I am rejecting this response because: I am working with the business at this time on a resolution. However, they have not completed the repairs at this time so I cannot accept the resolution within 5 calendar days of this notice. I engaged the services of an architectural engineer to evaluate the area in question, and he disputed the fact that it is just an aesthetic issue, that in fact the decking appears to have been damaged by ice dams and should have been replaced at the time of the roofing. I also engaged the services of another roofing company to evaluate the condition of the roof. Their evaluation was much the same as the engineer, although more areas of less severe damage were identified as they observed the entire roof. In addition, an ice shield should have been installed although it is not mandatory code. Both the engineer and the other roofing company agreed that the majority of the roof is in good condition. Interstate Roofing representatives told me that the plywood decking on my roof was soft everywhere and that the overhang was no different. That is not true. There was a significant difference in ‘spongy-ness’ from the upper roof to where the sags are evident along the front/west side of the house. I have done some extensive reading on using plywood vs OSB on roofs/building in general, and plywood offers the same or better strength as OSB. OSB has a lower moisture tolerance, is prone to swelling at cut edges, and has a lower wind tolerance. OSB is of course cheaper for the contractor/builder to use.  Until the repairs are completed to my satisfaction I cannot formally accept the resolution.  Thank you.

Interstate Roofing filed a police report for fraud and theft against [redacted] as Mr. [redacted] was not working for Interstate Roofing when he took Mr. [redacted] money. Nonetheless, Interstate Roofing wanted to help Mr. [redacted] through this...

unfortunate situation for which Mr. [redacted] holds some amount of fault.
On or about May 7th, 2015. Mr. [redacted] contacted [redacted] who works for various roofing companies as a subcontractor. Interstate Roofing had performed work for Mr. [redacted] in 2014. When Mr. [redacted] needed additional work done, Mr. [redacted] did not contact Interstate Roofing for his new project. Instead, Mr. [redacted] contacted Mr. [redacted] personally to perform the work. Mr. [redacted] and [redacted] communicated via personal email, agreed to a price, and a scope of work unbeknownst to Interstate Roofing.
The alleged thief, [redacted] did have Mr. [redacted] sign an Interstate Roofing contract without the knowledge of Interstate Roofing. Even though Interstate Roofing did not know of the contract with Mr. [redacted], Line Item #2 the contract stated in bold print "all checks for payment must be made payable to Interstate Roofing. There will be no exceptions. Homeowners will still be liable to Interstate Roofing for payment of this contract if check is made out to any other entity or person."
Mr. [redacted], however, wrote a check directly to Mr. [redacted] for the amount agreed to between [redacted] and Mr. [redacted] then cashed the check and kept the money. Mr. [redacted] never made contact with Interstate Roofing until Mr. [redacted] could no longer contact Mr. [redacted]
Thus, this is not even an acceptable Revdex.com complaint as Mr. [redacted] is not an Interstate Roofing customer. Moreover, Mr. [redacted] wrote his check directly to Mr. [redacted] company rather than Interstate Roofing. While Interstate Roofing is compassionate to Mr. [redacted]'s situation, the complaint should be nullified and submitted against [redacted] rather than Interstate Roofing.
In fact, Interstate Roofing has filed a police report with the Denver Police Department and Interstate Roofing has encouraged Mr. [redacted] to do the same as [redacted] committed insurance and check fraud. Nonetheless, Interstate Roofing has tried to work with Mr. [redacted] to assist him in getting a new roof installed on his property at a reduced price to minimize Mr. [redacted]'s losses. Interstate Roofing encourage customers to sure that they are doing business with a reputable company, only pay for the services you receive, and never pay someone other than the business identified on the contract.
