We have been members of Interval International for about yearsUntil this year I have been very happy with our membership Last March I submitted an exchange request giving the choices and dates It has been almost a year, and I have not received a confirmation or any type of update I had requested the end of January, 2015, or February, Today, I am very unhappy with Interval International

Recently I had booked a stay in Gatlinburg TN, but of course a natural disaster in this case a wild fire shut the entire town and resort down. After emailing and being told that I couldn't get a refund because I didn't take out the travel insurance they told me I could transfer it to another location. I was okay with that although the fact that the resort was shut down should be considered abnormal and not an excuse for them to not refund my money, but I called and spoke to someone that said she was in customer service. They said that I would have to pay the exchange fee again which is over $300 because I didn't get the trip insurance. That is really bad customer service. It would be understandable if it was a cancellation fee that was avoidable or I had to pay due to something I did, but this was a natural disaster with wildfires going all over the state and the resort is shut down. I do not even have the option to go to the place that I booked. Yet this company still wants to charge me another $300 to change it to a new location. Even though you may have something in small print about the insurance it is typically needed if the customer has an issue leading to a cancellation. That is completely unacceptable from a customer service standpoint. A natural disaster is hardly in the control of anyone and they would not even transfer my location without recharging me. I am glad this company can make some money off of out of control issues that caused a town to be evacuated and declared a state of emergency. I will also be cancelling my membership as soon as this current one times out.

Don't expect interval to keep representations made by their staff. I have an upscale timeshare at the Royal Resorts property near Cancun. I was considering banking the week for 2015. The rep I spoke with said that as long as I did it within 90 days of my week, I could bank the week. I had not one but 2 calls with the rep to help ensure I was correct. I just called and was told that since week 15 had passed, I simply lost the week!!!! The phone exchanges and the fact that extensions are granted up to 90 days after a banking did take place was consistent with what I believed.....and the rep confirmed in Nov. I had actually banked the week, BUT on the advice of the rep withdrew the banking of the week It is in the record. I spoke with a [redacted] and [redacted] who were unwilling to keep a representation made by the rep. in Nov. Not sure of next steps for me, but clearly I will not recommend Interval to ANYONE

After the CDC issued warnings about travel to Mexico & the Zika virus and pregnant women or women wishing to become pregnant we decided to cancel our family trip to Cancun. 2 of the 3 women going were either trying to get pregnant or would be pregnant. The airlines were more than happy to refund our money and did. Interval International refunded our money to my credit card but has suspended our account with them and is holding it hostage until I pay them the money that they credited to my credit card. According to Interval they had to pay the hotel in Cancun which I find hard to believe because hotels in Cancun and other affected areas were also allowing people to cancel their reservations without a cancelation fee. Apparently Interval has no regard for it's customers health and safety and is only concerned about it's fees.

This company is such a scam! I have banked my weeks with them for over a decade, and have never managed to book a week where I want, when I want. I've always had to settle for whatever I could find available, which wasn't great and definitely not what I was looking for. Most years I just ended up wasting banked weeks, because I couldn't bring myself to deal with the grueling hours of wasted time and frustration. They make tons of empty promises, so please don't fall for it! Take your money and run! Never, never, never buy a timeshare, total waste of money and hours of frustration! I had to throw away even more money to get rid of mine! I honestly don't know how this business could have an A+ rating, comical!!! I do not recommend this business to ANYONE, ever!!!

I submitted a very negative review on or about July 14 regarding Interval. I am not certain how I update my comments, but my disappointment with the action/inaction taken by [redacted] and [redacted] that day have been mitigated by the actions on [redacted] yesterday 7/17.
[redacted] was professional and contrary to earlier contacts with staff worked to really find a fair solution. I appreciated his efforts and wanted to share that positive experience.....thanks for the opportunity.
