Dear [redacted]:You sent me a letter 6/25/14, concerning the complaint filed by [redacted] on 6/23/14, My response to the complaint is as follows:[redacted] signed my Subscription Agreement in April (see copy), and gave me a check for $170.00 I cash checks as soon as...

possible to determine promptly if the checks are good, because over the 25 years I have been in business, I have been given numerous bad checks. So, I adopted this practice to prevent sca**, and it is certainly not indicative of "a possible scam" by me, as **. [redacted] suggests,I call your attention to the last sentence of the accompanying listing agreement, and the statement in the middle: "We do not guarantee that the purchaser will find a satisfactory rental unit through our service," [redacted] read this agreement and signed it. Now she asks you to ignore the fact that she agreed in writing that the Subscription Agreement contains the entire agreement. In the middle of the second page of her complaint, **. [redacted] makes, in pertinent part, the following statement,: "One important note ... was as part of the agreement, [redacted] would make contact with home owners and arrange our meeting, I was forbidden not (sic) to contact directly," In this Freudian slip, **. [redacted] inadvertently states a fact, namely, that although I often go beyond my contractual requirements by making calls to landlords to arrange meetings with clients, I NEVER forbid clients to contact landlords directly, That would be absurd. Why would I ever do that? It would make no sense, would help nobody, and would result in even more work for me. The truth is that **, [redacted], who has shown a propensity for misstating facts and issuing random insults, has also shown herself to be an ingrate who does not appreciate that I did more than I was required by the agreement.I will conclude by saying that I gave **. [redacted] my list of rentals, including phone numbers of the landlords; and I did return her phone calls - just not soon enough to satisfy her sense of entitlement. The agreement clearly states "NO REFUNDS', Since she signed the agreement and obtained my service and product, I will not give her any refund.Thank you

 Dear Mrs. [redacted],
This letter is in response...

to yours concerning Russell and Stephanie [redacted]. Initially, please note that the Subscription Agreement signed by Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] states in the third paragraph: "We are a referral service only. We do not guarantee that the purchaser will find a satisfactory rental unit through our service.  Our purpose is to furnish the purchaser with lists of available rental units. "
The [redacted]'s received 36 pages of rentals to assist with their rental search. A percentage of the rental list is pet friendly. There were suitable options on the list that fit their criteria. Currently there are still available rentals for them that are pet friendly.

In view of the above and unwarranted complaint against me (a licensed rental referral agency), I have determined that they are not entitled to any refund as stated on the Subscription Agreement they signed, a copy of which is attached. However, I will still work with the [redacted]'s if they contact me.
Sincerely,
Angela F[redacted]

Dear [redacted]
This letter is in response to yours to me, concerning complaint from [redacted]. I spoke by phone to [redacted] on January 29, 2015 and agreed to refund to her the $170.00 fee, which has been...

mailed to her, although she sign the Subscription Agreement stating no refunds, which I have attached. I supplied [redacted] and her daughter with rentals that met their needs. [redacted] has threatened, harassed and has tried to sabotage Inter County Rentals on various websites. Due to [redacted]'s actions I would not want to subject landlords to a potential tenant that might take action on them, therefore as previously stated [redacted]'s fee has been refunded.
Should you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Angela F[redacted]

Review: I contacted [redacted] DBA Inter County Rentals & Referrals and we spoke at length twice before meeting. She explained to me that she will provide a list of rentals and most of which, only she can provide. She stated that once we find a place that interests me then she will handle contacting the landlord and negotiate all agreements. [redacted] explained that the fee for her listings and services is $170.00 and that is a onetime fee for the next 10 years. Prior to meeting she had promptly returned my calls and answered any questions. I explained to [redacted] that I was only interested in rentals in [redacted] and [redacted] counties of Pennsylvania. Upon meeting with Angela, I gave her a check for $170.00, signed the agreement for her services and then and only then did she provided me with a listing of multiple counties which was sorted by phone number without the area code so I couldn't call the landlords myself and included multiple counties that did not interest me. I was also able to access many of these listing from public websites, such as, [redacted].com and the like. The listing was about 50 pages long which left me to determine which rentals were even in the county that I needed. This was time consuming and unnecessary. I spoke to [redacted] once after meeting her to ask her about a rental and she told me that she would be making a few calls to two specific landlords that she knows about properties for me (this was a Saturday). I hadn't heard back from her so I called her the following week and she said that she currently has 60 - 70 clients and to be patient, she is working on it. She told me to keep on top of her. About two weeks later, I called her work number and her cell number everyday for a week straight (approximately the end of June 2013). I left a few messages from those calls. I have never heard from [redacted] again. Her end of the service contract was not fulfilled.Desired Settlement: want a refund

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Regards,

Review: I contacted [redacted] of InterCounty Rentals in late October 2012 regarding a house rental. She had a few houses for rent that I saw in the paper, and during that conversation, we began to talk about my situation of needing a house as I was separating from my husband at the time. That is when she had informed me that she provides a service to assist people looking for rentals. She indicated that she obtains proprietary information on rentals prior to the newspapers and other rental publications. She told me that for a fee of $170.00 she would be able to help me find a house that takes pets, kids, all under $650.00 per month.

