Interstate Towing, Inc. Reviews (3)

I was confronted with a challenge. My daughter goes to school in MASS and I am in Florida. She was involved in a minor accident and her car was not drivable. I did a search on Google and Interstate Towing seemed like the logical choice. Good Reviews, Nice Trucks and a video. My daughter was distraught, and told her to call them. SO HAPPY. They not only towed her car, but treated her like family. I think they are not the stereotype of a tower. They were classy and compassionate. I appreciate the service and wanted to express my gratitude.

I Would like get back $165 of the $255Thank youBusiness Response In response to Mr. [redacted]'s complaint:1) The credit card fee is actually not a fee for using the card it is a convenience fee and can be charged. This is a posted fee in our lobby making customers well aware we DO NOT accept credit cards because of the "Charge Back" risk; therefore we charge a convenience fee 2) The Fuel Surcharge fee is a fee that is regulated and monitored by the DPU see 220 CMR 272.00 and can be charge on any vehicle that uses fuel to tow or service a vehicle.3) The Lien document fee is a combination of DPU regulated fees that cover administration paperwork and programs associated with impounding the vehicle this fee is not regulated by the DPU. We charge a fair, reasonable and consistent rate of $36.11 which is standard in our industry statewide. 4) I have spoken with the associates involved in this transaction and Mr. [redacted] was not forced to have his vehicle towed out by us. The $85 gate fee was mentioned to him because he wanted and outside Tow Company to come in and tow out the vehicle and we charge this fee to all outside tow companies. He was informed he can drive the vehicle out on dealer plates as long has he had valid dealer plates with registration. Mr. [redacted] chose to have the vehicle towed out and the gate fee was not charged. Thank you,[redacted]Interstate Towing IncConsumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Was not post for convenience fee and was toll it was is credit card feeHave them send copy of all the Lien document .also have them send copy of the one sent out, and the time and date stamp on themwould like the names of the associates involved in this matter they toll me you must pay the $85 gate fee even if you have dealer plates and then they started laughing also they said there nothing you can do about itThank you[redacted]Final Business Response Due to the fee not being posted, and being told it was a fee, we will issue a $10 check to the consumer. The Lien document fee is a combination of DPU regulated fees that cover administration paperwork and programs associated with impounding the vehicle this fee is not regulated by the DPU. We charge a fair, reasonable and consistent rate of $36.11 which is standard in our industry statewide. Since it is a combination of regulated fees and administration paper and programs there is nothing for me to send to the consumer. We will not be refunding this as well.We will not being giving the names of the associates involved. The gate fee is only for outside companies and all associates are aware of this. So the tow out charge will not be refunded.Thank you[redacted]Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)We are ask for copy (Lien document fee) of full paper work they process if not this is fraud ! They will not give the person name because the person was not telling the truth and that Is Fraud ! AlSOWe asking for Full Refund ![redacted]

