I would like to make sure you understand that I am looking for a refund of the services that I was charged for and I am not looking for loss wages and any other things that were mentioned in the email that I have receivedThe shell station needs to refund me of the costs charged since I had
to find another mechanic to have the repairs doneThanks
Review: On Thursday June 26th, 2014, I arrived at the Shell Gas Station located at [redacted], MD [redacted] with my car needing tune-up and I was met by a mechanic by the name of James who diagnosed my car and concluded that it needed to have tune- up done. After waiting for over 4 hours, he has replaced the 4 spark plugs and 1 ignition wire and 1 V/C gasket.
He charged me $279.79 for the labor and parts. The only thing he told me after repair is that the radiator will need coolant the next day. Since I had coolant in my car, I added some right in front of him . I drove to my destination, which was about 2 miles away and the car died again as the gauge showed it was overheating from C to H. I called James and he told me it was because of the coolant. I added more coolant directly into the radiator . I drove back home, which is about 18 miles and the car was making some big and scary noises. Once I get home, I added more coolant into the radiator to the point that it became full. The next morning, when I started the car, it died immediately. I tried several times to no avail. I could not even drive to the gas station named "[redacted]" which is at walking distance. So, I walked there and they told me to tow the car to them, which I did ,since I had no other option. After diagnosing the car, [redacted], the head mechanic at [redacted] Gas Station, discovered that James did not connect back the vacuum lines from the intake causing the car to stall. Therefore, he was negligent in his function. The mechanic wrote down his findings in his report which I have in my possession. Over all, I paid $207.00 to the [redacted] to fix the wires that were left disconnected by James. The cost include towing fees of $65 dollars, and diagnose fees.
After discussing the fact to James back the Shell Gas Station in person on Monday June 30th, 2014, he denied the findings of the other mechanic and said he would not refund me anything. I also talked to the owner of Shell Gas Station whose name is Babar I[redacted] and he said after investigation with his employee that he would not refund me also. Since I have done two series of negotiation to settle the case with both the mechanic James and his boss Babar who refuse to settle it then I have no option to escalate the caseDesired Settlement: I am seeking refund of all costs charged to me including lost wages for the 8 hours a day for Friday when I could not make it to work. As a Certified Public Accountant, I have clients to visit and could not do that due to the mechanics negligence and bad repair.
