Hello Shipper & Revdex.com, As the shipper has described, when they expressed displeasure with how boxes were placed in their new home, we sent two Giants over to rearrange boxes on the same day that they called in (1/18/17)This was done free of chargeWe also reimbursed them $(which
amounts to 50% of the packing and prepping labor charges) as requested as a token of good faith for the sub-par labeling and organization We sent the shipper a claims form on 1/19/and the shipper returned the claims form on 2/6/which is when we became aware of the missing high value artwork and then the high value missing purse on 2/7/We have reimbursed the shipper for the small damaged and missing items (***, stemware, power cords, remotes, TV)For the missing high value items, we launched a throughout investigationSince this was a local move, there is no inventory to cross reference however the missing items should have been listed on the High Value Form (Declaration of Items of Extraordinary Value) which the shippers received prior to the move on 11/21/On the day of the move, they did not list any high value items (attached is the signed copy)Per our Bill of Lading, we cannot be held liable for “Items of extraordinary value not listed on the High Value Inventory form”Additionally, the crew has no recollection of handling those two itemsAfter completing our investigation our position is that the missing painting and purse were not in our care, custody, or control The shipper did purchase $50,worth of Actual Cash Value valuation (not Full Replacement Value)However, the claim exceeds our deductible and therefore must be handled by our insurance companyThis claim was submitted to our insurance company on 4/10/for them to adjustOur understanding is that they have been in communication with the shipper I apologize that this has been a frustrating process but we have been trying to be very thorough while also going above and beyond to try to rectify the situation Sincerely, *** *** Quality Control Manager Gentle Giant Moving Company
