Review: We started a NYTimes large print subscription in July 2015, then cancelled it on August *, 2015. We paid $7.60 on 8/**/2015 for the papers received. NYTimes re-started the subscription on Aug. [redacted] without our concent, and finally cancelled that subscription again on 10/**/2015 after we called and sent invoiced back marked "CANCELLED" repeatedly. They say we still owe $22.80 on this subscription.

NYTimes also says that we then started a 2nd subscription (all this through the Internet) on Aug. [redacted], and they cancelled this subscription (that we weren't even aware they had opened) on 11/*/2015 for non-payment. We owe $19 on that subscription. On 10-**-2015, we emailed them that we kept receiving bills for a subsccription even though we had cancelled by telephone, mail, and via email. They never responded.Desired Settlement: Cancel amounts due.

Review: Months ago, I responded to a [redacted] promotion for 4 weeks of [redacted] delivery for $8. I paid that amount and did receive the paper for those 4 weeks. I thought that was the end of it. When I received a paper for a 5th week, I called the [redacted] to straighten things out. I explained that I had only wanted the promotion and that I thought it was unethical to continue to deliver and bill me. On 7/*, I received confirmation # [redacted] and I understood that the matter was resolved. On September [redacted], International Media Concepts sent me a letter demanding payment. The letter said if there were a misunderstanding, I should call to get a resolution. I did call. On September *, I spoke with [redacted]. I explained the situation and she said she would take care of it (service request # [redacted]). Again, it was my understanding that the matter was resolved. I recently received a letter (dated 11/**/2014) from a collection agency, [redacted], to which my account had been referred. I have notified this agency, via email, that I am disputing the claim. (I also said that I would be filing this complaint with your organization).Since then, I have received several letters from the [redacted] offering me other promotions - the last one was only two weeks ago! Isn't it ironic that the [redacted] is sending my account to collection at the same time it is asking me to subscribe again?Desired Settlement: I would like the account to be closed with no balance outstanding. I would like a letter of apology from the [redacted]. After that letter, I would like NEVER to be contacted again by the [redacted].I appreciate any help you can give me in this matter.

Review: Discovered that the company began double and triple charging my account on a monthly basis. Called to address the situation and they refused to refund the overcharges. I called credit card and disputed charges immediately and cancelled account with the company. Since then the company has continued to harrass with billing statements attempting to charge me for services not received or accepted, because they still want the overcharges paid. I have spoke with Customer Service directly. I have posted notes with invalid statements via the mail. Still the harrassment and fraud activity continues. They have now been advised that all consumer protection agencies will be notified, as well as the media and intent for litigation to the fullest extint of the law.

Here is the latest correspondence I sent on 7/**/14:

To Whom It May Concern:

You are continuing to send erroneous billing notices to me in an attempt to collect monies not due you (IMC#[redacted] & [redacted]). Moreover, I no longer have an account with the NY Times. This situation has already been addressed repeatedly and as a result of your continuing to collect monies not due you, this will be reported to the Revdex.com and all other consumer protection agencies effective immediately. This will be followed up with a mass media shame campaign as well as litigation to the fullest extint of the law for the following reasons:

1) You overcharged my account and when you were caught you refused to refund the money. As a result, all overcharges were disputed, account cancelled and credit card informed not to do business with your organization ever again.

2) You overcharged my account by double charging and triple charging my credit card on a monthly basis without authorization to do so. The amount to be charged every month was $34.00 for 4 Sunday editions a month. You charged an average of $68 - $102. No such services were accepted, because I only needed one paper a week.

3) The overcharges are documented evidence to your fraudulent attempts.

4) It is also inappropriate to be taking advantage of and abusing the elderly in this fashion and in thinking they would not catch the charges. There are laws against this to protect the older consumer.

5) You have sent several invoices attempting to collect these monies from me. I don't pay people for services not delivered or requested. As a result, you are harrassing me. There are laws against this to protect all consumers and the elderly.

Finally, I will not accept any further abuse from your organization. I will not ever support your services and will tell everyone I know of this experience as stated herein. It is now too late for you to rectify the situation. You had the opportunity to do the right thing and failed to do so. It is sad to see a large corporation such as the NY Times fall into the category of unethical business practices. I used to think the NY Times was a top-notch company, but not anymore.Desired Settlement: I want them to stop sending false bills, stop trying to collect monies not due them, stop harrassing me and more importantly stop their unethical business practices. I want a letter of apology and then never to hear from them again.