I set up a meeting with [redacted] in October where I signed a contract and paid her the "fee" in cash. At that time I was told by her that I would hear from her regarding rentals very shortly and that I would be in a house by December the latest. She did, at the time of the meeting, provide four addresses for me to drive by to see if they would work for me. None of the rentals were appropriate for me. During the month of November I was contacted by her less than 3 times. Most of that month I called her to see if she had anything. I, most always, had to contact her during November, asking if she had anything. The few places she suggested were not new. She had already given me those listings. They were the same few all the time - again, inappropriate for me. She would say she would call me with new leads, but never did. November came and went.

I called a number of times on December 13th and 14th to see if she had any leads. She said she was working on a few. I was on my way up to Connecticut and upon my return, the following week, she did give me the address of a place to look at that she had again, given me previously, but because it was only 750 sq. ft. and located over a garage I knew it would not be appropriate for my needs. I had already told her that it was not appropriate. I looked at it and I was right, inappropriate. I told her that she needed to keep looking and she promised to keep in touch with me when she had a lead. I did not hear from [redacted] until I called her on December 31st. By this time I began to keep records of our calls, as I became very disgruntled due to the lack of service and movement/progress/response on her part. During the Dec. 31 call I begged her to help me find a house rental as I was separating from my husband and needed to leave by January.

By this time I was looking on my own for a rental. Within two weeks I had found a house that would work for my needs. I have since moved in to that home. However, on January 29 I called [redacted] and asked her why she was not calling me, that I had implored her that I needed a place to live, due to my impending separation, and that is when she said she had some houses for me to look at. My question to her was if she had some houses how come she did not call me to let me know right away? How come it took me calling her for her to spur into action and tell me? I informed her at that time that I had paid for a service for which she did not provide. And, in fact, I found a house on my own, without any assistance from her. What had I paid for? That is when she said I had a responsibility to bug her. I said that I did not have any such responsibility even though I actually did bug her since I was the one who always had to call her and I essentially had paid for a service that I clearly was not getting.

I contacted a realtor friend who told me that she has heard of similar complaints about Intercounty rentals, and specifically [redacted].

I asked for a refund in February and she had indicated that it would be unlikely that I would receive a refund since she had provided a service and that I had signed a contract and that it was my responsibility to check out leads on the paper she gave me - the same paper all realtors receive, (so no proprietary information was provided to me at all).

A few weeks went by and I called again in March asking if she had talked to her "partner" to discuss a refund and she said that "they" would give me $50.00. I told her that I thought $100.00 would be more than fair as I was looking to get all my money back for services never rendered. After much arguing, [redacted] sent me a personal check in early April for $50.00. I called again in late April urging they pay $100.00, but she said she had already paid my my refund and that I had signed the contract and she was not obligated to give me any refund.Desired Settlement: A total refund of $120.00 since I have already received $50.00. That would total $170.00 initially paid to **. [redacted]

Re: ID #[redacted]

Dear **. [redacted]:

This letter is in response to yours to me concerning [redacted]. First, please note that the Subscription Agreement signed by **. [redacted] states in the third paragraph:

" We are a referral service only... We do not guarantee that the purchaser will find a satisfactoiy rental unit through our service. Our puxpose is to furnish the purchaser with lists of available rental units."

I rendered the services to **. [redacted] (in common with my other customers) that I was obligated to provide under the agreement Contrary to her incredible claim that the "paper" I provided her was "the same paper all realtors receive (so no proprietary information was provided to me at all)", the publication I provide to my clients is revised weekly and has nothing to do with what any paper "all realtors receive" (whatever that is supposed to mean). I provided her with a copy of my proprietary publication. If she wanted one of the weekly revisions, she could have given me a S ASE, as stated in the Notes given to her with her copy of the agreement, or come to my office to pick one up.

It would appear that **. [redacted] has too much time on her hands, that she put to use writing her long, incoherent letter, and having her coworker impersonate her in an abusive, vulgar call to my office. This call took place after I gave the $50 refund.

In view of the above, and in light of **. [redacted]'s completely unwarranted complaint against me, from this point on I intend to hold to my "NO REFUND" policy, as stated in the Subscription Agreement she signed, a copy of which is enclosed.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

Paragraph two of the letter dated Sept. 6 from **. [redacted] to **. [redacted] states that **. [redacted] was obligated to provide me her proprietary publication, essentially a list of real estate rentals that is revised weekly. **. [redacted] never told me about any SASE, whatever that stands for. I am assuming from her response that I paid $170.00 for one edition of her proprietary publication. That was never made clear to me. In fact, **. [redacted] stated that we would be in contact often, almost daily, until I found a rental to my liking and affordability.

Additionally, each time I spoke with **. [redacted] I was calm and polite. I found out that a co-worker of mine who was angry at what I was going through, took it upon herself and without my permission called **. [redacted]. From what my co-worker told me, it was not a pretty call, and I called **. [redacted] back immediately to apologize, even thought I had nothing to do with the initial call. Regardless, the call has nothing to do with this complaint and does not give the right for **. [redacted] to ignore her responsibilities in this case.

