL IF ANYTHING IS GONE OR NOT AND THE WAY THE VEHICLE IS SUPPOSED TO BE.IAAI'S BUSINESS IS LARGELY INTERNET BASED AND IS LOOSING TRUST FROM THEIR CLIENTS. IF EVERYONE USED THIS AS AN EXCUSE THERE WOULD BE NO PURCHASES MADE FROM ANYWHERE ON THE INTERNET. THE PICTURE OF THE VEHICLE CLEARLY SHOWS THAT THE VEHICLE STARTED AND THE FUEL RAILS AND COMPUTOR ATTACHED.

WE RECEIVED THE CAR AT OUR LOT AND THE PARTS CLERELY SHOWN IN THE PICTURE ARE GONE AND THE CAR COULDNT START WITHOUT THE COMPUTOR AND FUEL RAILS. THEY CONTEND ITS NOT THEIR FAULT.

THESE FOLKS CLEARLY DIDNT KNOW THE PARTS WERE GONE BUT THEY CLEARLY HAVE A THEFT PROBLEM AND WILL NOT TAKE ISSUE WITH IT.
