We found a home, submitted an application, we were told that we were conditionally approved pending them coming to view the home we currently lived in to make sure that we could properly take care of their home. When I called to schedule the appointment, I told them that we had fish and would that be a problem? I was told no, it wouldn't be a problem. Then I let them know that my husband is a combat vet and has a service dog and would that be a problem? I was put on hold and was told that no the service dog wasn't a problem, but that our fish now were. That they fall under the no pets category, even though I was originally told that it wouldn't be a problem. Then he kept harping on my husband having a service dog and that we needed to share that information, to give the owners the ability to consider whether or not we could have the service dog. Even though it's against the law to discriminate against someone for having a service dog or not allowing them to rent a home because of it. Beware of this company
Everyone at this company knows that a service animal is acceptable but do need to be disclosed and documentation provided. I don't know about this incident. However, we do allow service animals without hesitation if they are properly documented. Some property owners are ok with fish and some are not due to the potential for water spills.
I rent from this property management company and have had a water leak going on 5 months. It is resulting in severe water damage to the bathroom floor. My other issue is they just keep charging for late fees even if the rents not late. I refuse to pay late fees when they can't do any repairs.
