International Montessori Schools Reviews (1)

Review: We registered both of our kids to attend the 2013 summer camp and 2013-2014 academic year at the International Montessori Schools. We experience major issues during the summer camp and both of our kids never adjusted to the school during the entire duration of the camp with my youngest crying at every morning drop-off. Here are a few of the issues we encountered: My oldest came home with a significant bite mark on the back shoulder and the school staff was not even aware that it took place. My youngest was sent home with a huge soiled diaper with drier poop smeared all over the back and shirt. Our children never stayed for lunch but in the middle of the summer the teacher of my youngest thought they were staying and sat my youngest child with the other children having lunch. When we came to pick them up and she indicated that she thought they were staying for lunch and we questioned that they did not have any lunch sent to school, she said that she was planning on giving our youngest some of her nectarine. (We would have expected to have received a call from school letting us know that they were missing their lunch!)They asked all parents to provide a bucket, watering can, gardening gloves and gardening boots for each child as they would be gardening as part of their summer camp. We confirmed that these items were needed even if the child was attending the school part time and spent close to $150 for these supplies for both of our kids. My oldest child indicated that they never used their gardening supplies. However, their supplies were found spread all over the other childrens cubbies on several occasions which makes us believe that even though our kids never used them, other kids may have. The lack of organization at the camp has also been very disappointing. The first day, our sippy cup was lost but found by the next camp day. A bathing suit was also misplaced on the second day of camp and we had to search for it and found in another childs bag (even though all my childrens belongings are labelled with their names).Due to the issues we encountered during the summer camp, we pulled them out of the school for the 2013-2014 academic year.Desired Settlement: We have paid a total of $3,273.25 to the International Montessori Schools for both of our kids summer camp ($2,220), school application fee ($150) and 5% down-payment for the school year ($903.25). We provided the administration with almost 8 weeks advance notice prior to the start of the school year that the children would not be attending. We would like to at least to be reimbursed for the 5% down-payment for the school year ($903.25).
