I am submitting my estimate I gave to Ms*** and others, in hers it shows I was only supposed to paintPrep and removal were not Included in the estimateShe said she and son would do that, I charge $35.00/HRfor Removal/ Prep for paintingI have always written estimates with what I will
doEither, In the hourly form or Indicating areas that workThe examples show thatHer estimate shows I was not the supposed to perform any prep workAlso, you will notice additional jobs listed on her estimateI went to her home prior to scheduling the job, she decided to add the bathroom and her son's cedingI scheduled days to do the painting of the Kitchen, Stairwell, Bathroom, Cabinets in the Kitchen and Bath, and Ceiling in BedroomNowhere, is it included In the estimate that I was to do any removal and prep on the wallsI charge $35/hrfor Removal/ Prep for painting, she Indicated that she and her son would thatI show up a half day earlier, because she had an issue with backsplast was pitted and chipped from the removal of the tile, The wallpaper is still on the walls, indicates she will do the removalShow up the next day, wallpaper is still on the wailContinued to tend to backsplash, sanded and re-muddedIn the bath, framed off and drywalled where old medicine cabinet was (this was not known until the mirror was removed)At this point, I still haven't started on anything that was scheduled or estimated onRemoved the wallpaper, she made no effort to doAt this point, I was probably a day behindSecond full day in, primed Kitchen walls with an oil-based primer to seal the wallsAgain, not part of quoteNext, finally doing something I was scheduled to doi removed the Kitcabinet doors and took them Into her basementHere they were washed twice with thinner, sanded and primedThis was also done to Kitcal)inet frame workAsked if she was going to replace/ update the fixtures, said yes, she plans on getting new onesPut up temporary lights, so I could do my prep.Next day, she Indicates flaws on walls, cabinets and stair panelingThe house is 60+ years oldIn the Kitchen, prior to the wallpaper there was tile on most of walls, someone else had done the removal of that workAlso, you could see the evidence of previous paint jobsFilled holes and skimmed several areasLater primedIssues with the woodwork and paneling, Wood putty is only good on filling holes and deep gougesWell worn, with scratches, dings and missing moldingI'm assuming it was put in the Ws, paneling nails have a flat head and are colored to match the wood finishHad a coat of the paint onYou could see all theseIndicated that pound these in or nail set the nails they could look wxseIn the bath, it has been remodeled several times, 34.1" drywall was placed over original wails (i .had to do this when I framed in medicine cabinet)Again, a previous owner must have had wallpaper up and did a faux finish to cover up the flaws, First coat, showed flaws, I again patched areas and sandedAt this point, she's more concerned with when I'm going to finish and informing me that I haven't done anything righi: according to what someone else or google told herShe never made any effort to enter any of work areas to see what going onOn Monday (5/22), made her first remark about having to have someone else come in to redo the job after I'm goneI'm in between coats, and still patching and skimming wallsThis is not uncommon, but, adds to time on the jobWhich was not scheduledFollowing day, twice made the remark, she's going get someone else after I'm goneThat's when I decided to cut my Icses and leaveI determined at that point there was no need to finishI put back the fixtures in the bath back in order, cleaned up my work area and packed up, As pertaining to other issues, I place drops over all work areasKitchen and Bath counter tops are new, drops were on at sill time and splash taped to prevent possible damage (from sanding)Drops were shaken multiple times and counter was cleaned after afterwards, didn't drop anything in the sink or counterLight fixtures asked if she was replacing, said yesGFI outlet was away from the wall when I got thereShe asked if I could get it positioned on the wall betterDid it, working when I leftRefrigerator, showed me that, I never bumped into it or hit it with anythingI pulled it out at least times while I was there to work without any instancesCabinet doors, had to be removed to be worked onLaundry tub area, spent a lot time thereBetween removal of wallpaper, washing down walls, preparing mud for parching, general cleaning of the areas I worked in, and cleaning my work equipment, I removed any clebris for the drain and washout areaFor how much water it takes to clean brushes, rollers and other equipment, I never had any back up and the drain flow was fine when I leftIn the time I was there, I was told she was replacing the ceiling fan, light over the sink, handles on cabinets and drawersShe did not decide on the hinges for cabinets, repaint or replaceHard to put back up light fixtures when I hey were thrown outLeft my temp lights upCabinet doors, filled Ihole/ door for pullsWas going to have drill holes for the new onesHinges, new ones might need to adjust alignmentOld ones, need al on color to sprayNever tried to have these items there that I know ofMade no sense to reinstall with this unknownFinally, it wasn't until I got home later that night, I noticed what I did and she addedJust didn't add upHad she informed me that she wasn't going to do the removal/ prep, I would have rescheduled the job because I needed at least 2-days moreThe estimate only included the cost oflabor to paintDid include my hourly removal/ prep chargeAlso, I don't include the paint and materials cost in the estimate

I am rejecting this response because: Scott was told by me that  I wanted the walls, cabinets, paneling to be skim coated, sanded, primed and whatever else needed to be done. He did not do the work correctly. I had corporate Sherwin Williams in my home to looked at the job he did and they informed me that he did not do anything correct. When he tells you he sanded and primed the cabinet doors he is not telling you the truth. Sherwin Williams verified that to me in writing. I am in the process of getting estimates to have all the damage repaired and the job to be done correctly and I want Scott S[redacted] to pay for it! Why would I or anyone hire someone to paint without the wallpaper and glue being removed first? Why would a professional painter paint over that mess. As a professional he knows that the walls need to be prepped first. He just didn't care. He was in my home for 6 days and left the job damaged and unfinished. He would tell me he will be here at 8 am and never show up to 11 am. He can deny anything he wants but I have pictures, letters and estimates to back up everything I am stating!
