For the record, the work was slated to start in November. The idea was that the smaller jobs (the work that was completed) would be done before Christmas and the major bathroom re-model would start after.  it was Ryan that suggested starting the whole job begin after Christmas. Given the delays on the small job, that turned out to be good advice,

We feel so fortunate to have found Integrity Home Improvements. We purchased a short sale home that we absolutely loved, but the kitchen needed a complete gut. We were also toying with the idea of adding a bit of an extension to provide a dining area, which the home didn’t come with originally. We interviewed a number of different contractors and encountered the following: high pressure sales, contempt for our budget (we ended up spending $40K, but I guess that’s pocket lint to some contractors), and with some even an distaste for dealing directly with me rather than my husband. Although we were equal partners in the project, the man of our home is not a big talker and prefers to have me handle dealings with contractors. Some guys just ignored me completely, and others treated me like I was some kind of ball-buster and would make dorky jokes like “happy wife, happy life.” Whatever, dudes. This is a business dealing. Just be professional. That’s all we ask.
Enter Ryan from Integrity Home Improvements. He treated both of us with respect, listened to our wish list and didn’t pressure us to give him our exact dollar figure for budget, and never once pushed us to sign on projects we didn’t have time to think about. Even better, his quote was very competitive with the other contractors we’d interviewed (quote NOT estimate. We knew upfront what the entire project would cost with no variables). So, we chose Integrity for our kitchen remodel and extension.
The entire project lasted about three months. During that time, we always felt really secure with the people coming in and out of our home. They always wore t-shirts that identified them as staff of Integrity. They always smiled and introduced themselves by name. And most importantly, every day that we returned home from work, we were impressed with the quality of work we saw in each stage of the process. At completion, we were just in love with the kitchen and extension. We got exactly what we wanted at the exact price Ryan gave us.
We cannot recommend them highly enough. We have another upcoming project that we intend to hire Integrity for as soon as we’ve budgeted for it.

[redacted],Integrity Home Improvements takes pride in doing a quality project and treating our customers well. Admittedly, this project did not go nearly as smooth as our normal projects, for a variety of reasons.  However, the issues were addressed and corrected during the project, and the real sin...

was a longer project duration than it should have been.  The source of much of the issue was the timing of the project.  Due to time constraints by the homeowner, she had wanted to start the project 12/29, and as I had discussed with her, most of our guys were off for two days that week due to the New Years holiday.  Additionally, many of our workers were off for the entire week. I had expressed concern with the designer about starting that week (I was also on my honeymoon that week), but he said it was critical to the customer to start at that time.  With that said, we got off to a slow start.Again, there were a number of issues that were needed to be fixed, including the drain being installed too high, the broken towel bar mount, tile grout cracks, mis-drilled holes at the shower door requiring repairing tile again, etc.  You could call it a perfect storm of mis-steps, none of which were difficult to address, but each of which took time. The project was completed, at least that phase of the project.Part of the problem with this project is working within the confines of a partial project.  For instance, tile install only at the shower pan, and the difficulty of tying in the tile and waterproofing with the existing wall tile.  It requires for a meticulous demo and even then adjacent tiles can easily chip, which happened a few times. This caused a lot of problems.  Additionally, we can match the grout color with manufactured grout colors as best as possible, but new grout and 15 year old grout are never going to match exactly.  The other instance of a partial project causing us problems was the shower door. We normally install the tile and have custom glass made for the openings. In this case the shower door already existed and when we did the new water-proofing, it caused a greater thickness, and ergo, the door didn't fit.  Though these issues were in no way the customer's fault, they certainly added to the complexity and many issues that we had to re-do and address in order to make it right, which of course took time.  Because of the prolonged period of time for phase 1 of the project, we were not going to be able to finish the second phase of the project in the master bathroom before her deadline, when family was coming to visit the customer.  She told our company she would like to cancel phase 2.  The original designer worked with her to square up the accounting.  Approximately speaking, for the work performed in phase 1 was $4,000, with phase 2 the remaining $6,100.  The customer had paid $3,275 to date, so to bring phase 1 to a conclusion, he discussed a balance of near $800.  The customer's assertion is that not only did she not owe us any money, but that we should additionally install sink faucets that are part of phase 2.  We did not feel this to be fair at all given the balance due, so we refused to do the additional work unless she paid what was due for work already completed.     It was at this point she submitted the complaint.  Ultimately as stated, I am not proud of the required fixes, re-dos and corrections we had to make, and ultimately the prolonged period of time for a relatively small job. I discussed the limitations and difficulties that contributed to the issues we had.  However, in no way did we wrong the customer, leave the project un-finished, leave her high and dry, or not perform on what we had promised, besides regarding the duration of the project.  The fixes were at our expense. I don't feel as though we owe additional work, and to the contrary, we were not fully compensated for work performed.  I am not interested in collecting on any balance, and simply want to leave the project as is and waive any balance so we may both move forward. Regards,[redacted]PresidentIntegrity Home Improvements
