Thank you for contacting us in regards to Mr*** complaint on SundayWe are sorry he was upsetOur return policy is certainly not set up to irritate anyone, but is a standard operating procedure for retail businessesManufacturers have their policies as wellWe followed the manufacturer's
policy as stated on their packaging
I was aware of what transpired because my Floor Supervisor, Rose, was the person trying to help himShe is a very knowledgeable and helpful personShe had advised me this incident because Mr*** took pictures of her and of our posted policyTaking pictures of a person without their permission is impolite and quite confrontational
I think Mr*** was upset with his mole problem and took it out on the cashier and manager instead of making us his ally, so we could help him with the mole problemMoles are a tough problem and our rainy weather has not helped people in their fight against moles tearing up their yardsWe are sorry this transaction took such a negative turn
I guess would have assumed that he would have contacted the manufacturer, as the box instructed (See attached picture of the boxHe had saved all of the boxes and repackaged everything, so he knew the manufacturer's warranty stated on the box.) We suggested this as well to him on Sunday but it appears instead he chooses a different route of filing a complaint and threatening us with an ugly YouTube video
We do take back products that are resalable, (See copy of his receipt that requests items be resalable and returned within days.) but a used product cannot in all honesty to our customers be sold as new as Mr*** states he requested by the return policyThat would not be ethical for us as a business to sell used productsTo explain a bit: He brought in products that had been used for a month by his own admissionThese are battery operated mole deterrentsThe battery comes with the product and he said he had them in the ground for a month, so the life of the battery was certainly not resalable as newBatteries are a consumableThere was even still a little dirt on the productWe knew the products still worked as one of them kept sending out its vibrating beeping sound(per my cashier) We actually have been selling these since In the last five years of sales records I only show that two have been returned, and of those only one was defective
Again we are sorry the customer was upsetWe will take the product back from him, but we will not resell these as he thought should be doneI do not know why they did not work for him, if it was because we have had so much rain and the ground is waterlogged or if there was an obstruction(See warnings on box picture) Please ask Mr*** to bring his mole movers back into the store, with his receiptI will be the supervisor on duty Saturday until about 4PM if he would like to talk to me, or he can come back in on Sunday and Rose will help him again