Complaint[redacted] call for roadside assistance for overheating. Driver did not tow even though problem persisted. Caused engine to warp and be blown. On X-XX-XX I made a [redacted] roadside assistance call. My car had overheated. Driver showed up and reattached the hose thinking that this would solve the problem. Gave me the piece of plastic that broke off from the radiator. This I kept in order to give to the dealership where I had purchased the car a month and a half earlier. Never had an issue with the car until this time. And it was still under warranty. Driver said that he would follow me to [redacted] where I live because he had another call in [redacted] Two miles down the road I had to pull over because it was overheating again. He felt the bottom hose and it was cold. He felt the top hose and it was hot. We both noticed that the antifreeze reservoir was full. I asked him why this was happening and he replied, "I don't know but you should put some water in the radiator so that it could circulate.". He said that we had just passed a gas station and that I should buy some antifreeze to use. So I had to back track to the station and at this point he went on his way leaving me to drive the 10 miles back to my house with an overheating engine. Why he did not tow me is be on me?! After all I do pay for my [redacted] membership! What normally takes 30 minutes for my drive, now took an hour. Every half mile I had to stop because it was overheating, to put some antifreeze in the radiator. The following day I made another call to [redacted] to have my [redacted] towed to the dealerhip. On Monday the [redacted] Dave in the service dept. at [redacted] in [redacted] explained that the engine was blown. I was made to drive an overheating engine and this caused it to warp and evidently blew a head gasket. I would need a new engine.I haven't had the car for long and now I don't have it. [redacted] is willing to pay for half of the repair, but the owner of Interstate Towing is only willing to pay for a quarter of the bill. He says that [redacted] is "playing the blamne game." Funny of him to say that when I think he is doing just that. He and the gentleman from [redacted] both agree that the driver should have towed my car. This is negligent on their part. I feel that I shouldn't pay for their mistake. After all I did what the driver told me to do. Drive it and continue to fill up the radiator!!! Now I have no car and how am I suppose to go to work?!Desired Settlement Money for their half of the bill. Acceptance for their mistake.Business Response Good Day, I would like to respond to the complaint of Ms. [redacted]. On [redacted] 2015 we received a call from [redacted] for roadside assistance in [redacted] Our driver [redacted], arrived on the scene and met with the [redacted] member. The driver's initial observation and conclusion was that the member's motor had overheated from a lack of coolant fluid. [redacted] also noted that there was slight smell of anti-freeze coming from the exhaust; a tell-tale sign that coolant was finding its way from the cooling system into to the engine's main combustion chamber. It should be noted that our main objective of AAA roadside assistance is not to tow the car and leave the member without transportation, but the get the member "On the Go", or OTG as [redacted] often says. [redacted] found a loose radiator hose on the vehicle. He showed the member what he'd found, Ms [redacted] gave [redacted] permission he reattached the hose and tightened the clamp. Ms [redacted] stated to [redacted] that [redacted] had recently sold her this part and "if I had the tools I wouldn't have called you" Instructions were given to drive to the closest [redacted] station and add fluid and get the car to a mechanic very soon, as water is not ok as a long term solution for a coolant replacement in cold weather. The member was asked if she was okay with this and the member agreed. She chose to driver it down the road with the initial repair. Our driver followed the member down the road about one mile where the member pulled over once again. There was now a difference of temperature in the upper and lower coolant hoses, showing the driver that there was not a circulation of cooling fluid. The cooling issue had again caused the car to overheat. The member choose to go back home and from there never called [redacted] back for a tow. He left them with a warning to call [redacted] back if the anti-freeze didn't work to cool the motor and they wished to have the car towed after all. He further told them that the motor should not be run while over-heating. The member obviously drove the car prior to originally calling [redacted] overheating the motor. Before our arrival on this original call the vehicle stalled because of an over heat issue, furthermore the evidence proves the engine was clearly damaged prior to our arrival. There were no further calls for service from the member, despite the driver's warning to not continue running up the temperature in the motor. Obviously, they did not follow that instruction at all. We do not know how hot the motor got on the ride home, but we do know that they admitted driving it and continually overheating it prior to our arrival and after. In good faith and in the spirit of good business, I will be willing to split the owner's half of the warrantee repair on the motor. I will not however accept any percentage of the liability for a motor that obviously had cooling issues prior to our being on scene. The dealership was willing to pay half of the repair costs. I can only imagine why they are willing, as there very well may have been cooling issues prior to the sale of the car. I would reiterate our position saying that the vehicle had a cooling issue that the member inherited with their vehicle. There are no service records presented with this complaint. There is no vehicle history shown with the complaint. We're not looking to be unreasonable. Initially towing the car would have laid 100% of the issues on the member and the dealership. Our drivers are encouraged to get cars OTG. My driver did that. He is an [redacted] certified mechanic, as well as a qualified recovery operator. He did a good job of following the customer's request and getting the car On-The-Go. Again, in good faith, I would be willing to split one-half of the member's co-pay of [redacted]Sincerely, [redacted]Revdex.com Processing 01/30/2015 web Revdex.com Complaint Received by Revdex.com02/03/2015 MM Revdex.com Member or MIP Complaint Reviewed by Revdex.com Operator02/04/2015 Otto EMAIL Send Acknowledgement to Consumer02/04/2015 Otto EMAIL Inform MIP Member of ComplaintConsumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I think it is very hypercritical of this man to even suggest that they are to use his own words, "We're not looking to be unreasonable." I don't give a rats behind if their driver is certified this or that. Number one the fact that everyone involved in this issue including this [redacted] has admitted that the car should have been towed. To put this all on me by this guy is bullpopo.Number two,he has been told by myself countless of times that I told the driver that I wanted to make my way to [redacted] to get some antifreeze. That is all!!!!!!! This car has never had an issue for as long as I have owned it, which had been a month and a half before this. The driver never once went to the rear of the car to smell any antifreeze coming from the exhaust. Any one could see and smell the antifreeze under the hood since the hose with the antifreeze sprayed everywhere when it broke off from the radiator.Number three I never EVER told him that I would drive home this ailing car. He told me that he would follow me to make sure that it wasn't going to overheat. Well how did that work for them? I pay my [redacted] membership with the trust that they contract knowledgeable and helpful drivers. Not one that gives quick advice so that he can move on to his other customer. Which was in [redacted] All he told me to do is go back to the [redacted] station and put some antifreeze and keep filling up the radiator in the hopes "that it will circulate" and stop overheating. He sure as [redacted] did not offer to tow me. I told him that I live in [redacted] which was another 10 miles. I did what I was told to do. Keep filling it up with antifreeze. You know how long this 10 miles stretch took me to get home?! What is normally a 30 minute drive turned into an hour drive. I had to stop every half mile and refill the radiator. I even had to stop at the [redacted] in [redacted] to buy more antifreeze Number four,if according to this [redacted] then why did I call [redacted] again the next day to have the car towed to the dealership??? Does he not think before he opens his mouth to lie???Number five why would I drive a car that is overheating before calling [redacted] I heard a pop which was the hose breaking off from the radiator. And antifreeze all over the windshield in an area that has no businesses for miles. And going uphill to boot??!! To any logical mind this is ridiculous. He is saying this only because I am a woman. Well maybe I should file for discrimination and also go to the media. If he wants to play ball, let the games begin!!!!! He has IDEA what the spirit of good business is. He as admitted that the driver should have towed me. Therefore he knows that they screwed up. He needs to pay an additional [redacted] to cover the rest of the repair. [redacted] has paid for half and so should this [redacted] guy. I will not settle for anything less. Oh and an apology for insulting my intelligence and my womanhood. Which will cover for all the women who he has disrespected. To tell me that he would treat me as if I were his daughter or mother doesn't say much about his manhood.