I paid for a service. I did not receive the service. I essentailly paid $170.00 for a poorly printed, hard to understand list of incoherent information. Intercounty rentals is a racket and exercises parasitic business practices on people in need.

Regards,

Review: We are planning to move to PA. we have been trying to get a place and we did pay them 170.00 on may 1, 2014. [redacted] assured us that we will have place by the time we move and she did provide me the list with phone number. We kept in touch with her we call her about every other 3 or 4 days in between which she stated that she will be able to get something asap. Now time is near and we tried to call and call and call her got no answer from her she claim she will call us back she did call back. I started to look up under Revdex.com and found out how she handle the business I want my money back and we will find the place ourselves. Please get my money back. time is near for us to move we are moving on June 2 2014.Desired Settlement: full refund.

Review: As I found myself in an urgent situation April 2014 requiring me to relocate accommodations within a couple weeks, my brother provided me the phone number to a lady he was corresponding with starting the previous week. His initial face-to-face meeting in her [redacted] County office left an impressionable memory as she provided him a ‘stack’ of listing for possible accommodations. Through the following week, many phone calls took place exchanging information on new listings for his review. Considering everything seemed to be working smoothly for him, when I mentioned to my brother that I was searching as well, he happily provided me her contact information. Upon the first call, [redacted] was very energetic and willing to share stories of her success and of her clients that experienced similar situations as me. She explained in detail how her business works, along with the fees for her services. We arranged a time we could meet to review my preferences and exchange documents and payment. Unfortunately due to a very sick cat, I had to reschedule my initial meeting for an emergency vet visit. It took numerous phone calls to arrange the rescheduled date as she would not return my call the same day, or only during my work hours even though she stated she works until 7:00pm – this should have been my warning. Now another week flies by and I’m down to viewing places and making final arrangements within a week. So we finally meet on a Saturday at a public location for an hour and half to review the list, my preferences and limitations, sign the agreement, and write a check. At this time, we confirm Thursday 5:30pm I will start looking at the accommodations of my choice. I left a voice mail message Monday of the few places I have of interest. Monday approaches late evening and no return call from [redacted]. Tuesday comes and goes and I still did not receive a return call. Wednesday morning I follow-up calling two phone numbers provided and left messages. Wednesday after departing work, I drove directly to her office as she still did not return my call. Office is empty; therefore, I sat outside her office and called both phone numbers again. Thursday morning I’m preparing to visit possible accommodations in the event [redacted] made the required calls. One important note not mentioned earlier was as part of the agreement, [redacted] would make contact with home owners and arrange our meeting, I was forbidden not to contact directly. Finally Thursday mid-morning [redacted] calls, but I’m at work and cannot answer her call. During my lunch break I listen to her voice mail message. Not once did she acknowledge she attempted to arrange any visits with my preferred locations, instead she excitedly explains she has a place that will be perfect for me. This is where my patience ends with her, but I return her call…to get her voice mail once again…and leave a voice mail message once again...to receive no return call. By this time I had no option but to move my belongings to storage and check into a hotel. Sadly to say, two months and I’m still living in a hotel as this insensitive individual had no problem taking money from a person who was out of work for several months, just started working part-time and had limited funds. Reflecting back on this experience, I should have questioned myself when I gave her a $170 check on a Saturday and she was able to cash it as early as Monday and then amazingly wouldn’t respond to my calls, that this was a possible scam. Also during this time, my brother was informed by [redacted] that a ranch style house for $450 was available. She actually arranged a meeting and sent my brother to a trashy trailer park with four condemned trailers. Though she provided a specific time to meet, my brother waited over an hour for no one to show up to discuss availability. This deceitful woman should be ashamed of herself taking advantage of people searching for assistance in hopes of finding a home, or safe shelter at the very least. I’m still waiting for my arranged viewings of the accommodations...

She clearly did not fulfill her service according our agreement.Desired Settlement: Inter County Rentals & Referrals should take the responsibility of refunding those who did not receive the service agreed upon. The owner should recognize her limits and manage her work and customers in a professional manner to prevent her from not being able to commit to providing good customer service. In addition, the owner should remove any adds as she clearly states she has so many customers that she's working constantly. If she refuses, she should considering hiring an honest business partner or assistant.

Review: I met with this lady [redacted] a representative for this company about three weeks ago. I paid her $170 to help us find a new place to live. She had no problem meeting us on that first saturday and getting my check to the bank that sunday but has done nothing for us since. She claimed to e able to get in these houses to look at them and be able to talk landlord prices down. So far all we ever get is her voicemail and when we do hear from her its just a run around. Look at this place look at that place. Have not stepped foot in a house to look at yet. The list of houses she gave us im not so sure are even for rent anymore. Not only that but the list looks like something my 7yr old daughter made. No organization and half the houses are not even close to the area we told her we wanted. Some dont have addresses and some dont even have phone numbers to call. Not sure if there is anything you can do but I am starting to feel this is an advertised scam and would not want to see anyone else put out the money for nothing like I seemed to have done....Desired Settlement: I either want the service I paid for or my money back... This is just insane
