Integrity Construction & Remodeling LLC Reviews (6)

I just returned fiom San Francisco and have gathered the documents you requested via email, the contract with Integrity Construction and the [redacted] Warranty document which wasprovided to me after my new roof was installed.Relative to the contract which was filled out by Russ U [redacted] , the only significanthighlight is that I was purchasing [redacted] shingles with a "Lifetime" year which was indicatedto me meant a Lifetime warranty.Relative to the Warranty document, it specifically states it is an " [redacted] IRON-CLADLIMITED WARRANTY"', not the Iron Clad Lifetime Warranty which covered the fullcost of damage and repair which I was led to bdieve during the sales presentation by RussU [redacted] It was this document that led to my suspicion that I was lied to by Russ andIntegrity Construction. After reading this document and making notes of all the discrepancies, I scheduled ameeting with Russ U [redacted] I am enclosing a copy of the notes I prepared for my meetingwith Russ just to give an indication of how significantly I was misledAfter pointing outthe discrepancies, Russ agreed it was not what he told me during his sales presentation.Russ stated he had no authority to offer any resolution and turned my complaint over toJohn U [redacted] .Let me know whether you need any further information [redacted] ***

Thanks to the efforts of the Revdex.com, I was able to get a response from JohnU [redacted] , owner of Integrity Construction & Remodeling LLC who has refused to return myinnumerable phone calls to him over the last five plus months.I feeI compelled to respond to John U [redacted] 's response to my Complaint, ID [redacted] becauseit contains a number of misstatements, miscomptions, and liesI will respond in the order theywere submitted"I was un aware (sic) of any problems untill (sic) a couple weeks after the roof wascompleted."Response: This is a true statementJohn U [redacted] oversaw the remodeling side of the businessand his brother, Russ U [redacted] oversaw the roofing construction part of the businessAfter beingconfronted by me, Russ U [redacted] admitted to lying about the content of the [redacted] ShingleWarranty during his sales presentation to me prior to the roof installationWhen asked how heintended to resolve the differences between what he told me and what was actually in thewarranty, Russ stated he had no authority to do anything and told me he had to get his brotherinvolved, who I discovered was John U [redacted] , owner of the companyJohn U [redacted] 's fistmeeting with me was with his full knowledge that his brother had lied to me during his salespresentation"At this time Mr [redacted] was concerned with the language in the [redacted] warranty packageHeexpressed his concerns about transferability of the warranty and the pro rated period."Response: This statement is a complete misconceptionI wasn't concerned about the language inthe [redacted] warranty but, rather, about how I was lied to by Russ U [redacted] I was told that the ***warranty was for full 100% "iron clad" lifetime coverage. When asked whether the warranty was transferable, Russ stated it was but could only be doneonce during the life of the warranty. The actual [redacted] warranty, which was not provided to me until after the roof was installed clearlyreveals that it does not provide 100% lifetime coverage but is a limited warranty which evenexcludes labor involved in the removal and disposal of the old shingles, if there is a claimIt alsois not a 100% lifetime warranty, but rather a pro rates warranty after years. The one time warranty transferability is also limited to the first years for the type of shingleinstalled, not for the life of the warranty as Russ told me.I pointed out numerous language differences to John U [redacted] during our first meeting to pointout and highlight how significantly I was lied to by his brother.I am attaching a copy of the [redacted] "Asphalt Shingle Limited Warranty" to highlight examples ofthe limited and not 100% coverage as promised to me by Russ, as well as the year transferabilityoption available vs what I was told could be done one time during the life of the warranty.I would be remiss if I didn't tell you that Russ U [redacted] told me he had never personally read the [redacted] warranty, even though he had been in his position for three yearsHe said he only told me"what he was told to say" during a company training sessionIt is absolutely unethical to thinkthat Integrity Construction would train employees to tell a customer anything to secure a sale, disregarding the truth, or what was actually contained in the [redacted] warranty.3."He also stated that he would of not chose the [redacted] shingles if he had read this prior to theinstallation."Response: This is absolutely trueUnfortunately, I