I paid Integrated Wellness $5,000 and received a lot of expensive devices and had a few sessions of therapy. I did not use all my therapy sessions because they were not working and I could not see that spending more money was going to be beneficial. I asked for itemized billing so I could ask for a refund on the unused portion. I was told I had over $1500.00 credit. When I asked them to refund the amount to my credit card I was told I would only get just over $400 because they would not honor my discount if I did not finish the therapy.
Our patient entered into an agreement for $6086 in care. As a courtesy, we discounted her total care $1,086. We posted the discount as a credit on her account so that when she was done with care it would leave a zero balance on her account.
When she requested a copy of her statement, it showed a credit balance of $1,530.09 which included $1.086.56 of in office discount (credit) and $443.53 of actual payment from her.
We contacted the patient to apologize for the misunderstanding as it may have appeared to her that we were withholding actual funds she had paid.
We have spoken to the patient in an effort to identify and correct any concerns she had about her care. We have presented a plan to help complete the healing process, or to refund any balance due her. She has decided to continue care.
