As the Regional Vice President at Edgewood Management and a representative for their respective properties, it saddens me to know that we have fallen short of the superior customer service practices that our organization is built uponIt is our goal to respond to all resident calls and concerns efficiently and effectively communicate the status of the concerns as we work to resolve themUpon further research we’ve discovered that the lines of communication with regard to this particular situation were lack luster and we have implemented procedures to help diminish such occurrences in the future.As a preferred provider of affordable housing, we aim to create a pleasing living environment at all of our communitiesIt is through the collective voice of valued residents such as this, which allow us further direct our efforts in staff development and trainingShould future concerns arise, we welcome the opportunity to speak directly with the involved parties and work toward an amicable solution.We appreciate the opportunity to respond to this grievance.Regards, [redacted] Edgewood Management Corporation

I am rejecting this response because:
Edgewood did NOT offer a modified contract as a result of this complaintEdgewood finally offered the modification over three months after this complaint was filed as a result of a wholly different issue involving property damage we suffered just before Thanksgiving 2016. Edgewood has made no attempt, to date, to contact us about or correct any of the problems this complaint highlights and it took them over months to respond to the Revdex.comTo the contrary, since this complaint was filed the problem with garbage has gotten worse to the point that I have captured crows and squirrels on video spreading the contents of discarded bags of household trash around the property in flocksMy wife's car was struck a second time (the damage referred to in the prior paragraph) and Edgewood even managed to improperly deposit our December rent check into the wrong account resulting in us receiving an eviction notice which forced me to take a day off work to ensure they actually dismissed the case weeks after we concluded the problem was their error.I urge Revdex.com to consider all of this when choosing how to proceedMy original complaint, in particular, included the concern that Edgewood is unresponsiveI think that their choice to not respond for over five months to Revdex.com rather decisively proves my point about them

** *** called the leasing office today and used vulgar/inappropriate language requesting to have a light bulb replaced Despite the language that *** *** used the leasing agent submitted a maintenance ticket to replace the light bulb, and informed *** *** that the bulb would cost
$12.50. *** *** then responded to the leasing agent, again with vulgar/inappropriate language, stating that she was not paying for the lightbulb and that “somebody better be at my apartment today”. As far as *** ***’s request to have her unit inspected for rodents, the manager put her unit on the list for the exterminators next visit. Regarding the reference to mold in her unit, she just had her unit painted and there is no indication of any mold in her unit, other than bathroom mildew that might be present because of poor of housekeeping Shortly after the call, *** *** arrived at the leasing office with another person, Ms HaZ*** She proceeded to yell profanities, creating a scene, and complaining about her rent increase. At that time, there were three prospects, two residents, and a police officer (Officer ***) in the office that witnessed *** ***’s conduct. The community manager spoke with *** *** informing her that she was not to speak with inappropriate language either in the office, or to any of the staff, However *** *** continued with this behavior. The manager then told *** *** to leave the leasing building and at that time, Officer *** stepped in and asked *** *** to lower her voice and refrain from using inappropriate language

July 7, 2017 [redacted] Revdex.com 1411 K St. NW, 10th Floor Washington, DC 2005-3404   Dear [redacted]:  This notice is in response to the letter dated June 26, 2017 from your establishment regarding maintenance concerns from [redacted] at [redacted]...

[redacted] in Portsmouth, Virginia.  The notice detailed complaints that [redacted] presented regarding the leak under her kitchen sink, a hole in her utility closet wall, a pole for the gas line in her utility closet that is preventing the closet door to close, and possible gas leak in the unit. This letter is to serve as confirmation that the following repairs have been completed: Concern                                    �... Action Taken  Kitchen sink leaking                                    �... Leak was determined to be from garbage disposal.  A new hose was Installed hose on garbage disposal and disposal has been rewired. Hole in utility closet wall                               The hole that [redacted] is referencing is an access for the water supply cut off for the washing machine connection in her unit.  This cut off has to be accessible for any needed repairs in the future that may require the water to be shut off.  Pole from possible gas leak                          The pole that [redacted] is concerned about is the pole for the condensation line from the air condition unit.  There is no gas going through this pole.  The pole was pushed further into the floor which now allows for the utility door to properly open and close. Gas/Carbon monoxide leak                         Fuel line replaced by Performance Plumbing on May 25th.  Line has been pressure tested to confirm no leaks.  Also, repairs were inspected by the inspector from Columbia Gas before services were restored.   At this time, all of [redacted]’s concerns have been addressed and corrective action has been taken.  During a telephone follow up with [redacted] on July 7, 2017, [redacted] has confirmed that all of her issues have been addressed and she has no further maintenance concerns at this time.   Should there be any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.   Thank you,     Brenda D[redacted] Community Manager