was not given a copy of the warranty to readprior to the roof installationRather, I was told by Russ that the [redacted] warranty was the bestavailableUnfortunately, I believed him.4a"He went on to say that he read several other shingle companies warranties and that he didnot find any of them satisfactory"Response: This is an absolute lieI never stated this and, in fact, I contacted no other roofingcompanies prior to meeting with Integrity ConstructionNor have I read any other shinglecompanies warrantiesTo reiterate, I believed Russ U [redacted] who emphatically stated that the [redacted] warranty was the best available.4b"and asked if I would personally warranty the shingles."Response: I pointed out to John U [redacted] the difference between what was in the [redacted] warrantyand what Russ U [redacted] said was 100% coverageI asked him whether his company would bewilling to cover the cost difference between the two positions should a claim ever be filedMyintent was simply to make me whole for the lies I was toldJohn refused this requestEvenknowing that one of his key employees lied to me in order to secure a sale, John will not takeresponsibility as owner of Integrity Construction"He then later asked me if I would be willing to give him all the profit on the job and thatwould make him happy."Response: During a phone conversation which occurred sometime after our initial meeting, I wasasked by John U [redacted] what it would take to resolve this issueI reiterated to John that I wouldnot have contracted with Integrity Construction if I had known what was in the [redacted] warrantyIasked whether he would be willing to give me the roofing installation at costHe told me hecouldn't do that.I did then and still feel now that this is a reasonable settlement proposal since the only reasonIntegrity Construction made a profit on my roof installation is because I was lied to in order tosecure my purchase commitmentWhy should they profit from their lies? I would think that anowner of a company who knew a profit from a sale was gained through lies by a key member ofhis company would agree his company should reimburse such profitsWhy should IntegrityConstruction gain and I lose through unethical sales practices?"I offered to attempt to attain an extended warranty through ***I was not certified to sellthese warranties at the time although I was in the process of being certified due to my length inthe roofing industry."Response: During a phone conversation, John U [redacted] asked me whether I would be willing toaccept an extended warranty from [redacted] to settle this issueHe said he would pick up the cost ofthis extended warranty for meHe told me he could only sell this warranty after he was certifiedby [redacted] which he said was in process of being doneI must note he never said he 'wouldattempt" to obtain this warrantyRather, he said, once he was certified, he could sell thiswarranty and he was willing to pick up the entire costSince this was the first time I had heard ofthe availability of an extended warranty, I asked what it containedJohn said he didn't have acopy of the warranty with him, but that it extended the original warranty and also contained someother "goodies" This was John's first attempt to settle this issue and I accepted his offer. After some time passed after John U [redacted] 's offer, and having some concerns about myrelationship with Integrity Construction, I called John U [redacted] and asked him whether he wouldput his commitment to purchase an extended warranty for me in writingHe said he would and Ireceived a letter from John U [redacted] on August 13,(copy attached)I called John U [redacted] on August 14,to tell him I received his letter and to thank him forsending itJohn told me that he had just received a phone call that he was an approved, certifiedcontractor with [redacted] and was now able to sell the extended warrantyJohn told me during thisconversation that I had to have an [redacted] approved Hip & Ridge shingle on the roof before he couldsell the extended warranty and told me he would install it at his costThe new Hip & Ridgeshingles were installed months later in early November, "We did not install the required underlayments on this roof that are required for the extendedwarrantyWe used industry standard products that qualify Mr [redacted] for the Iron Clad warrantyand no more."Response: This is an absolutely incredible response Months after the roof was installed, JohnU [redacted] offered me an extended warranty which, as owner of Integrity Construction, I'm sure heknew what was required to purchase this warrantyIn fact, he stated that the only obstacle topurchasing this warranty was to install an [redacted] approved Hip & Ridge shingle, which he did inNovember, 2015, six months after the roof was installedThis obviously means in November,he still