Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: The business is talking about something that happened years ago and for which I was not billed directly from the companyIt makes no senseIf I receive a charge back, I contact the client and ask for an explanationI do not simply refuse, I cannot even if I wanted to, stop working on that matterFurther, I would like to see what was the, "report" from years ago and the time frameMy credit score when last reviewed is over 800, I pay my bills unless there is some problem with the merchandiseCannot understand this response from the merchantI best guess would be that the,"report" came late,This is the only reason I can imagine for not paying for it, and I would have notified the merchaht of my reason for refusing.? Sincerely, [redacted] ***

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:According to the Intelius response, they have two-tiered pricing, but I believe it is confusing and misleadingI also believe this is purposefulThis company charges customers repeatedly, when they are aware that the customer is not receiving a product any longerPersonally, I believed that I had cancelled right away, and because of my busy life as a working wife and mother of three, did not notice that this company was charging me repeatedly for almost three yearsBut they knew, and this is their tactic for making moneyThey also knew that I haven't used their service since the original search in Intelius preys on the fact that they will make money on busy, hard-working peopleThey should not be able to unknowingly charge customers for an unlimited amount of time without any customer account activityEven a doctor's office drops patients after they haven't been seen for months.? The long and short of it, this company is running a scamThey feel okay about it because of they way they have worded it in their website, but it is a fleecing of hard-working, upstanding citizensHow do they sleep at night?Sincerely, [redacted] ***

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:While I appreciate that the company has "temporarily" removed my info, I do not believe I should have to constantly monitor your company to see if they have collected more personal info, and therefore re-posted my info to their websites? Nor do I agree that your company should requires individuals to forward more personal info such as a driver's license to opt outFurthermore, there is absolutely no reason why my info should not remain private in a file of ? "Opt Out" individuals? Therefore, your company has shown it's true agenda? Which is to profit off of selling personal info to persons stalking individuals an (illegal activity)? And I hope one day a victim of stalking sues your company to get the laws changed? I know if I am, you better believe there will be a lawsuit Sincerely, [redacted]

Intelius customers are presented with a two-tier pricing structure when purchasing reports on the Intelius websiteEach offer includes the standard one-time purchase price and a second discounted report price plus a one-week trial of the Intelius Premier Plus membershipIf the user elects to continue with their selected report type but does not wish to continue the Premier Plus membership they are instructed to cancel the Premier Plus membership within the first days and they will only be charged $for the Premier Plus trial membershipHowever, if the user does not cancel, the member is enrolled in the Premier Plus membership and their credit card will be charged a monthly fee of $(plus applicable taxes) going forward ? Intelius provides clear disclosures within the report purchase process of the Premier Plus membership offer.? Below, I have outlined the process and various places in which Intelius notified Ms [redacted] of the membership offer and details? On January 5, 2018, Ms [redacted] purchased a discounted Phone Report in the amount of $which included a 7-day trial membership of the Premier Plus membershipMs [redacted] was notified of this offer and trial membership when she selected her report type and again on the payment information pageAdditionally, she was required to manually select a checkbox on the payment information page before she could complete her report purchase that specifically notified her of the offer and the membership terms, including that her credit or debit card would be charged $(plus applicable taxes) if she did not cancel her 7-day trial membership, a phone number to cancel her membership, that her membership benefits would continue through the last month for which she paid and that there are no refunds or partial month creditsMs [redacted] was presented with language in the same checkbox that by clicking the button to purchase, she agreed to the Terms of Service and Privacy PolicyIf a user fails to check the box, they are unable to complete their purchase on the Intelius websiteA representative copy of the standard purchase page is attached for your review ? The “Automatic Renewal Program” section located under the “Paid Services” portion of the Terms of Service states: ? “Upon your acceptance of an offer for the purchase of any subscription-based Paid Services, you will be enrolled in our automatic renewal program to help ensure that there is no interruption in your access to such Paid ServicesUnder this program, you authorize us to automatically renew your subscription at the end of the term of the subscription you purchased, and each subsequent term, for the same term length of the subscription you initially purchased (unless otherwise stated in the offer you accepted)Unless you change your renewal status as described below, at the time of each such renewal you authorize us to charge your designated Payment Method at the then-current, non-promotional price (unless otherwise stated in the offer you accepted) for the renewal of your subscriptionIf you no longer want to be enrolled in our automatic renewal program, you can change your renewal status at any time by completing the following steps: ? ·? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? According to our records, Ms [redacted] did not opt out of the Intelius Premier Plus membership or contact the Intelius Customer Care team about her membership prior to the expiration of her trial membershipAs a result, her credit or debit card was charged $on January 28, and every month on the anniversary of her initial purchase in accordance with the disclosures and the Terms of Service that she agreed to during her initial purchase? Complaint Number: [redacted] Consumer Name: [redacted] We are in receipt of the consumer complaint filed by Mr. [redacted] in connection with his dissatisfaction with the information received on the Federal and Nationwide Criminal Search Report he ordered on January 6, 2017.... Intelius is an online public information website. The information we provide is gathered from public records and publicly available information via local, state, federal and other agencies. This data is compiled into a comprehensive public record search that Intelius maintains with active updates from its sources. However, it is important to note that not all states or every county within each state provides digital access to its records and therefore some records may be incomplete. In Mr. ***’s case, the search he performed was for an individual he indicated lived in South Dakota. South Dakota is one of seven states that restricts digital access to its records. However, had the individual Mr. [redacted] researched had a record in one of the 43 other states that allow access, that information would have been provided on the report. Per the Terms of Service that Mr. [redacted] agreed to upon ordering his search, Intelius has a no refund policy. However, as a matter of customer courtesy, I have provided a refund to Mr. [redacted] for the Federal and Nationwide Criminal Search Report. Mr. [redacted] should note this refund on his account within the next 30 to 60 days depending on his financial institution’s billing cycle. This information should successfully resolve Mr. ***’s complaint. Should your office or Mr. [redacted] have any questions or need additional information, please feel free to contact me at [email protected]. Sincerely, Tara M [redacted] Sr. IP & Marketing Compliance Manager Intelius, Inc. www.intelius.com

Per Ms [redacted] ’s request, her information was removed from the Intelius database, as well as our affiliated websites in December The link provided in Ms [redacted] ’s complaint is a generic search link generated through users searching on the Intelius website for the names and places listed in the search string or through a Google search queryIf Ms [redacted] is still seeing her name appearing within Google search results pages, it means that while Ms [redacted] ’s information was still in our systems, Google indexed the public results pages of the Intelius websiteUnfortunately, we do not have the ability to remove this information from Google’s search results.? In order for this specific search string to be removed, Google will need to re-index these webpages and update the information they have cachedWhen and how often these pages are re-indexed is beyond our control and is based on Google’s internal policies and algorithmsHowever, Ms [redacted] should note, that none of her information appears in any of the Intelius search results.?
