We received a phone call today from International Credit Recovery Inc in Vestal, NY. Michelle Decker said they are a collections agency, trying to collect payment on an overdue invoice sent by Progressive Business Publications. She said one of our employees agreed to a free 30-day trial subscription of some publication. In order for him not to be charged, he would have had to cancel the subscription within 30 days. We have never received the publication or an invoice, and we only became aware of this issue when she called today. I have done some research online about both companies, and the only answers are that they are scammers who work together to get money. When people tell them they won't pay because they never agreed to this deal, they threaten to "move forward" with collections.