intended to provide me with the extended warranty he promisedOtherwise, whywould he go through this additional expense? As I mentioned in my Complaint, after John U [redacted] refused to return my numerous phone calls,I contacted Jonathan L***, a supervisor with Integrity Construction, to try to get help with thestatus of my extended warranty since the new Hip and Ridge shingles had already been installed. This was in early December, He told me John was down south and he would follow upwith the [redacted] rep about the status of my extended warrantyHe called me back and said the ***rep said that the extended warranty was in the process of being approved and I should receive acopy by early the following weekNeedless to say that never happenedI called Jonathan andasked him to give me the name of the [redacted] rep so I could talk to him directlyHe rehsed to doso. Now, John U [redacted] states I can't get the extended warranty because of not applying underlayments at the time the roof was installed? Absolutely, incredible!"This situation is beyond our control since Mr [redacted] did not request the extended warrantyprior to the roof installation and there is no way for us to obtain the extended warranty."Response: I never knew an extended warranty existed until John U [redacted] offered to purchaseone for me months after the roof was installedBesides, an extended warranty never would havecrossed my mind since I was told by Russ U [redacted] I would have an [redacted] 100% iron clad lifetimewarranty with my purchase.SUMMARY:I have now gone through months of uncomforting anxiety over this situation which couldeasily been prevented if I hadn't been lied to by Integrity Construction, or provided a copy of the [redacted] warranty at the time of the sales presentation which, after reading, I would have decided notto install an [redacted] roof.John U [redacted] 's position is to acknowledge that one of his employees lied to a potentialcustomer in an effort to secure a sale and his only responsibility is to say I'm terribly sorry, butthere is nothing I can doCan you imagine if this was the acceptable busi [redacted] norm? In fact Ibelieve this is one reason the Revdex.com was created, to protect a consumer fromsuch unethical business practices. The extended warranty was John U [redacted] 's suggestion as a means to solve this issue and he nowsays he can't do itLet me revert back to a couple of suggestions I proposed to resolve thisdispute:That Integrity Mortgage agree to pick up all costs not picked up by [redacted] should a roofingdamage or repair claim be filedThis was brought up to John U [redacted] during our initial meetingand would make me whole for the 100% warranty Russ U [redacted] promised I hadThat Integrity Construction provide me with the roof installation at costThe only reason Ipurchased a roof fiom Integrity Construction was because of lies I was told that the [redacted] warrantyinvolved 100% iron clad lifetime protection and that it was the best warranty availableIntegrityConstruction should not profit from these lies.If John U [redacted] does not agree to my first proposal which simply gives me the 100% warranty Iwas promised, then he should accept my second proposal since he should not profit From a sale heonly got through lying to me.I, again thank the Revdex.com for interceding in this matter[redacted] ***

I have obtained a statement from Russ U***Russ was the salesman present during the sale of the roof. Statement from Russ U*** : We were doing some work in the area when I met Mr ***He asked me to look at his roof and give him an estimate, I measured his roof and provided him with a very reasonable estimate under market pricing with the approval from my officeHe asked what shingles we reccomended and I told him we install *** shingles and provided him with some boards with a few different colors and a book that explains some details about *** with all the color selectionsOn a later date about 2-days I believe it was over the weekend we meet back at his houseMr *** had the entire weekend to reasearch the products and warranties we had offered himWe wrote a contract that explained in detail what we were doing and installing and for how muchWe took half down and put Mr *** on the schedule to have his roof installedOnce the roof was completed I returned and picked up the remaining balance and provided him with his warrantyThis is given to him after completion because we have to fill out the warranty and sign it once the work is doneAt no time did I tell mr *** that he has 100% coverage for a lifetimeThis is so obsurd to think that a asphalt shingle would be covered for a lifetime I would never say such a thing*** labels their warranty as a Lifetime iron clad warranty and this is simply what I statedMr *** asked if his warranty could be transfered because he may be selling