Our response is as follows: Payment for our online traffic school course was processed via electronic check for $The transaction was originally approved by *** *** Services on 11/28/2017, however, ***, Inc., the third-party check processing agent for ***, was unsuccessful
in their attempt to process payment and clear the transactionAs such, ***, Inc indicated the reason for the declined electronic check transaction was No Existing Account Found. *** subsequently transmitted a return chargeback notice to us indicating that an electronic check transaction was returned, and payment was not debited from the cardholder’s account, however we still received payment for the transactionUnfortunately, *** does not provide client contact information so we were unable to notify our customer. Due to a lack of transaction details, ***, Incwas unsuccessful in their attempt to contact the consumer to recover the fundsTherefore, no payment was processed, and the transaction was put into ***’s collections department on 12/20/2017. On 12/21/the consumer contacted us regarding a communication they received from ***, Inc., in which they attempted to collect on the debtSince we had been paid for the transaction, *** Incwas the debt holder so the consumer was instructed that all payment concerns were being handled via *** Inc.’s collections department directly. We believe the misunderstanding, which resulted in this complaint, was a result of miscommunication with the consumerHad we known who the consumer was at the time the transaction was declined, our initital response would have been to contact the consumer directly.
