Review: Purchased diamond ring. The setting broke after two days of use. Contacted the Jeweler about the matter. They offered to take a look at it with an additional charge to repair. I requested a refund, but they insisted the store policy does not allow refunds. Despite the small print on the receipt about refunds, the sales rep ([redacted]) told my husband if I did not like the ring, we could bring it back. My husband no longer wanted the ring simply because he had been given the runaround for several days without anyone returning his phone calls, despite the promise to do so. Instead of a refund, they kept offering a store credit. Finally we agreed, but they told us we had to purchase something twice as much as our original purchase. We questioned why, but they could not give a reasonable explanation other than it was store policy, which was not on the receipt. I asked about upgrading my wedding ring with the store credit, but they would only offer me $100. Both store representatives , one of which was the store manager, kept repeating what their store policy was and insisted we let them repair (for a small fee). We requested to speak with the store owner, but they are out of town. Every request we had to resolve the issue was met with resistance. At that point, she pretty much left us with the option of accepting the defective ring or lose our money all together, before letting us know that her ultimate goal was customer satisfaction and how she wanted us to be happy. We felt defeated.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund or the ability to purchase/exchange for something else without having to pay out of pocket additional fees. We DO NOT want the defective ring.
