Intelius solely collects and compiles the public records and publicly available information. Local, state, and federal agencies make updates to public records. The information can come from sources such as: marketing surveys, land deeds, catalog purchases, voter registrations, lawsuit
filings, court records, magazine subscriptions, and address changes.We would be more than happy to remove Ms*** information, however, we are unable to locate any information for her. We ask that she reply with the URL where her information appears on our website. Once we have located her information, we will be able to remove it.Generally, we do require an individual’s identity to be verified prior to processing an opt-out. To do this, we request that proof of identity be submitted along with the removal request. Proof of identity can be a state issued ID card or driver's license. When uploading, faxing, or mailing a copy of a driver's license, we require that the photo and the driver's license number be crossed out. However, we do need to see the name, address, and date of birth to ensure that all information is removed from our database. If an individual does not feel comfortable faxing us their driver’s license or other state issued identification, they can send a notarized statement of their identity.We appreciate your cooperation in resolving this issue apologize for any inconvenience

I am rejecting this response because: My main complaint was not addressed by the business in mentionI stated that their on-line correspondence when signing up for a membership states " that any time the membership can be cancelled either by calling their support Office number any time for any reasonI called that support number and they said they could not cancel the membershipThe inconsistencies that they mention in their answer was not even the main reason I initiated this complaintthey are telling the public that we can call and cancel at anytime for any reason the membership and when I initiated this written quote they could not/would not follow thruIf they had explained why they could not cancel the membership that they quoted when you sign up it would have been better. In addition, if they had given me the information about I-tunes like they did in their answer again it could have alleviated having this complaint filed in their public record. I know for whatever reason that I won't ever get my money back so lets just close this and move onI would like notice left open and on file for the public to be able to see or use if this happens to someone else

Intelius customers are presented with a two tier pricing structure when purchasing reports on the Intelius website. They have the option of paying the full price, or a discounted promotional price which includes a 7-Day Pass of the Intelius Premier Plus Membership. When a customer
selects the promotional price, they are presented the benefits of the membership and the terms and conditions of the offer, including billing. By choosing to proceed with the purchase at the promotional price, the customer agrees to the terms and conditions of the promotional offer.In this case, the promotional offer was accepted and the Intelius Premier Plus 7-Day Pass was activated Using the information Mr*** provided, we were able to locate an account for him which was in his name. Mr*** was only charged $for the Intelius Premier Plus 7-Day Pass and $for the People Search Report. The Intelius Premier Plus Membership was canceled on 2/13/and a refund for $was issued on 3/1/2016. Additionally, we refunded the charge of $for the People Search Report on 3/1/2016. The refund will appear on Mr***’s statement ($& $0.95) in one of the next two billing cycles, depending on the closing date. Again, all charges have been refunded and no future membership charges will occur.We appreciate your cooperation in resolving this matter and apologize for any inconvenience

website The reports Ms*** purchased included her search subject’s address, phone and family information and confirmation of which information was currentPrior to purchasing her report, Ms*** was specifically notified what information would be provided if it was availableIntelius’ policy is to use all applicable means to deliver the information services ordered by its customers. The information provided is gathered from selected public records and other publicly available informationThe data is compiled into a comprehensive database record that Intelius maintains with active updates from its sources. Due to the nature of public records, however, Intelius cannot warrant the information provided is always current, complete, or accurate. offer includes the standard full one-time purchase price and a second discounted report price plus a one-week trial of the Intelius Premier Plus membershipIf the user elects to continue with their selected report type but does not wish to continue the Premier Plus membership they are instructed to cancel the Premier Plus membership within the first days and they will only be charged $for the Premier Plus trial membershipHowever, if the user does not cancel, the member is enrolled in the Premier Plus membership and their credit card will be charged a monthly fee of $(plus applicable taxes) going forward ? Intelius provides clear disclosures within the report purchase process of the Premier Plus membership offer.? Below, I have outlined the process and various places in which Intelius notified Mr*** of the membership offer and details? On September 19, 2017, Mr*** purchased a discounted membership in the amount of $.95, which included a 7-day trial membership of the Premier Plus membershipMr*** was notified of this offer and trial membership when he selected his report type and again on the payment information pageAdditionally, he was required to manually select a checkbox on the payment information page before he could complete his report purchase that specifically notified him of the offer and the membership terms, including that his credit or debit card would be charged $(plus applicable taxes) if he did not cancel his 7-day trial membership, a phone number to cancel his membership, that his membership benefits would continue through the last month for which he paid and that there are no refunds or partial month creditsMr*** was presented with language in the same checkbox that by clicking the button to purchase, he agreed to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (with hyperlinks to each)A copy of the standard purchase page is attached for your review ? According to our records, Mr*** canceled his free trial on September 19, and was charged $for the trial membership per the terms he agreed to upon his original purchaseSince Mr*** canceled his trial membership, he no longer has a subscription with Intelius ? Per the Terms of Service, Intelius has a no refund policyHowever, as a matter of customer courtesy, a customer care agent provided Mr*** a refund of his $trial membership fees on October 2, Mr*** should note this refund on his account within the next to days depending on his financial institution’s billing cycle and internal refund policy ?