his home and I told him yesI never told him that it could be transferred for a lifetimeThis is also so obsurd I would never tell anyone thatThis was the conclusion of my dealing with Mr***When he was asking about the warranty John took over in trying to help Mr ***. It is very diffucult to address every statement made by Mr*** in this very long ramble of Lies Mr*** has repetedly called us liars along with many other disrespectful things and has made up information in this statement in angerWe have been in busi*** for nearly years with Zero complaints we are a very reputable roofing company with nothing but the best quality and customer serviceWe have roofed over homes in the central Ohio area with ZERO complaintsI wish I could do something to help but like I stated in my original response there is nothing I can doWe decline his request for a refundHis roof is in perfect working order with an *** Iron Clad warranty in effectThis is the warranty and roof well stated in our written contract We have completed his roof exactly as specifed in our contract , we obtained a permit and passed our inspection with the city of Delaware Ohio to meet all local and state codesHe has exzactly what he paid for and nothing less. Thank you,John U***

I reiterated to John that I wouldnot have contracted with Integrity Construction if I had known what was in the [redacted] warranty. Why should they profit from their lies? I would think that anowner of a company who knew a profit from a sale was gained through lies by a key member ofhis company would agree his company should reimburse such profits. Why should IntegrityConstruction gain and I lose through unethical sales practices?6. "I offered to attempt to attain an extended warranty through [redacted]. I was not certified to sellthese warranties at the time although I was in the process of being certified due to my length inthe roofing industry."Response: During a phone conversation, John U[redacted] asked me whether I would be willing toaccept an extended warranty from [redacted] to settle this issue. He said he would pick up the cost ofthis extended warranty for me. He told me he could only sell this warranty after he was certifiedby [redacted] which he said was in process of being done. I must note he never said he 'wouldattempt" to obtain this warranty. Rather, he said, once he was certified, he could sell thiswarranty and he was willing to pick up the entire cost. Since this was the first time I had heard ofthe availability of an extended warranty, I asked what it contained. John said he didn't have acopy of the warranty with him, but that it extended the original warranty and also contained someother "goodies" This was John's first attempt to settle this issue and I accepted his offer. After some time passed after John U[redacted]'s offer, and having some concerns about myrelationship with Integrity Construction, I called John U[redacted] and asked him whether he wouldput his commitment to purchase an extended warranty for me in writing. He said he would and Ireceived a letter from John U[redacted] on August 13,2015. (copy attached)I called John U[redacted] on August 14,2015 to tell him I received his letter and to thank him forsending it. John told me that he had just received a phone call that he was an approved, certifiedcontractor with [redacted] and was now able to sell the extended warranty. John told me during thisconversation that I had to have an [redacted] approved Hip & Ridge shingle on the roof before he couldsell the extended warranty and told me he would install it at his cost. The new Hip & Ridgeshingles were installed months later in early November, 2015.7. "We did not install the required underlayments on this roof that are required for the extendedwarranty. We used industry standard products that qualify Mr. [redacted] for the Iron Clad warrantyand no more."Response: This is an absolutely incredible response Months after the roof was installed, JohnU[redacted] offered me an extended warranty which, as owner of Integrity Construction, I'm sure heknew what was required to purchase this warranty. In fact, he stated that the only obstacle topurchasing this warranty was to install an [redacted] approved Hip & Ridge shingle, which he did inNovember, 2015, six months after the roof was installed. This obviously means in November,2015 he still intended to provide me with the extended warranty he promised. Otherwise, whywould he go through this additional expense? As I mentioned in my Complaint, after John U[redacted] refused to return my numerous phone calls,I contacted Jonathan L[redacted], a supervisor with Integrity Construction, to try to get help with thestatus of my extended warranty since the new Hip and Ridge shingles had already been installed. This was in early December, 2015. He told me John was down south and he would