International Technical Support Corporation Reviews (36)

I tried to get help directly from Linksys, but somehow was redirected to this site and typed in my problem and they said they would have tech call me back. The tech called back and said he need remote access to fix the problem. I was reluctant but I did so anyway. He went through a few thing of which I watched and then said I needed a program over $200. I said no. I said I would give them$25. and they said no. I said I didn't want their program, he downloaded the trial version of Privacy Essential. I said I didn't want it and to disconnect. They disconnected but It was a total scam. I deleted the program and hope they didn't leave any thing else in my system such as a Trojan. The person was definitely from India. The US Government should be investigating this company and have it shut down.

Hi [redacted],
We have been in touch with [redacted] and tried to fix his issue again. Since [redacted] didn't find the services as per satisfaction we went ahead and refunded the service charge in his account. This charge has been successfully transferred in [redacted]'s account.
/>
As a organization we believe in 100% customer satisfaction the reason behind refusing the charge first time was that during the complaint [redacted] was not willing to let our [redacted]s check the issue. Since he let us check the issue second time, we went ahead and fixed these issues and refunded the amount as promised in the earlier email to [redacted].

I called Epson for problems with my computer freezing up when I tried to print pictures from computer to new printer. while I was on hold for an epson tech support, they suggested going to their techsupport website and getting further help. I did, and was recommended to call ###-###-####, for help. Gary, the gentleman that helped me had a foreign accent, and wanted control of my computer to see the problem. He said that he could not help me unless I let him access it and see the issues. Thus, the problem, he said, was a network issue and I asked if he was saying I needed some protection I was going to have to pay for?!? Of course, I thought, $280, and 40 to 60 minutes to load it. I said no, I was going to further investigate his company before I would give him that option. Then, the HigH pressure sales came!!! Definitely a scam! And I let him access my computer for 40 minutes, I am so upset! He said he was located at [redacted].

Review: On 12-**-2015, I contacted what I believed was the [redacted]. I was attempting to retrieve my password to my router. The man took control of my computer and began underlining things on my screen, in red, claiming that someone had infected my computer. Turns out that I was not dealing with Lynksys, but International Technical Support instead. He told me that it would cost me $298.00 to clean my computer. I thought that sounded like an awful lot, but I agreed, thinking that this company was legitimate. He had me sign some paperwork that I was satisfied with the work performed, because, at the time, I was.

On 12-**-2015, I called what I believed to be support for [redacted]. I was having problems logging on. The man who answered the phone again took control of my computer and again, began underlining items on my screen. He told me that my computer had been infected, just like the first man did. I asked him if he was from International Technical Support and he said, "Yes." When I told him that I had just had his company clean my computer the week before, he hung-up on me. I believe that my computer was not infected either time.

I disputed the charge on my credit card, but [redacted] Card has not been any help.

On 01-**-2016, I spoke to "Pooja," a supervisor with International Technology Support. She told me that she would issue a credit for $148.00 in 5-6 business days. Her excuse for not crediting me with the $298.00 was that they had loaded software on my computer. I have deleted this software due to my not trusting this company. As of today, I have not received any credit.Desired Settlement: I desire a complete refund of $298.00,

Review: I needed computer security. I did an online search and found ITSC and contacted them. I was given instruction that one of their associates would have to enter my computer to perform all the tasks associated with the problems my computer was having, eliminate them and to add the security measures my computer would need to prevent problems in the future. They also told me he would have to go thru my computer thru my bank to retrieve the $270.00 for their services and that it would take most of the night to do the work and that my computer would be fine by the morning when I got up.

Never allow someone to enter your computer or go thru your bank to retrieve money. That was ignorance on my part.

Almost a year later a friend from work who is a computer guru came over with a security disk and removed ITSC from my computer and removed over 30 viruses and has my computer operating better than what ITSC provided.

Someone from ITSC calls me daily wanting to access my computer and I tell them I want a refund and they want to get back into my computer and will not give me a refund.Desired Settlement: Do not allow International technical Support Corporation (ITSC) to operate in the USA.

