On November 7, 2016 InterCon replaced an aging gas service for [redacted] by installing a new 1-inch gas service to the property/building.  The sewer lateral was not located and InterCon inadvertently damaged the sewer lateral.  After being made aware of the damage, InterCon used a...

sewer camera to visually inspect the sewer.  In short the sewer goes from cast iron to pvc, creating a lip.  Also, there are a significant amount of tree roots which had infiltrated the sewer line.  The depth of the sewer lateral at the main is around 7-feet deep, the sewer rises to the building to a shallower depth of about 2.5 feet.  Typically, sewer laterals are in excess of 4 feet deep to be below the frost line.InterCon hired [redacted] [redacted] per the request of the homeowner.  [redacted] [redacted] did perform the repair of the damaged sewer.  Unfortunately, [redacted] [redacted] caused a mess to the property during the repair when their jetting machine back sprayed.  The property owner was very upset when this mess occurred and removed [redacted] [redacted] from the site.  After this event, InterCon hired Country Plumber, Inc. to finish making the repairs, which occurred on December 13, 2016.After a couple weeks, InterCon was notified by the property owner of another sewer backup.  On December 29, 2016, InterCon sent a camera crew to video the sewer line and noticed the repair performed by Country Plumber, Inc. resulted in the sewer line "dropping" but the flow in the video is good.  The property owner requested and InterCon complied to make adjustments to the alignment of the sewer lateral pipes.  InterCon did this work to satisfy the property owner.  Again, the video of the sewer camera did not indicate any lack of flow or obstructions in the sewer lateral.  So, on January 3, 2017, InterCon dug up the sewer line and corrected the alignment of the pipe connections and placed a minimum of 12-inches of gravel on top and around the pvc sewer pipe per the property owner's request.On December 7, 2017, the property owner notifies InterCon of their belief of reduced flow of the sewer line.  The property owner is alleging the ground shifted and moved the sewer line.  On December 7, 2017, InterCon again videod the sewer lateral and was unable to find any video evidence of flow issues along the repair.InterCon believes it has adequately cured the issue from the damage caused by InterCon.  The remaining sewer lateral is still case iron and could have other issues resulting in flow restrictions.  The video evidence of the repair performed by [redacted] [redacted] and further repaired by Country Plumber and adjusted by InterCon is not causing the flow restrictions.Respectfully responding,InterCon Construction, Inc.Jamie [redacted]

Construction was performing work at Mr. [redacted]'s house.  The reason for the work being performed was the replacement of a natural gas service to [redacted].  In order to ensure a safe operating system, including the potential for a natural gas leak, Alliant Energy periodically replaces and upgrades facilities.  InterCon was contracted to perform such facility replacement at Mr. [redacted]'s house.This work was performed in December 2014.  The ground was frozen at the time of construction.  As is typical for our business, we notify the customer of our return in the spring to restore the property.  We leave contact information for discussion of the restoration at the property via  a door hanger.Southern Wisconsin did have warm weather the past two weeks, which began the thawing process.  As is best practice for restoration, we usually will not perform restoration until the ground is fully thawed and the opportunity for cold and snow are mostly gone.  Mr. [redacted] did not believe this to be acceptable; therefore, we did perform the restoration at his property on Thursday, March 19, 2015.In response to Mr. [redacted]'s 3 hours n the middle of winter with no heat, InterCon made three separate and documented attempts to coordinate the work with the property owner.  Unfortunately, those attempts were unsuccessful.  As the work does need to be performed for safety purposes, we did the work and left notification at the property to contact Alliant Energy to restore natural gas service to the home.Respectfully responding,[redacted]Vice PresidentInterCon Construction, Inc.###-###-####

Review: Was on my way to work when my car was damaged by the lack of this companies safety. Their driver was driving a backhole with hose attached to the back. Why I do not know. He had it stretched across the whole street WITHOUT the street being blocked off or another employee watching for traffic which is a huge safety issue. I even took a video of this to prove it. I could not see it and drove into it causing severe damage to my car. I drive a collectors car and because I drive a older car their safety guy "[redacted]" said they will only pay me $900.00 when my es[redacted]ate for damages is $3461.52. I have talked to [redacted] several [redacted]es now and am not getting anywhere. Their driver that was driving the backhole said "You are luckily you didn't get killed" I asked this driver why he didn't even have the road blocked off and his reply was "I don't know" My car was very dependable and taken care of. I just got it back from the shop just days before this happened. I cannot even replace my car with $900.00.Desired Settlement: I want my car repaired. I had my es[redacted]ate faxed to [redacted]. My desired outcome is $3461.52

Review: This company was subcontracted by Alliant Energy to replace my gas service to my house. I believe it was in December.They left me for 3 hours in the middle of winter with no heat in my house because the gas was left off until Alliant arrived to turn it back on.They left a huge mess in my yard. I need this to be cleaned up. They told me they would do it around May. This is unacceptable.Desired Settlement: I want the damage to my lawn repaired by April 1st, 2015