follow upwith the [redacted] rep about the status of my extended warranty. He called me back and said the [redacted]rep said that the extended warranty was in the process of being approved and I should receive acopy by early the following week. Needless to say that never happened. I called Jonathan andasked him to give me the name of the [redacted] rep so I could talk to him directly. He rehsed to doso. Now, John U[redacted] states I can't get the extended warranty because of not applying underlayments at the time the roof was installed? Absolutely, incredible!8. "This situation is beyond our control since Mr. [redacted] did not request the extended warrantyprior to the roof installation and there is no way for us to obtain the extended warranty."Response: I never knew an extended warranty existed until John U[redacted] offered to purchaseone for me months after the roof was installed. Besides, an extended warranty never would havecrossed my mind since I was told by Russ U[redacted] I would have an [redacted] 100% iron clad lifetimewarranty with my purchase.SUMMARY:I have now gone through 11 months of uncomforting anxiety over this situation which couldeasily been prevented if I hadn't been lied to by Integrity Construction, or provided a copy of the[redacted] warranty at the time of the sales presentation which, after reading, I would have decided notto install an [redacted] roof.John U[redacted]'s position is to acknowledge that one of his employees lied to a potentialcustomer in an effort to secure a sale and his only responsibility is to say I'm terribly sorry, butthere is nothing I can do. Can you imagine if this was the acceptable busi[redacted] norm? In fact Ibelieve this is one reason the Revdex.com was created, to protect a consumer fromsuch unethical business practices. The extended warranty was John U[redacted]'s suggestion as a means to solve this issue and he nowsays he can't do it. Let me revert back to a couple of suggestions I proposed to resolve thisdispute:1. That Integrity Mortgage agree to pick up all costs not picked up by [redacted] should a roofingdamage or repair claim be filed. This was brought up to John U[redacted] during our initial meetingand would make me whole for the 100% warranty Russ U[redacted] promised I had.2. That Integrity Construction provide me with the roof installation at cost. The only reason Ipurchased a roof fiom Integrity Construction was because of lies I was told that the [redacted] warrantyinvolved 100% iron clad lifetime protection and that it was the best warranty available. IntegrityConstruction should not profit from these lies.If John U[redacted] does not agree to my first proposal which simply gives me the 100% warranty Iwas promised, then he should accept my second proposal since he should not profit From a sale heonly got through lying to me.I, again thank the Revdex.com for interceding in this matter.[redacted]

Hello , We did install a roof for Mr [redacted]. I was un aware of any problems untill a couple weeks after the roof was completed. At this time Mr [redacted] was concerned with the language in the [redacted] warranty package. He expressed his concerns about transferability of the warranty and the pro rated...

period. He also stated that he would of not chose the [redacted] shingles if he had read this prior to the installation. He went on to say that he read several other shingle companies warranties and that he did not find any of them satisfactory and asked if I would personally warranty the shingles. He then later asked me if I would be willing to give him all the profit on the job and this would make him happy. I understood that he was not happy with the manufactures warranty provided with the roof so I offered to attempt to obtain an extended warranty through [redacted]. I was not certifed to sell these warranties at the time although I was in the process of being certifed due to my length in the roofing industry. So there was a very lengthy waiting peroid for this to take place. After I obtained the proper certification I attempted to obtain a warranty through talks with my [redacted] sales rep. We did not install the required underlayments on this roof that are required for the extended warranty. We used industry standard products that qualify Mr. [redacted] for the Iron Clad warranty and no more. This situation is beyond our control since Mr. [redacted] did not request the extended warranty prior to the roof installation and there is no way for us to obtain the extended warranty. I have a letter from [redacted] regarding this matter. Mr [redacted],s roof is currently covered by [redacted]'S IRON CLAD warranty and is in no means out of warranty. We are teribly sorry he is unhappy with the iron Clad warranty and attempted to upgrade him but unfortunately there is nothing we can do. Sincerely,John U[redacted]