Response:

At this time, I have not been contacted by International Technical Support Corporation regarding complaint ID [redacted].Sincerely,[redacted] People from ITSC call to perform service on my pc, they don't call in regard to my complaint. Thank you, [redacted]

I was having problems with my [redacted] Router, I called [redacted] and they forwarded my call to International Technical Support Corporation. I was told that ITSC was accredited [redacted] support but that is not the case. As with the other complaints there were too many unusual questions asked; they did fix my router but also downloaded a 'cleaning' program but did not get rid of the virus. My next step is to contact them and cancel my subscription. Also, I was told that the person I talked with was in NY but a lot of the accents heard in the background do not sound Northeastern US.

Review: On Aug. *, 2014 I contacted ITSC about a problem I had with my printer not recognizing a newly replaced ink cartridge. I had been communicating with the printer manufacturer and they had replace the printer, yet I was still having the same problem. I spoke with technician [redacted] at ITSC and he told me that if I let him take control of my computer, he could look into the problem. I reluctantly allowed him to and he ran what appeared to be a full scan which took some time. When finished he said the printer was not the problem, but instead the problem was with my computer, and that it appeared someone had hacked into my personal IP address, something I know nothing about. He downloaded a anti-virus program and convinced me that he could fix the problem if I agreed to sign up for a contract. Further that if my problems persisted that he would even replace the printer if I signed on to the contract. After a bit we got the printer to work, so I agreed to the contract. The contract was a 3 yr., 3 computer and came at a cost of $999.00. At the end of my communication with [redacted], he was insistent that I send an email saying that I was completely satisfied that he had resolved all of my problems. Although I thought this was a strange request, I complied.

On Aug. **, 2014 I encountered the same problem with the printer and called ITSC and spoke with technician [redacted] He proceeded to do the same scan as previously done and stated the problem was with my IP address that apparently had been hacked. He said I needed to take my computer to a [redacted] facility where they could permanently change my IP address. When I stated there wasn't a [redacted] store nearby, he said he could make the change but I would need to pay an additional cost that I believe was quoted at $250.00. I then expressed my discontent with that and asked why the $999.00 contract didn't cover this. His response was that IP address changes weren't something that was covered. He then somehow managed to get my printer working again and then, as before, insisted that I give my written satisfaction as to the actions he took. He even went so far as writing my response for me while he still had control of my computer and had me click on send rendering my approval. That seems like a very strange business practice to me. Although I was reluctant to approve, he had spent a considerable amount of time and my printer did work so I approved.

However, I just recently ran out of ink and attempted to replace the empty cartridge with one I had from before. The replacement cartridge had ink, but when inserted in the printer, the same error message that prompted my initial complaint came up. I went and bought a new ink cartridge and inserted it in the printer and low and behold the printer worked fine. In short, the ink cartridge proved to be the real problem and the ITSC diagnosis was nothing but a scam that cost me $999.00. I have no use at all for this company and feel this money was spent for NOTHING.Desired Settlement: I request a full refund for services that proved unworthy and ask that this company have no further contact with me.

Review: On Sept ** 2014 I stumbled on the website of International Technical Support Corporation in an attempt to install an older printer on my new computer (Windows 7) which had worked fine on XP. Their phone line sounded like from [redacted] but they talked very friendly and promised to fix everything including making my Desktop as well as my laptop way faster. It would cost me $205 plus $ 110 for cleaning software for both. Unfortunately I gave him my Visa before any work was done. For four hours they tinkered on both computers without visible results. Then they texted they would bge back after 5 minutes. After 20 minutes I switches both computers off since it was short before 10 am. Then I restored my desktop and had my printer back. Five Minutes later they phoned me, but I told them I want my money back and don’t want them to touch my computers any more. Their earlier questions also made me suspicious like: How many hours daily are you on the computer and what do you do with it? They refused to refund anything.

The next day I called them again and they refunded $ 110 for the software they never installed.

On my laptop I found 5 useless drivers that hadn’t been there before, nothing at all had been improved. All the wonderful testimonies on their website seem fake to me.

