In response to Mr. Patrick F[redacted] complaint, On April 5, 2017 Mr. Fu[redacted] picked up his vehicle after we replaced the rear main seal that was leaking, he had an appointment on April 3, 2017, unfortunately we did finish it in the estimated time frame we told him (2 days) but we did stay after...

hours on the 4th to make sure he would pick it up by the next day. This oil leak was confirmed at the 500 mile service upon his request to check if there was a leak. This is why he had the appointment for April 3rd. As for the oil rag on the transmission, we do apologize for leaving it on transmission, this was the first we heard of it, and if that was causing it to not turn on properly we would have noticed it before handing the keys to the customer, and before he left. There is nothing on the transmission itself on the outside that would cause it to do that. Regardless of that we have spoken to the mechanics and made sure they clean up, and not leave anything behind that is not part of the engine, we try to maintain a clean work environment, and try to make sure the vehicles are not dirty when handing the customer the keys again. The customer is also claiming that he has paid $1564.00 when he actually paid $1'513.51 (we will attach paper work showing what was paid), he was aware of the charges, and did not mention that to the office staff about the increase when picked up the vehicle on the 24th of February, if anything the price increase was only $263.51, due to tax and other chargers that will be shown on our paperwork. The customer is correct as well on the time we took to finish the engine install, we gave him an estimated five days, but unfortunately we were busy and short staffed, and could not finish in the five days estimated to the customer, but we did speak to him told him we would install a new timing belt at no charge for the time it was here for, the customer agreed and we finished his car. All our  prices are estimate only, for the reason that we do not know if the customer will want to add any accessories or if the core is broken and there is a core charge (all our prices are good with a rebuildable core), his was not. On April 5th when Mr. Fu[redacted] picked up the vehicle, we spoke to him about the extra charges he is claiming, he has told us that the $300.00 he overpaid were for his car to pass emissions, nothing to do with then engine, he had a problem with a cracked intake tube which he said he had a replacement at home and a bad intake sensor that we believe is the one we informed him about on the 500 mile service, he also claims they replaced the intake manifold gasket which was under our warranty, since he did not go into much detail on to what they took off we think they removed the air manifold to replace the sensor and decided to replace the gasket. We let the customer know that if the intake gasket was damaged that he should have brought it to us or told us when we replaced the seal and we would have replaced it at not cost to him. Unfortunately we cannot be responsible for any charges the emissions shop gave to Mr. Fu[redacted], since he did assure us that the work that was done was to pass emissions, he is also aware that the warranty only covers our parts not the original external accessories (customer is aware), that would include the sensor the other shop replaced, and the intake tube he knew was cracked. NOTE: We are attaching three papers that are signed and initialed by the customer.1). The original estimate signature of approval and estimate amount with rebuildable core (customer does have a copy of this estimate form)2). The final work order form (parts and labor)3). The final engine invoiceIf you look 2 it will show what was charged on parts and labor (bottom left hand side) and form 3 will show what the engine price is. You you add both totals together you will get the $1'513.51 they customer paid, and you will look at the extra parts they paid for on form one.Thank You, Tony *.[redacted]International Engines
