Interstate Relocation Services Reviews (%countItem)

The moves breached the contract agreement, lost 4 boxes, late arrival, and damaged my furniture.
My move was supposed be completed in the 21 business day threshold and it was late, I never received notice that my move was being held in storage and when it would be completed. I had to find out that the original broker has used another company to complete my move. They ended up losing 4 boxes of clothes and electronics, military uniform and boots, and collectable *** shoes that were hard to attain. They also damaged my furniture. And it has been months and I still am unable to reach either companies for the paperwork needed to properly file my claim. I never received copies of my inventory, about the move, invoice or a receipt. The only thing I received was the estimate. Neither companies have return emails, calls, and puts me straight to voicemail anytime I call.

Desired Outcome

I am looking for a full refund and additional cost to replace the items lost and damaged.

INTERSTATE DID NOT REASONABLY TAKE CARE OF MY BELONGINGS IN MY RECENT MOVE.
I HIRED TRINITY VAN LINES FOR MY MOVE ON 09/30/2019 FROM UTAH TO TEXAS. TRINITY BROKERED INTERSTATE RELOCATION SERVICE TO HANDLE MY MOVE. INTERSTATE WAS SUPPOSED TO SHOW UP WITH 2 TRUCKS AND CREWS TO DO THE MOVE. ON MOVING DAY THEY SHOWED UP WITH ONE TRUCK AND DIDN'T HAVE THE NECESSARY SUPPLIES OR EQUIPMENT TO MOVE FURNITURE. WE WERE TOLD THE 2ND TRUCK WAS ON ITS WAY. THEY REQUIRED US TO PAY HALF OF THE REMAINING BALANCE BEFORE THEY WOULD START WORKING. THEY ONLY TOOK BOXES. THE 2ND TRUCK DID NOT SHOW UP FOR 3 DAYS WHILE WE WERE TRAPPED IN OUR HOME BECAUSE WE WERE TOLD THE 2ND TRUCK WOULD BE THERE ANY MINUTE DURING THESE 3 DAYS AND WE WERE TOLD WE HAD TO BE THERE WHEN IT ARRIVED. THE 2ND TRUCK FINALLY ARRIVED AND THE REMAINDER OF OUR BELONGINGS WERE PACKED AND SENT TO TEXAS. INTERSTATE PROMISED TO HAVE BOTH TRUCKS ARRIVE ON OCT 11TH AT WHICH TIME WE WERE SUPPOSED TO PAY THE BALANCE OWED.
NEITHER TRUCK ARRIVED ON THE 11TH. WHEN WE CHECKED INTO WHAT WAS GOING ON WE FOUND OUT ONE OF OUR TRUCKS WAS MISSING AND THE CREW WENT OFF THE GRID. THEY TOLD US THEY HAD TO FIRE SOME EMPLOYEES AND BRING CRIMINAL CHARGES AGAINST AT LEAST ONE OF THEM. ONE TRUCK ARRIVED ON OCT 14 AND DEMANDED PAYMENT IN FULL BEFORE THEY WOULD GIVE US WHAT WAS IN THAT TRUCK. WE PAID. WHEN THEY OPENED THE TRUCK IT WAS A NIGHTMARE. EVERYTHING THEY HAD IN THE TRUCK HAD BEEN UNLOADED SOMEWHERE AND GONE THROUGH AND THEN JUST THROWN INTO THIS TRUCK. OTHER PEOPLES BELONGINGS WERE MIXED INTO OURS, ALMOST EVERYTHING WAS DAMAGED OR DESTROYED AND IT APPEARED A LOT OF THINGS WERE MISSING. THE 2ND TRUCK DID NOT ARRIVE UNTIL OCT 24 MAKING IT 24 DAYS FROM THE PICKUP DATE. THE DRIVES DEMANDED MORE MONEY BEFORE THEY WOULD GIVE US THE CONTENTS AND WE HAD TO NEGOTIATE WITH MIKE FROM THE MAIN OFFICE AND PAY AGAIN TO GET OUR BELONGINGS. EVERYTHING IN THIS TRUCK WAS DAMAGED AND DESTROYED AS WELL AND EVERYTHING THAT WAS COVERED OR DRAPED WITH MOVING BLANKETS ON PICKUP NO LONGER HAD THEM. THERE WERE MORE ITEMS MIXED IN OURS THAT BELONGED TO OTHER PEOPLE AS WELL AS MORE DAMAGED, DESTROYED, AND MISSING BELONGINGS. THERE WERE EVEN THINGS IN OUR SEALED CRATES THAT BELONGED TO OTHER PEOPLE. WE PAID A TOTAL OF $9,886.08 FOR THIS MOVE. TRINITY TOOK $2,935 TO BROKER THE DEAL AND WE PAID $3,475.54 TO THE FIRST PICK UP TRUCK, AND A TOTAL OF 3475.54 TO THE 2 DELIVERY TRUCKS. OUR LOSSES FROM MISSING AND DAMAGED ITEMS IS BETWEEN 5K AND 10K. WE HAVE ALREADY PASSED *** 5K MARK AND THERE ARE THINGS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN REPLACED OR REPAIRED YET.

Desired Outcome

I REQUEST TO BE REIMBURSED FOR MY LOSSES. I WILL ACCEPT $5,000.00 FOR MY LOSSES ULESS THIS HAS TO GO TO COURT WHERE I WILL BE ASKING FOR EVERYTHING I AM ENTITLED TO.

Moving from Illinois to Texas, I contacted Trinity Van Lines which brokered out my move to Interstate Relocation Service in Dallas Texas. They picked up our furniture (literally threw it in the truck) on Sunday evening September 7, 2019 and left us to put the doors back on our house at 8:30 p.m. They took off in such a hurry that they didn't even give us a bill of lading! We had requested a delivery date in Texas for September 14, 2019, but they didn't show up until Monday the 16th. We had to pay the remaining balance up front or they would not unload our items. (They also charged an additional $2000) and Mike ***, the foreman, insisted I give them postal money orders, which I did. After they unloaded some boxes and our headboards and damaged dining chairs they said that was all they had! The drivers called Mike and he said he would send the remaining items the next day. After almost 2 weeks another truck came and delivered a few more items, but not our furniture and clothes. I've been calling Mike (XXX-XXX-XXXX) almost everyday and he keeps saying it will be here the next day. Long story short, it is now October 6th, 2019 and we still don't have our stuff. When I told Mike I was going to contact a lawyer he just laughed at me. He seldom returns my phone calls and makes lame excuses if he does return my call.

Desired Outcome

Delivery Delivery of the rest of my items and replacement of all the damaged items, plus compensation for inconvieniencs we have suffered (we are senior citizens) trying to live in a house with no furniture, beds and clothing. My anxiety and stress levels have gone through the roof causing my health to be affected. We had to buy air mattress to sleep on. I also make a living by sewing, and my industrial machine has not been delivered causing loss of income!!!

Interstate Relocation Services Response • Oct 11, 2019

This is a moving company the customer had more inventory than we could ship at one time but the customer has received all her inventory as of 10/8/2019 and this situation should be finished at this time, Thank you

Customer Response • Oct 15, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Yes, we did finally receive all of our items, but I can honestly say that ALL of the furniture was damaged. We will be filing a claim for our losses. Some of our furniture can not be repaired, and antiques cannot be replaced. Our microwave had the bottom crushed in. These are NOT professional movers. They do not handle your items with care. They are obviously NOT trained movers.
It was not just about receiving all our items, but also about the way the situation was handled and the terrible condition our items were in when they were delivered.
We paid for professional movers and this company is far from professional.