Please warn others of these people.Desired Settlement: full refund

Response:

We had received a call from [redacted] as he was not able to use his printer (epson stylus R200 Printer), the reason behind this was that the drivers for the printer on the machine had crashed. We had suggest [redacted] the support plan and he opted for fixing this issue under One Time Fix for both computers for which he had paid $210, in addition to this we had suggested [redacted] to install ONS software which optimizes the computer for both his devices.

As per the process we had assigned technician to [redacted] who started the clean up of the junk and unwanted programs and started the driver update process. Since the first installation attempt failed we went ahead with standard process of restarting the devices. After getting connected again we requested [redacted] if he has the CD available which would have saved some time. But since he didn't have the CD available we went ahead with manual set up. Post which the devices were required to be rebooted for the changes t take effect. This was standard trouble shooting step, post which the last resort was restoring the device older date.

At this point [redacted] who was co operative till then decided that it was late and asked for refund after discussion [redacted] agreed call back following day. When we the dialogue was initiated on the following morning [redacted] confirmed that printer was working but asked for refund. As a process the issue was fixed we have refunded the charge for ONS Software which was due to be installed once the printer issue was resolved. The reason we didn't process a full refund in this was the [redacted] didn't let us fix the issue on which we agreed. As a company we believe in 100% customer satisfaction and would have refunded [redacted] the entire amount if we were not able to fix the issue. As proof of work flow [redacted] has a restoration point on his device which was created on the day he registered with us.

Please feel to reach us incase futher information is required.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: To the reply of International Technical Support Corporation I can only repeat that I would never let them touch my computers again. Not only did they work on them for four hours instead of two as they suggested. But after that time they went for a five minute break at about 9:40 pm which stretched to about twenty minutes. At that time I switched them of only to realize they were as slow as at the beginning and no printer on either one. The printer driver never crashed but the printer rejected generic cartridges that had been working before. There were plenty of restore points from before, but the printer only worked after I put new cartridges in. My grandson who started in a computer shop just three month ago fixed both computers in a matter of fifteen minutes, showed me how to clean junk and both a running almost like new. The installation disc for the printer I still have and put it in on their request, but that didn’t help either. But the driver for my Epson printer can be downloaded for free from their web site. There were four useless drivers on one computer after their tinkering. So much for 100% customer satisfaction

Sincerely,

Review: I came accross ITSC when I thought I was calling [redacted] corporation to get a driver download for my HP wireless printer, which got corrupted from a virus from my laptop. ITSC asked permission to remotely take over my laptop to diagnosis the problem. They then said my entire network was corrupted and that even the new laptop I just purchased was vulnerable and I could be open to identity thieft if I didn't correct it. They said they could fix all my problems on both laptops remotely for $398.00. I agreed and signed their online contract. When they took over my laptop, they asked that I cancel the payment via the credit card I had entered and instead pay via personal check. I now believe they wanted that in order to get payment quickly and not allow me to cancel the check if dissatisfied, as I could have done if I had paid with a credit card. I watched them perform their service remotely and it appeared to me all they did was run a disk scan and recaputure any free and unused space. I routinely do this on my own and it did not correct any problems I was having on my laptop. They next day, I discovered that a specific problem was still present on my laptop. (i.e. not able to install I-tunes onto the computer even after uninstalling the program through [redacted]'s website and technicians.) I complained to ITSC about this because they assured me all my 'network issues and computer viruses' would be resolved after they preformed their remote services. They offered to refund $178 of the $398 I paid. A few days later, my laptop is in worse condition than before they worked on it; Internet Explorer routinely closes down, [redacted] mail freezes and has to rebooted, my [redacted] program allowing me to trade stocks and options does not upload my orders without rebooting and reloading. This company took over my system and did not preform any corrective services that they claimed, except to download the driver I needed to get my wireless printer working with my laptop. I could have done that for free from HP.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund of my $398 and this company needs to be exposed for their deceptive practices and scare tactics claiming that network corruption problems will lead to identity thieft unless one gets their service.

Review: International Technical Support Corporation. Told me over the telephone that they could resolve my computer issues that included, web pages freezing up. error popups, slow downloading times, blue screen. That they would rid my laptop computer of temporary files and tuneup my computer for faster speed. So I gave [redacted] a [redacted] with ITSC, control of my computer over the internet.

