In response to the customer's request, and Interstate Carport Corp. customer service policy.
We have contacted our engineering dept. and requested that the customers building plans be adjusted to fit the requirements of the City of
Hesperia's Building Department. We have been in Contact with [redacted]...

[redacted] and [redacted] both with the Building Department of the City of Hesperia and
Have been informed that as of July 26th, 2016 the Customer's plans have been approved and wet Stamped. On July 26th, 2016 our Customer Service
Department contacted the Customer via Email that the plans for her Structure had been approved by the City of Hesperia. The Customer has since Contacted the Building department in Hesperia
and received confirmation of this fact. The Customer will be picking up her approved plans at the City Of Hesperia at her convenience. Interstate
Carport Corp will also install additional bracing
on her Structure by 8/5/16 however this is not a requirement for this building at no additional cost to our customer.
Please be aware that Interstate Carports Corp. Contracts State in (2) two separate areas of our contract that the "Buyer shall be solely responsible for, and shall obtain, any necessary city or county permits prior to commencement of Installation. Interstate Carports Corp. will not be held liable for any city or county ordinance or code violation" On the front page of our Contract below pricing, is the first acknowledgement of this requirement, this requires initials, the customer initialed this section, on the second page of our contract line item "4" this statement is again re-stated with a requirement of a signature and date at the bottom of the page acknowledging her understanding of our contract and its requirements, which she again signed and Dated. If The Revdex.com would like a copy of Interstate Carports Corp. Contract we would be willing to submit one for your internal review.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I disagree with the response. I have not received the Permit from the city yet.The plans were finally approved, the city is charging me additional fees of 95.00 to fix the original plans from Interstate Carports. It's the time spent between the city and Interstate. I should not be responsible for these fees, the plans plans provided were never going pass a inspection by any City!!. The support braces are required in each corner and 2 of them were never installed. The loose braces are still laying in my yard. Based on the Contractors License Law, section codes7110 and 7090. It's the contractors responsibility to pull permits before building. This company failed to do this. NOW they are leaving everything up to me to complete. I, the consumer have no idea of this process. I PAID over 7,000.00 for this carport and now I fear , I will have to remove it because a lack of a Permit. This company only cares about making money and not about there customers and there satisfaction. I have been dealing with this too long and the stress is terrible.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 11, 2015/10/14) */
ICC rec'd a call from the Revdex.com informing us the complainant refused to redact his complaint as he agreed with us in writing to do after several attempts to conclude doing business. We put forth as much effort as any firm could possibly do in a...

situation which was presented to us on a rather difficult customer installation that involved a live electric utility power line the customer was responsible for at his house. It was not handled in a satisfactory fashion and represented a safety hazard to our employees. So we refused to do the installation. We compensated the customer rather generously and he agreed to contract with a contractor of his choice to install the structure. Attached are his own written statements:
"Interstate Carports decided to refund me $2,500.00 and not complete the installation due to time constraints. This was mutually agreed after attempting to have the work completed on time. I hired another contract to finish the work and bring the structure up to code. The issue has been resolved to my satisfaction as of this date.
Very Respectfully,
(complainant name withheld)"
And as if that wasn't enough here is another:
"I received the refund today and have contacted the Revdex.com informing them that we have come to a mutual agreement and that the issue has been resolved. If you have a State contractors complaint file number I will contact them and resolve the issue with them as well. At this time the only complaint is with the Revdex.com and the Sacramento County Building Department Code Violations. They have been contacted and the issues were resolved. Once I receive a final inspection I will send you a copy of the report for your files.
Very Respectfully,
(complainant name withheld)"
The Revdex.com rep that contacted ICC informed us that she contacted complainant after initially calling ICC telling her the above written agreement existed. She then informed me that customer/complainant told her he wasn't going to redact his Revdex.com (even though as you can see in his email message above he reported that he already did) until an inspection of the structure was done. THIS HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH Interstate Carport Corporation after his agreement with us and we can and will provide a copy of that agreement as well. We trust this response puts to rest these facts.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 16, 2015/10/14) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
First of all I will forward this information to my attorney for review and possibly file a law suit for Defamation of Character. I contacted ICC 3 times prior to filling this complaint and two times after in writing after several phone calls were ignored, not dozens of time as ICC would have you believe. I also was forced to speak to several individuals since no one seems to know what is going on at the ICC office. I also believe ICC does this to confuse and delay or possibly walk away from there responsibilities. The facts still remain that the contractor did not send qualified contractors to install the structure. As a result one of the installers was electrocuted and then the Sacramento County Building Inspector failed the inspection. Then ICC refused to make the required repairs even after I filled this complaint. SMUD did come to the residence to move the electrical wire and make additional safety repairs after the installers caused the problem by attaching the metal structure directly onto the power line. Please contact SMUD to verify they did in fact come to my home to make the repairs. I informed ICC that I would remove the complaint once the repairs were completed and I am able to obtain a final inspection as noted on my email. The response prompts me to file another complaint with the State contractors Board as it appears that ICC is not taking any responsibility for the work they performed at my home and are now trying to blame me the customer.
Final Business Response /* (1000, 14, 2015/10/14) */
ICC has literally dozens of email correspondences between Mr. [redacted] M. [redacted] and our company that fully support our stance in this matter. Mr. [redacted] has created quite an amount of difficulty in that he has repeatedly made statements then abruptly exhibits fits of rage, calling our office using vulgarity, refusing to acknowledge his prior statements and shortcomings. Outside entities such as the Sacramento Municipal Utility District were contacted by ICC and we were informed that statements Mr. [redacted] made to us were flat out lies. So, we feel this particular individual is very unreliable, and his word is not to be trusted at all. He likes to raise his voice and create trouble and lacks the capacity to intelligently put in perspective the realities of situations as important as a live electric power line and the need to have it addressed. He instead created a mess and tried to turn the story around and blame it on us, holding what amounts to be extortion against us if we didn't play his way. Too bad, but this happens with online complaint boards as it is too easy to access and not much accountability or ability to combat to show both sides. We here at ICC appreciate Revdex.com allowing some semblance of recourse.
Thank you
