Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2016/07/28) */
Hi,
*** the *** belonging to *** came into Capital Auto Centre with a knocking noise in the front of the vehicleThe tech diagnosed that both front wheel bearings had play and were replaced with both parts
and labor being covered under warranty
The vehicle was brought in again on June 16, with the same problemThe tech inspected the vehicle and found that the customer had installed the outside clips on the calipers incorrectly and new pads were installed on old rotorsBecause of this, it was possible that the rust lip on the inside of the rotors was contributing to the noiseThe tech also noticed that the ball joint had some play, but after several checks the noise was still thereThe inspection found that the right front caliper was moving due to new pads on old rotors not making contactRepairs were presented to customer, who declined the work as he said he would complete the work himself
The customer came in for a third appointment with the same complaintHe thought it might be a wheel bearing againI let him know that his extended warranty through *** would not cover replacement of the same part, but the part itself had warranty and could be replaced, however I would have to check to see if labor would be covered as wellI also made him aware at that time that if the diagnosis was something other than the wheel bearing, and it turned out not to be a warrantable issue, that he would be responsible for diagnostic charges, making him aware of every possible scenarioThe customer refused to let us look at the vehicle as he did not want to possibly be charged for anythingThat was our last point of contact with him
*** ***
I propose that he does exactly what we asked him to do the last time we spoke and allow us to properly diagnose his vehicle with the rotors replacedWe have no problem addressing his concerns but can't do so if he is not willing or able to allow us
Thanks,
***

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Well for starters I told them it was the wheel bearing not a noise in the front endAlso I took it back with the lower ball joint and told them it was gone not them telling me it was gone.they should have told me that when the wheel bearing was done.I checked the hub without the roters on it and the hub had a mm wobble in themWhen it was in the 3rd time with the wheel bearing I was told I will have to pay for the work and the bearing might be covered so I did not let them look at itI am sorry but I don't trust a place that wants to say something else is gone and make me pay for the work and parts.how many more things can that say is gone before they fix what was not done right the first time.about the clip for the breaks it only holds the out side of the caliber and has nothing to do with the wheel bearing
