Review: INTERSTATE WAS MY ALARM AND CENTRAL STATIION MONITORING SERVICE SINCE 1988 WHEN WE PURCHASED OUR HOME. I HAVE SOLD THE HOME AND CALLED INTERSTATE TO ADVISE THEM TO DISCONTINUE SERVICE AS OF JUNE **, 2013. I PAID $240.00 + $20.70 TAX = $260.70 TOTAL FOR THE YEAR WHICH STARTED NOV *, 2012 TO OCT **, 2013. I CALLED AS SOON AS I KNEW WHEN I WOULD BE MOVING AND TO DISCONTINUE SERVICE AS OF JUNE **,2013. I ASKED [redacted] IF I WOULD BE GETTING A REFUND FOR THE BALANCE I DID NOT USE OF THEIR SERVICE AND HE SAID YES. I CALLED HIM ON JULY *, 2013 TO REMIND HIM ABOUIT THE REFUND AND WAS TOLD IT HAD TO BE DONE AT THE CLOSING OF MY HOME. I CALLED MY ATTORNEY AND WAS INFORMED ALARM CO SERVICES ARE NEVER INCLUDED IN A HOUSE CLOSING AND TO TAKE HIM TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT WHICH I WILL DO IF Revdex.com CANNOT SETTLE THIS FOR ME.Desired Settlement: I WOULD LIKE A REFUND OF $100.00 WHICH WOULD BE APPROXIMATELY THE UNUSED PORTION EOF MY PAYMENT FOR THE YEAR. I LIVE WITH MY DAUGHTER NOW AND HAVE NO NEED FOR AN ALARM SYSTEM. I AM A WIDOWED SENIOR CITIZEN.

In May 2013 [redacted] called me to inform me she was selling her home and planned on closing in mid June. She asked about me about the remaining months of her annual central monitoring service. I explained to her that she had signed a five year contract in November 2010 to be paid annually in advance with a no refund policy. I further explained that she could use the remaining months at her new location or have her attorney include the balance in her closing adjustments and transfer the months to the new owners. When she called back in July she asked for a refund I reminded her of our conversation and she said she did not ask her attorney about adding the alarm service to the closing adjustments. She was upset and I told her she should talk to her attorney. When she called back she said she was told that cant be done. We have been in this business for over fifty years and have had more than 75% of our customers recuperate their balance at closing and we have retained the majority of the new homeowners as satisfied customers.