I could see everything that [redacted] was doing. He downloaded a free software product called, c/cleaner.com. To scan my computer and to clean it up. After that he shutdown and rebooted my laptop twice. [redacted] then gave me instruction to go to my homepage and to go to my e-mail page. After that he ask me to reboot my computer. My computer seem to work a little faster. [redacted] then began to ask me leading questions such as, would you say please that I fixed your computer issues? Would you say please that your computer is operating faster? Would you say please that I have met you're expectations? [redacted] was working on my sisters computer at the same time as mine, for the same issues. [redacted] worked on our laptop computers for an hour and a half up to two hours. we were charged $769.00 Dollars for both computers. We honestly thought our computer issues were resolved, until we began surfing the web. The same issues we were having, began again.

I called the next day. to ask for a full refund of my money to be returned to my credit card. That my sister felt like we had been scam on. I was on the phone for an hour. No Refund I was told.Desired Settlement: I would Like for International Technical Support Corporation to refund my $769.00 dollars back to my credit card. I have never known of a Corporation to refuse a refund to a customer who is not satisfied with there services. It makes one to think that this Corporation is not reputable. Or one big scam. I believe that the address is a mailing company.

Review: I found this company for my computers to clear them of virus's and malware. I purchased there services without any research on the company first. They put programs on my computer to search for virus's and malware. They said that they found some but to remove them they needed an additional $250.00 on top of the $450.00 to fix the problem. Also my son-inlaw went to call them and there phone number no longer works. Then he google searched them and found that they are from [redacted] and they have fraud reports against them. I am reporting them here in the hopes that I can get my money back from them cause I have not received all the services that I paid for. Also in hopes that they will no long steal anyone else money.Desired Settlement: Please help me get a refund on my money and stop these people from attacking anybody else.

Dear [redacted],

We had provided [redacted] support on [redacted] May 2014 for the first time and then also resolved issues with her IE on [redacted] May 2014. Post that here has no service request pending from the customer's end. We have tried to speak to customer to clarify the situation and during the conversation she told us that they searched on internet for our number and called for support. As per our records there has not been any calls from the registered numbers and both our toll free numbers are working properly. We save our toll free numbers ###-###-#### and ###-###-#### on customer desktop and they can reach us 7 days a week between 9.00 am -6.00 pm (EST). There is a very high probability that customer might have called a different provider after searching on internet as the search results are dynamic and the purchase date mentioned is not as per our records.

As an organization we believe in 100% customer satisfaction therefore we have informed [redacted] that we will initiate a refund via Cheque.

Review: To: Revdex.com of New York From: [redacted])Re: Continuous phone harassment from ITSC (International Technical Support Corp.)Back in March (2015) I lodged a complaint against ITSC at both the Revdex.com and Attorney General's office of New York because I believed they were a scam operation and I wanted a refund of my money. Thanks to your efforts and the Attorney General's office, I was able to secure a full refund. It appears now that ITSC is trying to intimidate me and harass me through constant phone calls. I have gotten at least 2 calls per day for the past two months. At first I told them I was not interested at all with any more of their service. I tried ignoring the calls but they kept coming. I now have been telling them when they call that I am reporting them again to the Revdex.com and Attorney General's office of NY. Usually they hang up before I can finish my response. I also have threatened them with a lawsuit of constant phone harassment. I inform them that I hope they are recording these responses back from me because my lawyer will be subpoenaing their phone records. Again, they hang up before I can finish my threat of a lawsuit. They clearly have in their records that I rejected their initial services and got a full refund back. So, I can only conclude that they are going to harass and try to intimidate me with constant phone calls as retaliation to my refund. They call me on various numbers, the most common being: ###-###-####, ###-###-#### and even an overseas number [redacted].Their NY office is: [redacted] and their general number is ###-###-####.The number they constantly call me at is my cell: ###-###-####. I'm sure if you check their phone records you will find at least 75 calls from June through today.I want to lodge a formal complaint and hope you can help me to stop their constant calling to my cell phone.Thank you.[redacted]Desired Settlement: Make ITSC stop the constant phone calls (at least 2 per day for the past two months).
